@@Gingersnaps_the_pumpkin_kitty The New Testament writers did in fact use the Greco-Roman Hades and Tartarus as an image of the Christian version of the afterlife of the damned. Jesus himself often used the Hinnom Valley south of Jerusalem (Gehenna) as the image because it had been used first as a place where human sacrifice (by fire) was offered, and later as a garbage dump where the garbage was constantly being incinerated. You should feel lied to. Dreamworks' Sinbad was not accurate. Probably because it was fiction. Wikipedia has a fairly good article on Eris (Roman name Discordia). The myth is far better than what is portrayed in Sinbad. One of her exploits might even be the basis of the story of Sleeping Beauty.

Great video. Loved the end about Gunther's talents.
Make a video of the hole story of kratos in the god of war
His entire in-game story has already been covered by plenty of other channels with more time and a bigger budget but I definitely plan on doing a compare/contrast video with the original mythos!
I love getting these notifications!! Thanks Jon💕❤️
Anyone else got frustrated that Eris wasn't mentioned in this video, despite Sinbad, from dreamworks, basically showing her as the queen of Tartarus? I feel lied to.
@@LuinTathren Don't forget that Eris was the one to bring the golden apple and start the fight between goddesses that sparked the Tojan war!
Again, according to Dante's Inferno Phlegyas is the boatman of the river Styx that leads to the city of Dis on level 6, Heresy. So interesting to see the differences.
