Great video and tidbit of info.

Thanks. Yep, the source of the 0.8V was really enlightening to me. Don't know why I didn't see it previously on the parts board.

Nice walk through! Is there a way that doesn't require the need to replace faulty chips to keep a board functioning? Like modifying the PCB to skip power delivery/hashing to a faulty chip? Or is that not possible. New to the ASIC world and your video have been very informative. Thanks! ✌🏻

I'm glad the videos are helping you get up to speed in the world of ASICs. I've tried bypassing a chip on the PCB before, but it doesn't workout too well. Could it be done, possibly. Should it be done [shrug]. Keep in mind, each domain (column) of chips is consuming 1.6V of the 21V on the card. So if you bypass a chip, or a few chips in a domain, you are going to change the resistance for that domain and throw things out of balance.
The Stasic Board tester is supposed to have a new feature where it will do chip level testing without having to remove the chip. Couple that with a reliable chip tester if you are using recycled chips and you could definitely reduce the number of chips you replace. Assuming the problem is a bad chip and not something else.

@@iagmr Thank you for the insightful response! The boards definitely must have been running too hot cuz some heatsinks slipped off the chips and some even fell off the board completely. I managed to heatup some of the heatsinks that could slide back over the chips but the ones that fell off are pretty damaged. Bypassing chips now sounds like it's out of the question. Replacing them might be the only option. Are you still running your discord? Was going to post some pics there but the link was down.

Hi, I have some boards that need repaired. Do U repair them as a biz?

Hi there swfsecurityman1, I don't have the business set up to repair boards yet. I invite you to the Discord Antminer Repair channel (discord.gg/wKQq388a) where you can find several shops that repair boards.

Please what is the name of your tester

@anastacianikoleava2949 that is the Team Miner tester from @teamminer6093. You can check out their UA-cam channel if you understand Thai. They do not seem to offer any support. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this tester. Look at the ARC or Stasic instead as they appear to offer ongoing support and updates.
