Mangamalo will actively try to throw whatever monster it has in its jaws at you if your staying still. It can really catch new hunters of guard as you would usually lure monsters towards each other as a diversion, but Manga still hasn’t forgotten you and will try to get a double kill each time

Magnamalo and Malzeno almost tells a story, the two both have "blades" on their tails, so they clash a few time then have a beam clash that ends in a a tie. Amazing

The turf war for me amounts to a corrupted knight from the west vs a disgraced ronin from the east, clashing blades to decide who is truly worthy of regaining some semblance of redemption and who shall forever remain in dishonour.
Zinogre vs Lunagaron is so friggin cool, best turf war by far.
Two wolves squaring off and going into their supercharged states by howling? The first time I saw it my jaw dropped so hard I forgot I was hunting the Zinogre! It’s even cooler when you realize Zinogre is actually weak to ice, and still knocked the crap out of Lunagaron!
Magnamalo vs Malzeno was also sweet. The sound design of their blades clashing with the DBZ explosion at the end? Sweet.
You make a good case for the two wolves being the best turf war 🤩

One interesting thing to notice in Magnamalo's Turf Wars:
When he's fighting an Elder Dragon or a Flying Wyvern in a turf war and they fight up in the sky, he's going to aim his fall at the player and it will hit the hunter if he stays still.
For a fanged wyvern that purple boi is pretty evil.
The bubbles are from Mizutsune's tail. Those are soap bubbles and if you get hit by them and you're in a damp area you'll slip around while running
For the record, a fanged wyvern is roughly in the middle of the food chain. They are mostly predatory large monsters like Magnamalo or Tobi-Kadachi but not at the top of the food chain like Flying Wyverns(your Rathian, Rathalos, Diablos etc.) or Elder Dragons
Soap bubbles. That’s actually kind of endearing for Mitzune 😊
If 2 elder dragons fight each other it could destroy the entire land but since its a game they don't show it on turf wars that's why they are known as walking disasters

A few things:
The one where you said "I think this is the first kill!", that was the monster Somnacanth and it has the ability to put monsters (and hunters) to sleep. If you look closely, you will see little snoring bubbles above the monster and the hunter, who was about to fall asleep.
The little "heart" is actually the indicator that you can now ride the monster. Monster riding is a HUGE part of the gameplay in Monster Hunter: Rise, and the best way to make that happen is to trigger a fight between two monsters.
And last, but not least, please don't ever call it a "threesome fight" again lol there's already bad enough fanart about monsters in this game as it is 🤣

Rathian and Rathalos often share the same turf war interactions since they are technically the same species, just female and male dimorphism at play with the female being green and the male red

11:54 the Pink leviathan is a Mizutsune, those balls he was spewing were actually soap bubbles
Mizu can create a slippery liquid to prevent its prey from escaping, it actually effects the player too, by making them slide around uncontrollably during battle

Rajang has a default Turf War with any Flying wyvern by grabbing their tails and smacking them around to the ground
Bazel, however, _is the only flying wyvern that fights back,_ Bazel yanks its tail free from his hands, and nose dives the monkey into the ground
So at 4:10 Magnamalo is a creature that can’t normally fly. Rather it builds up a unique gas behind it and then ignites it to explode, launching himself skyward. That fact Magnamalo does this to specifically take down flying creature like Rathalos is impressive. Also you mentioned why no monsters fight back while being piledrived. Two Elder Dragons, Teostra And Kushala Daora, actually do! Upon hitting the ground they release a blast of fire or icy wind to blow Magnamalo back a tiny bit. Real neat.
11:20 is a battle between Espinas and Kushala Daora. A Flying Wyvern and an Elder Dragon. It’s said in older games from 2005 that Espinas beats Kushala in matches all the times because Kushala is extremely weak to poison and Espinas is covered in venomous spines. Not to mention it always spends its time low to the ground and bunkered up while also being very heavy, making Kushala’s wind manipulation useless against it. We didn’t get to see these two fight until Sunbreak, since Espinas beforehand was locked to a shut down Japanese game without cool interactions like this.
Oh dang. That’s cool that the fire and ice wind is an intentional defense mechanism 😀
12:28 Is probably my favorite Turf War in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. It subtlety conveys a lot of information about the two monsters. Gore Magala (The big black one) is strong, but it's also inexperienced. It's basically a baby elder Dragon, and up until it met Seregios it probably just overpowered any monster it came across with pure brute strength or just scaring it off with intimidation. This doesn't work with Seregios, and instead of being intimidated away, Seregios takes advantage of the opportunity of Gore stopping it's assault to land a counter-attack and "win" the encounter so to speak.
Plus, what with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate essentially being the first Monster Hunter I played, it should be no surprise that I'm a bit biased to a turf war between the two flagships of 4U.
So certain turf wars repeat because of two reasons, reason one is because of their type. Each monster has a classification or 'type' flying wyvern, brute wyvern and so on, so each one has certain traits that are common to those types.
Reason 2 is the monster's 'skeleton' each monster is designed around a 'skeleton' which is basically the framework of the monsters body that is used to animate them. Certain monsters share 'skeletons' with each other, like Rathalos, and Rathian share the same skeleton so they just give them the same animations. Another monster that share skeletons are Nargacuga and Tigrex, while they move differently their bodily structure is more or less the same.
Also fun fact Magnamalo's turf wars are unique in that it's the only turf war that can hurt a hunter not only that but it's the *only* monster to actively target a hunter in a turf war. Also Magnamalo cannot 'fly' but it can 'jump good' by using explosions to propel it up into the sky.
Oh boy you didn't see the Rajang and Bazelgeuse Turf War, that is an awesome turf war, if you guys see turf wars again I'd recommend looking up Rajang vs Bazelgeuse because of how awesome and unique it is.

