As the owner of a collection of over 430 tiaras (mostly replicas), I've used the Sharpie trick to colour clear CZs and rhinestones into very believable rubies, emeralds, sapphires, etc. on many tiaras. Sharpie ink is alcohol-based, so to soften and blend colours, I use pure vodka on a cotton swab. To remove the colour and start over, I use strong rubbing alcohol on a cloth or cotton swabs.
I use the sharpie trick all the time. In Australia it can be challenging to source exactly what I need, when I need it. I love that on resin the sharpie stays translucent for the first few layers. Alcohol inks are also good, such as Piñata. It's not something most people have laying around, so using sharpies is a great, cheap option.
I love this collection so much! Is it possible if you can make the Sovereign’s Sceptre? I already have the Orb and this crown but I can’t find a video that makes it. It would be amazing if you make it. Thank you! ❤❤
You could make the Black Prince's Ruby (actually a red spinel) look more realistic by adding a very thin layer of brown Sharpie ink to it. For more realism, you could add a small "ruby" just below the "one o'clock" position on the Ruby. The real Ruby has one to fill the hole that was drilled to wear the stone, centuries ago.
The resin ruby I made actually has the additional small ruby detail! It is difficult to see in the video but it's there. The hole in the main ruby was for a feather, a fascinating detail. The resin ruby is darker in colour, the room lighting makes it appear a lighter shade of red in the videos. Thanks for taking the time to comment 🙂
Yes Ricky, you have great attention to detail. There are actually four pearls that hang from the centre under the ball. I didn't include them in this version.
@@QueenBustle So excited for this. I'm currently buying the pieces bit by bit for the ISC whenever I get money. Once that is complete, I shall make either the St Edward's Crown or Queen Mary crown!
Merci ROYAL DIY.
Maybe do one of these for Queen Alexandra's crown? Queen Mary's and Queen Elizabeth's consort crowns both look the same and they're very well known and reproduced a lot. I really like the look of Queen Alexandra's consort crown. Maybe you could make one?
The cross pattée is about 5cm square and the pentagons about 16cm long. To make it super easy, I've created the full patterns and instructions. These are available from my website www.queenbustle.com/shop

I agree, finding a crystal or resin mould to match the magnificence of the Cullinan II was impossible within the time constraints. If you spot one, let me know!

I could make the crown for any queen consort, Queen Alexandra, Maria, Elizabeth or Camilla. I'm sure they would turn out spectacular!!!
Or what would be your next project?
I have finished Queen Marys crown in the style Queen Camilla wore at King Charles coronation. Video will be posted soon!

Excellente suggestion ! Oui, ma première pensée concerne les conduites d'eau d'irrigation. Faire le sceptre en or sera un grand défi.
Great video! I’m going to try to make my own one of these days! You should make the Imperial Crown of Russia next or in a future video!
