That has to be an absolutely unreal experience for everyone involved, to own it, to build it and especially for Jonny to see one of his crazy concept drawings come full circle into a real creation, congrats to all 3, what an awesome job
Awesome for sure, but they sorta make it seem like they built it with one or two guys in just a week or two. There's a whole lot more man hours in it than they make it seem.
@5:20 it's funny that you can zoom in on UA-cam now and see that's not a rusty motor but it's dirt or coffee grinds put on the top of the rocker assembly lol I know it's for TV but come brotha...
What a Great Looking hot rod! And that is even better than my buddy who built a 1964 Econoline pickup with a tilt front end, over a 460" V8 and on a 3/4 ton 82 Ford chassis! It is a 1964 1/4 ton econoline pickup, and looks like the C-600 that I had at work, but smaller. He brought home 4,000 pounds of gravel when doing a project at home. What a awesome project! Should win first prize at any hot rod event!
I really love to watch Ian create he truly is a master at his craft. I sure wish he made a video finishing that Henry J though. That is a cool car as well.
This... this, is/was, has gotta be one of the wildest builds I have ever watched!!! Awesome comic design by Jonny, Fantastic build by Ian ... LOVE IT!!!
"... inspired by an artist..." At the beginning I thought it was a bit stupid really- just too arty/wacky. But you got in and did it and kept it true to the artist's intent, respecting the artist and applying awesome talent. The combination gave a spectacular outcome. Spectacular! I was wrong.
You 3 have inspired me to push on to finish my cars that have been on hold far too long. It is awesome to have the artist join the owner and fabricator to watch its birth. ❤
Absolutely Sick build none the less!!! Couldn’t help but laugh at the dirt and grime sprinkled across the the camshaft of the red engine haha. I know it’s for the clip. But the build is sick!!!
I love Ian's work (art ). I also am impressed with his shop crew who never seems to be seen!!😂 His creations just seem to hatch in his mind that somehow always come to fruition in the most spectacular way. He's truly one laid back dude. Making peoples dreams come true! He's so human, & he loves his dog.
5:21 love how the engine has intentional dust put under the valve cover to make it look rusty. That engine is spotless inside besides the dust pan being dumped for a staged show.
That vw hot rod turned out so nice and I expected it to, i have been amazed how you can just make it happen, that looks like something ed roth would have done 50 years ago
This has got to be one of the best little hot rods I have ever seen. I am new to your channel and every episode I checkout seems to blow my mind even more than the one before it. I can't wait to see what comes next!! 🤘😁👍
The Henry J was a cool vehicle. It got well over 35 MPG, but gas was 22 cents a gal in 1951. Nobody cared about small efficient cars. It was also the first car with tail fins !
I saw a guy build a Henery J about 40 years ago, did beautiful work, bodywork, chassis, chevy independant front suspention, all beautiful welding. EXCEPT, he got the caster angle all backwards. Couldn't hold it straight for shit. and it was beyond what I could fix with any kind of reasonable shims or adjustments. Went backwards really good though, you could reverse down the street at like 45 and it was all stable as hell.
I remember seeing a bunch of those shortened VW busses in Rhode Island in the mid 1970s, thought they were pretty cool. That car is literally a rolling piece of art.
"One sick ride' is exactly what I would say. Ian, where is your channel??? I have several of your DVDs and Love your work. You defiantly inspired me. P.s. Y'all bought a marine engine, it runs counter clock wise. Surprised your tranny works.
Nice job on the Henry J I put a 409 in mine cus thats what we had but it was fun even though it was terrible. we were just 19 and had no Idea what we were doing.
That was an amazing project, going from a drawing to real life Reminds me of the custom '67 mustang i drew in the 80s and 4 years later, after a lot of hard work i was driving it,now because of physical limitations, i still manage to create things but on a smaller scale, so i build and ride chopper style bicycles
Hi Ian and Jamie hope you’re doing well that’s the Best one your built don’t get me wrong all your builds are Awesome like yourself and I didn’t really like VW but your changed my mind can not wait for the Beatle Wagon your building now your a Genius like I keep telling everyone take care both of you James from Australia 🇦🇺👍🏻🙏👏😎
Had a VW micro bus, back in the late 60s, with the sliding roof and windows all around the roof, can't imagine what JOHNNY & IAN could do with it nowadays! Awesome talents come together, for fantasic results! 🤯
Amazing concept made real………Now, I’m looking forward to the Henry J as that is my all time favorite hot rod….Streetable but likely a 10 second drag car hits all the bells at the same time. The VW plain old kicks ass in every way as well…
That turned out really sick man. Way cool and awesome looking glad this video came across my suggestion list. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing an artist at work. 👍
That thing is so cool when I Invision a Vw Thing thats what it should have looked like just Badass after seeing all together and moving under it's own power the back tail lights aka brake lights would look Sickk with those purple dots like custom choppers have when u hit the brakes it gives the look of purple & the dot on the lenses would give the ass end a wicked look ...so cool only way that Thing could look any cooler is with a big blower Sitting on top the motor Sheeesh.. i have a Strange feeling ur Booking Schedule is about 2 get Crazy bizz with $ peeps wanting their own Johnny Jolopy concept inspired Hotrod Just Top Tier in my Opinion...👍👍
I used to own a VW camper van, upgraded engine to super high performance Porsche maxed out with headers. It would lift the front wheels off the ground. I’m 67 now and wish I had held onto that one. Those were the days….
It's always a pleasure to watch Ian at work. He makes everything look so simple and easy no matter what difficulties' pop up.
You are the true artest in this build buddy. anybody can draw a car. But not everybody can build a car. Its looks fantastic. 👍👍
This is the coolest car I have ever seen in my 58 years
That has to be an absolutely unreal experience for everyone involved, to own it, to build it and especially for Jonny to see one of his crazy concept drawings come full circle into a real creation, congrats to all 3, what an awesome job
Awesome for sure, but they sorta make it seem like they built it with one or two guys in just a week or two.

