We tend to only show this when we miss someone that has been gone. Deployed or not, never waste a moment and from time to time give those hugs. Even if you dont get them, which these are hard to emulate, give them. They go a long way. Semper Fidelis

Amazing happy moments. I love how the children don't hesitate in hugging their parents in front of schoolmates when they haven't seen their parents for long time.
Sometimes homecomings do not go as planned with little ones. One of my shipmates had her youngest about 4 months before our 6 month deployment. When we came home I walked with her to see her family since I had no one there to welcome me. When we got to her husband and children the little one reached out to me first. I was touched, but I was short lived when I saw that my friend was happy for me, but the hurt showed in her face because she was chosen second. So I will always ask that everyone remember those who serve often do so at a great cost, and I'm not just referring to those that do not come home. Oh to end on a happy note after a couple days mother and son were back to normal.
