Let's step into the way back machine: Carlos Santana's first public performance recorded on vinyl [ 33.33 RPM] was on The Live Adventures of Michael Bloomfield & AL Kooper at the Fillmore ( September 1968). Skip Prokop was the drummer for this recording, so Carlos and Skip go way back to the days when Carlos was just a hired hand filling in for Michael Bloomfield [ the incurable insomniac]. I believe he played lead guitar on Sonny Boy Williamson.Aloha Carlos & Cindy how's everything back on the Island?
Certain songs are known for the horn section and this is one. I believe horns would have made this cover even better but they definitely were not necessary.
"Home Cookin" was my band in the 70's-80's was based out of the Bay Area. I met Carlos while I worked for Guitar Center San Francisco a few times and played his guitars which was the Yamaha SG2000. He was so gracious and kind. I will never forget!