Looks good and fun 😀 👍

If it can be drawn, it can be built! Ian is a next level fabricator and shows it in this build.

Ian is a true master of his craft. This build is by far the best I have ever seen.
This is my first time finding this series, that has to be one of the Coolest designs I've ever SEEN!!!
I really love to watch Ian create he truly is a master at his craft. I sure wish he made a video finishing that Henry J though. That is a cool car as well.
Me to I've been watching and waiting to see the Henry J finished as well 😏!!!!
Ian’s wicked crafty I remember a old roadster he built along time ago he used the steal toes out of his boots for air scoops looked dope!
Ian can build anything with very few tools/equipment to work with. The man is an amazing craftsman/fabricator with skills that are out of this world.
creativety is his biggest tool. Never saw him angry and trhowing stuff around
This... this, is/was, has gotta be one of the wildest builds I have ever watched!!! Awesome comic design by Jonny, Fantastic build by Ian ... LOVE IT!!!

Ian is one of the Best and Smartest fabrication guys I have ever seen!!! Love watching his TV shows!! Need more of them
Lordy, Lordy, you are a genius Ian !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll take two, please. One yellow and the other red. I am amazed and in awe of your skills and creations, not to mention your problem-solving skills.
The smiles on peoples faces says it all ! Such a fun project.
Ian is one of the most creative GOATs I've ever seen. I'd be honored to have him build me a ride
I love Ian's work (art ). Go to his page, you’ll see him doing all the work. The short time is due to editing. When other people get involved in the build, they are shown
@@ShaunHensley 👈👍🏻🕸
Love all the attention at the car show! And compliments from the car guys/ gals.
Amazing Grace ! What a cool ride . You guys nailed it ! A chrome VW logo on the grill would be a nice touch tho . thx for sharing . Ian you rock !
What a truly amazing collaboration to create a car that's awesome and a life-size Hor Wheels car!!
I'm impressed as always thank you for sharing
5:21 love how the engine has intentional dust put under the valve cover to make it look rusty. That engine is spotless inside besides the dust pan being dumped for a staged show.
I enjoy seeing the dog around the shop ! 🤠👍
Enjoy this show very much. The best part is there is not 4 minutes of commercial every 6 minutes. minutes.
That vw hot rod turned out so nice and I expected it to, i have been amazed how you can just make it happen, that looks like something ed roth would have done 50 years ago
Absolutely top shelf brother, craftsman extraordinaire!
