I have one of that and it is working fine. It was given to me by mother and i love wearing it every day.

That’s a great story enjoy your watch. Stories like this are the reason I love vintage watches.

Hey man, my grandpa gave me this watch and his wristband was broken. Now I brought it to the jeweler but they can’t find a new metal band for it because that pieces aren’t made anymore. You got any tips?

Would the cost of having this watch fully serviced not far exceed the actual value of the watch, unless it had sentimental value of course?

Yeah this watch cost more to service than the actual cost of the watch

Nice job. I'm quite familiar with Seiko movements and I think they are a very robust pieces of engineering, I love them. The date finger has been installed upside-down but it might work just fine I rekon.

Yeah working on Seiko's is still pretty new to me but find them pretty solidly made.

Love the video Nate thanks, The video editing does not do justice to the sublime skill of the watchmaker, is has often taken me ten minutes just to get one of those tiny screws into position to be screwed down 🤦‍♀

Fiddling with screws is all a part of the learning process…along with finding them after going ‘ping’

Love the videos... Curious about one thing... Everyone goes through such effort to protect the balance pivots. Wouldn't it then be beneficial to wash the movement with the balance cap jewels still on when going to the machine or is it just not big a deal? Thanks again!

I wouldn't say there's an issue cleaning the balance with the jewels in place, so long as they are cleaned separately afterwards. But I have yet to have an issue cleaning the balance pivots as they are without the jewels in place. :)

Hi Nate,Super video. Just a simple question how do you identify a movement whether if it is a 6309/6119/7005/7006/6619 or a 7625 to the naked eye??

Almost the same as orient cal. 46943. I wonder do they share the same parts?

I love old Volvo’s for exactly the same reason that I love Seiko’s. What I would refer to as the most honest, working class brand of watch you could ever buy.