The one with the impressive wings is gore magala. Thing is, even though seregios got a hit in it was dead the moment it got hit by that blast. Frenzy virus canonically is no joke and gore magala spreads it at will.

9:20 That’s the indicator for the wyvern riding function, Rise’s mounting function equivalent but with a twist, utilizing the wirebugs to puppeteer the rideable monsters’s movements to move and attack other monsters to build up into a finisher before dismounting.
10:12 Nope, just the “actor’s” choice, you have the option to not wear armor but leaves you without any added defense or the passive skills that come with them.

As to why some of the turf wars looked similar, this is mostly because of shared “skeletons”, in game production terms this is the basic model for animating everything that the rest of the model is built upon, ie Nargacuga, Tigrex, and Barioth, who are all species of Flying Wyverns, and then the Rath-s sharing the same skeleton for the obvious reasons.

The absolute best is in World (which began turf wars)... Rajang vs Deviljho features a literal Godzilla 2016 or 2014 reference in the Rajang wrenches open Jho's jaws and fires a mouth lazer directly down its throat. Also has a feeling of Godzilla vs Kong

Magnamalo is a tiger wyvern. Plus its youkai counterpart would have to be a noroimusha, a spectral cursed samurai.

Magnamalo and malzeno are so equal on tactics and sheer raw power that their turf war against eachother is always gonna cancel eachother out with both taking insane damage. Its by far the only turf war that i know of that ends in a beautiful sight and an insanely intense draw
That's so called first kill you saw wasn't a kill the fish looking monster called somnacanth put the bird looking monster called aknosom to sleep with the sleep ailment so it dident kill it it just put it to sleep.
EDIT: I also wanted to say that the reason why there are so many of the same Turf Wars is because most of them are the same monster but a different version of that monster like a variant or sub species.

I find it hilarious that all of the clips cut right when the monster changes their attention to the hunter and is about to bite the hell out of them

Best part of mangamalo is that it doesn't have wings, it's flying by using explosions to launch itself up. which is also how it slams into the ground. Just by using explosions over and over to move around, so cool.
As the player started from Monster Hunter 4G, It is so excite when I see Gore Magala fights to Sergios. (Gore Magala is the poster monster of MH4. Sergios is the poster monster of MH4G)
A big complaint the community has with turf wars is how repetitive some of them are. Magnamalo (the one with purple fire) only has 2 unique ones, one with malzeno and the one that's used for pretty much every flying monster.
Cut them some slack, each turf war can’t be unique unless you want to wait another year for the game. There is a lot of turf wars that are different.
And to be fair, besides flying wyverns and elder dragons the other species of large monsters aren't stupid enough to pick a fight with Magnamalo........

Generally speaking, the monster with the triangle is the "loser", though some monsters have such absurd health or resistance that they might have lost the battle, but losing the war is probably not on the cards. There are also very VERY obvious dev favorites like Magnamalo and Rajang that win fights regardless of whom they're up against because "am hero monster". The main designer also for some reason doesn't particularly like Bazelgeuse so he loses a lot of fights because reasons, even though his whole schtick is picking targets of opportunity in the middle of a fight and he "doesn't afraid of anything" like Devil Jho. Nargacuga also generally punches above his weight as well owing to "am a ninja jaguar".
The Turf Wars in World are longer and more involved while in Rise/Sunbreak they are often more decisive with a clear victor. Diablos is also very screamy, and indeed most creatures are Wyverns.
Yeah we picked up on their favorites as well and noticed the Rajang just dominated every time 🧐
I feel like the reason Bazel gets tossed around in so many Turf Wars is because it has a wyvern build, making it a lot easier to slap on generic wyvern animations that would result in it losing and adding an explosion at the end to signify a "tie."
Rajang, who is supposed to be about the same level in power, has so many more clear victories due to having a unique skeleton(at least in this game) that they have to tailor make animations for.

Rajang is even more unforgivable when you realize that Kirin is probably the most tame, chill, and overall peaceful Elder Dragons, granted its because its so sure of itself it knows nothing dare attack so it doesnt mind you being there so long as you dont full stalk it

If you want to watch other interesting monsters interactions maybe the pin attacks or the special move could be a good alternative.
The part where you where wondering how early in the game it was because of lack of armour was the end of the game, but Monster Hunter Rise has an option where you can turn off armour appearance, or if you think you are good enough, you can just go without.

My guild hates my little dragon thunder pony so much I'm imperium level indoctrinated to on sight the unicorn when ever were ever ,in a hunt a turf war with DK Rajang started, after kirin was going to leave my friend unloaded dragon shot into it an stunned it an we didn't let up and so began our tradition of try to hunt every creature on the map before doing the objective hunt. The end😌

Turf Wars are probably the best things they've added from World/Icebroune, kinda wish they brought back the passive natures that the monsters had preiously though.

I've always wanted to see all the turf wars to Rise, I'm disappointed to see that a bunch of them are literally copy and pasted animations. That aside, great reactions all round!

The whole "wyverns aren't dragons" needs to stop. Yes, these days the word dragon invokes a pretty specific image. But there really isn't straight answer to what a dragon is. There's a description of a dragon in china, which basically just a weirder unicorn. Which is in this game series. Also in the elder dragon category in this game? A weird floating octopus kind of a thing. Eastern dragons don't even have wings and are shaped more like snakes and have deer antlers. I'm sorry, but dragons aren't real and we can't give them a taxonomical description. And even if we could, dragon would be more like shark kind of a thing. You'd be an idiot if you said that hammer head sharks aren't sharks, because their heads are shaped funny.
Wyvern is a type of a dragon.
Edit: I'm aware that in England (and England only) they had this separation. But I don't really care. There's a reason why hating the bri'ish is common.
