One of the most beautiful and well written songs I've heard come out in a long time. My brother Dalten and I filmed and edited this together... I used that big ol' mic that you see to capture the audio from my voice and guitar, then played it back through the headphones and filled in some parts with that cool red melodica. I'm still experimenting with different ways of doing videos, let me know what you like and don't like, and how I can make my videos better! :)

I could literally listen to you sing all day long. I love Ray LaMontagne and this is one of my favorite songs by him, but this cover just...like....emotional, I can't explain it! Amazing job. Keep them coming, please!

OH MY GOD DERIK!!!!!!!!!! Incredible and chilling!!!! I loved it. Brought a little tear to my eye to see our beautiful home. I miss you. I downloaded a VPN/ Proxy service so I'm able to get on UA-cam now!!!!! It's a little spotty but I'M SO GLAD I COULD FINALLY SEE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!

@Shanni22 awww thank you :) it is indeed a beautiful area... All of the background shots at the beginning of the video were shot within walking distance of our house in Olympia, WA. I love being able to get out of Los Angeles for a week or two and go home to the PNW (ESPECIALLY IN THE SUMMER!!!)

@brettfromson nope, tube. It's a custom made mic distributed through chameleon labs, made by a guy named Terry Setter from my hometown. He basically reverse engineered the Neumann U87 and redesigned it with an extended high end and adjustable voltage to the tube (as well as a fraction of the price!). I used it for all the vocals on North and love the way it sounds!!
