- After removing the roof of the first shrine, a huge pall with gold rosettes hanging on a frame was revealed. It covered two more shrines below. The golden rosettes on the pall were reminiscent of the underworld with a star-saturated night sky. In the background, part of the mural can be seen, which had already been spotted with mold when Carter found it.

Awsome present ation
What could have possibly caused fungus to spread around the tomb if it's been sealed for more than 3000 years? Let alone the moisture. the weather is humid and the desert was always hot across seasons so it could be impossible for it to form inside underground.
The fungus formed 3,200 years ago when the tomb was sealed with the paint still wet.
@@mgn5678 3,300. And yep it was a rush job.
You sure didn't talk much about the Pall, how about how it was conserved? How big was it? You should research before posting. The Pall was a very interesting item, rarely talked or written about. The fungus was cause by moisture in the tomb when it was sealed-the body was still wet from the oils poured over it when it was put in the coffin. Also, the crack in the ceiling allowed water to seep in at times the Valley experienced rain. The more you know.
