Polite art criticism, I really love what you did for Celestia but for Luna... it feels like there is alot missing to her. Luna in the MLP show always gave off an introvert who just has a hard time being a princess, the Equestria version had NONE of that and both bland design and character lol. Your Luna is cute and I LOVE that you kept the original hair and skin color, my only grip is that her outift looks very... uncomfortable. It screams business party with cute ballerina shoes. I could defintinly see Luna in a pant suit like her sister, in your re-write you mentioned them being 2 Dumbledores which is a smart idea, so I can imagine her dressing the part to fit in. The see-through pink boa (though cute) feels out of place. Maybe instead it could be a cute embroidered design on the outift? It gets tough when the color pallete is sooooo dark, especially with the dark blues and lighter shades of purple/lavender colors. Light Plum or a Dark Cranberry could work but has to be an accent color that can't just be tossed around, I googled some color palletes with dark blues and purples and it's definitely a good choice for neon retro vibes. Which Luna definitely gives off. The accessories though are very cute and match the aesthetic, I would definitely toss in some more sparkle since she is the brightest object in the sky at night lol. ANYWAYS sorry for the loooong comment, I just love the designs and I hope I was respectful with my criticism. Lots of love and happy new year!!! 😅😅😅💛
I always hated the fact Sunset Shimmer wasn't made the main leader of the EG Mane Six. It felt like such a lazy move to pretty much replace her with yet another Twilight. While I don't particularly hate Sci-Twi, I just wish she was just an occasionally reoccurring character rather than a main character. Sunset Shimmer's supposed to be bffs with the Mane Six and yet it feels like she's been shoved out of the friend group in favor of a character that once again, shouldn't even be a part of the main cast (I also adore the "main mean rich girl in an early 2000s shojo anime" hair you gave Sunset Shimmer!)
I love what you did for their designs you really did a good job for their outfits choices especially with derpy and sunsets I love how you incorporated the holographic jacket for derpy to give the bubble subtlety look. I overall just love how the end results turned out I'm so proud 🫰💖🎉

Hasbro saw Mattel winning with Ever After High so they needed someone on the fashion doll isle. And Luna's pony coat was probably too dark of a color for a skin tone

To answer why Luna looked so different, it seems like they went with her original design from before she turned into Nightmare Moon, when she was that younger princess Luna's design changing in the show seems to reflect her nightmare side a bit A bit of both of her 2 main looks I guess? That's what it seemed like to me anyways So her human self looks like she's in the in-between stage of her old and new designs Sunset Shimmer's look is definitely my fave! Love the outfit and how you changed her hair back to it's pony form, much better All these designs look great! Luna's is my 2nd fave Also, your concept for the college is way better than the original
Loved the original idea for Sunset to be glam rock! She totally gives me Roxy from FNAFSB vibes. What you ended up doing with her looks great though! The colors are awesome
here is a video analysis for no real reason: The explanation for the characters was great, and giving reason behind the design choices was also great. The time for each design was enough that you could provide a thorough explanation, but not too long that a watcher would get bored. Also, the reference to another video is a good strategy, it adds intrigue and encourages viewers to watch that video without explicitly telling them. I will say, that one of the flaws was that the final reveal was a bit too long, as after a viewer sees what they want, they might click off, or they could think the video is over and click off. Especially due to the fact that there's a short outro at the end, you want to keep that intrigue. Overall, great video, keep up the good work! :)
I think the Equestria girls being in high school kids was a corporate board interference. Your idea of it all taking place in a college is much better idea.

They look so good, love the college idea. Usually chalk up the age difference to it being an alternative universe with a different time-- i forgot the exact word I was gonna use oop. One example being a time ratio I like to use in AUs is 1 year in Human World is 5 years in Equestria (1:5 years timepass ratio). In the case of Twilight, she's young enough the portal goes "eh close enough". Considering how Celestia phrases things there's also a fair chance for Sunset's age range to be at max like also 20smth but more than likely she was younger when she fled Equestria, making her the same age if not awfully close to her peers. Hasbro hopping on that teen trend fr tho lol. So while high school is viable, college could still make more sense and be really interesting for a setting. Also Sunset's details flipping like,, the scars (AND YEAH I honestly give her scars in some designs [usually where her wings/tail were] and same for scitwi that her having them too would make sense), the headpiece, everything just

i like celestia and luna, i don't know if the outfits super fit them though celestia i can maybe see wearing that outfit on occasion but i feel her regular style would be a more regal flowy thing luna's colors are 100% on point but the outfit... it's off in a way i'm having a hard time finding the words for, i like the accessories, maybe leaning more into the 80's aesthetic might help?
