I cannot listen to this song without crying. I think about the things I've done, things I've said, places I've been. I wish I could turn back the clock to erase all those things. However, Jesus took care of that for me. For all of us, I know! Even now typing this tears flow. We all need acceptance. That's true. I'm so so thankful! So thankful for His forgiveness.

This is my all time favorite song, and I got to hear Crowder play this song live. God spoke to me then and told me that I was forgiven, and I got to let go of all my doubts that night. Thank you Crowder for the song, but most importantly thank you God for what you have done for me and for all of us. :'D
Crowder, you are one of the Christian composer and singer that your music speaks very loudly in my spirit, body and soul. From the first time I heard Forgiviness I started to cry, but it's a different cry. It comes from the spirit, there are no words that I can speak to express my gratitude to God for the Plan of Salvation. I am grateful to God for the men and women in the MINISTRY OF SALVATION that He uses to speak to us. one day we will meet and sing the HYMN OF VICTORY ALL TOGETHER.

this song is a very good song- i have a solo to this song with my friend the solo is “ive done thing i wish i havent done” that is mine, my friends is, “ ive seen things i wish i havent seen” then we sing together “just the thought of your amazing grace, and i cry jesus forgive me” I have to sing it tonight in front of alot of parents and at 130- 230 today i sang in front of the school my solo. this song means alot.
This is the first time I heard you Crowder, I was going through looking for a Contemporary Christian song, and I heard you sing Forgiven with Passion! God gave to me this song and your music! I too can't listen to this beautiful song without crying, because it's just great to know that no matter how much I've sinned, and think that I can't be forgiven, that God will forgive me and still love me.

It is a special song!✨🙌 And yes, you are absolutely right everybody needs to know they are loved, forgiven and I would also add understood ☺️ it's an important one for me at least...I cannot imagine how people who don't believe in God, how do they live?? 🤷 There's no love apart from God and people change their minds, they find a better person and they just leave and do whatever they want without caring...if it wasn't for God, I would be dead by now 10 times already 🤔🤷 Thank You Lord🙏💛 I still think I don't fully understand What You Are Doing for us...for me! And sometimes I forget and I can say the silliest stuff on the planet but I just can't be all that serious all the time cause I won't be able to take it...one thing I know...I can't live without You🙏💛
This song is so powerful for those who know the forgiveness and reconciliation in and through Christ Jesus. I listened to it and watched the video..needed tissue after since it was a heart cry not only for myself but for those who haven't heard or accepted His forgiveness

Well, it brought tears to MY eyes, that's for sure. Knowing the price He paid. Knowing how much I don't deserve it. Knowing I've ASKED for forgiveness. Knowing He WANTS to forgive the broken spirit and contrite heart.

Just remember: The Prodigal had to return to his father to receive the fruits of being forgiven.
The word of reconciliation is the good news of what was accomplished at Calvary that all our sins were imputed to Christ on the cross and paid for by his own shed blood, he was buried putting those sins away and out of God's sight forever and God raised him from the dead.
From God’s perspective this accomplishment at Calvary reconciled the world to himself making peace between God and man by solving the issue of our sin.
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
This had to be done because of the separation caused by Adam's sin that passed down to us all.
God did this amazing gift all by himself because of his love for us. Romans 5:8
God wants people to simply take Him at his word. To reconcile in there own minds ie come to the knowledge of the truth about His Grace gift.
All this was accomplished at Calvary for all men in order we would believe it and be justified, saved , and made the righteousness of God in Christ.
I thought this was a story of what the song was about. Like maybe it was a memory of his childhood, the man in prison was his grandfather (what was the destroyed house about?) and then him receiving the guitar from his dad at the end ...
John Crowder has made a very revelatory comment - Jesus was deserted twice in the Garden when they ran and hid -- first by Adam and Eve and the second time by the Disciples...and both times it involved a Crucifixion - the first time before the creation of the world (1 Peter 1:20).

The son is asking his Dad's forgiveness and is received with open arms, just as God forgives and loves us.
I believe its the dad asking for the son to forgive him of what he did and come back to his life. But also the dad is asking God to forgive him which he will always do if we genuinely ask for forgiveness. GOD loves us that much.
