My former roommate is a Type 7 and one time she was making a key lime pie and the recipe called for condensed milk. She accidentally bought caramel instead. If it was me, I would have counted the recipe as a loss and just waited until I had the chance to go to the store again, but when I asked her what she was going to do she told me she was just going to use the caramel instead. She ended up making one of the most delicious pies I've ever tried. I would have never thought that lime and caramel would work well together, but they totally did.
My dad is a seven, and years ago our family was out to dinner, and my grandma accidentally spilled her Dr. Pepper over my dinner, which was steak. She offered to buy me another meal, but my dad was like, “well, why don’t you *try your steak? You might like it!” 🤣
I'm a 5w4. I only cook with aesthetically pleasing things, and I pause what I'm doing all the time to go do research on a random thought that popped into my head. This is legit🤣
I’m a 1. “I appreciate it, but I don’t.” 😂 spot on. And my husband is an 8w7... Don’t tell him what to do and he will put as much of whatever the heck he wants in it. 😂
Oh my goodness, you and I are in the same boat. I'm a 1W9, he's an 8W9. He thinks he's helping me when he unloads the dishwasher. I appreciate the effort, but I have to put things back where they belong. To intentionally annoy me, when putting away steak knives he will align them to the left, then the right. There is a big gap in the middle. Because he puts ONE knife where the salad forks belong. Overall though, he's a keeper!!! 😁👍
I’m a one - not only does my silverware drawer look like this, I load them in the dishwasher by category so I can easily put away! My husband and daughter are trained, too.😂❤️
I always organise the cutlery in the dishwasher. I want to scream when someone puts a knife into the spoon compartment, or when someone dumps the whole thing out on the counter and then sorts it out to pack it away. It was already sorted!
Yes I to have a perfectly organised cutlery draw, crockery cupboard, linen press etc. And I have trained the family accordingly. I hate the sort of help that otherwise makes more work for me.
omg! i was confused if i'm a one or three type but NOW I'M SURE! i do that dishwasher organising thing and tell my mom to do that way too. she doesn't listen to me lol but i knew this is the easiest and best way to do dishes and i'm so happy to finally meet someone like me 😂
YES!! The SIX! SO me -- gloves for raw meat, and dang, yeah, I'ma use the meat thermometer to make sure it's done all the way through. (Also, NEVER mix chopping boards -- plastic for meat, never wood for that, and whatever for veggies, but ALWAYS SEPARATE, y'all.) And wash your hands 8,000 times while cooking. It's THE RULE.
YES! Cooking chicken stresses me out! Chicken juices getting on things, is it cooked through? Will we all get food poisoning because I missed raw chicken juice on something!? Augghhh!!
Lmao, I'm a 6 too (6w5). I have separate cutting boards and sperate knives for meat and veggies/fruits ! I also make sure to wash all the dishes in the sink before washing the bowls/utensils I used with the meat/chicken to avoid all that nastiness lol
I'm a four and my first instinct was, "I'm not that bad." Then I look over at the kitchen at see my collection of pretty aprons, and teacups....oops. (and no I don't have a butterchurn sitting on the counter but I do have a vintage copper and glass mulled wine warmer which may be worse)
One here- when I had roommates we didn’t have a silverware organizer at first. And then we just never got one. For awhile I was unwavering in my pursuit to organize the silverware but, unsurprisingly, it would always get mixed up. And then I found how freeing it was to take the silverware straight from the dishwasher and throw it into the drawer. It has stayed with me ever since. My whole house is super organized but the silverware drawer is my one area of delightful chaos 🤣
This one hit too close to home. 😁 The type 5 started & my husband & 17 year old son both stopped looking at their phones & just started watching me. 😳 I couldn't stop giggling. 😂 Once it got to talking about baking being like chemistry 🤣🤣 We all just started bursting out laughing!
As a 5, the baking section is spot on. I mean, Alton Brown is my favorite TV cook. All the science behind how cooking and baking works. But cooking is one of the few areas where I relate with the 2s so much more. Weird how that works.
As a 9 with a 1 wing, I would lose my sh*^ if my husband moved my spices. Luckily for me, I married a 3. He's too busy to even know how the spice cabinet works. And yes, there is a learning curve to it. 😉
I'm a type 5, but I actually LOVE to cook. I will also admit that I have said out loud more than once that I love cooking mainly because it's all like a science experiment. You nailed that bit. I've also bought so many precise cooking tools that a lovely cashier at my local Bed Bath and Beyond asked me if I was a pastry chef. I've also signed up for online culinary classes (pandemic free time) and love learning about cooking techniques that I can use across many recipes. Developing my own recipes is also a joy. Thanks for the laugh!
Yes, so accurate the way you described 5s here. This is me to a T including the online cooking classes. I keep trying to get family members to sign up for the Air B&B online experiences cooking classes, even though they are on Zoom, which I hate, haha, but the new knowledge/techniques from so many different cultures overrides that for me. I'd love to hear what online cooking classes you've found, if you care to share?🙂
@@melissamulkey1033 Hi Melissa! Thank you for sharing. I signed up for classes with Chef Todd Mohr. He was having a special deal at the beginning of the pandemic and I jumped on it. If you don't want to spend the money there are a lot of great chefs on You Tube that I've learned a lot from as well. In my apartment we have about 3-4 different sets of dishes cause that’s how apartments roll. I’m a 9w1 and my wing comes out whenever I unload the dishwasher, I end up stacking the dishes by style. It looks nicer and some sizes stack on top better than others.
YES!!!! For how "lazy" we 9s are portrayed, I (9w1) will spend the whole afternoon rearranging the dishes and silverware to be neat, grouped, and orderly after my preteen son "completes his chore" all the while muttering under my breath how easy it would be if he just took a little more time to take pride in a job well done! All the while the rest of the house is in chaos because I am too tired to clean! But the silverware drawer could be in a magazine so it gives me peace! 😜 I sorta like his help, and I sorta don't! Thanks for the chuckle! Smiles, Abby Smith
You two make the funniest videos out of all the different personality theories. Not only funny but also infotaining. These videos probably make the Enneagram my favorite personality theory. Its funny because these types are out there in different doses.
So I'm a 9 and when I first watched this video, I was like "Nope that's not me with the passive aggressive chopping." And then my husband, who is already allergic to nuts, announced that he is also going to start following the FODMAP diet which cuts out all kinds of other foods. IT'S FINE lol. I'm supportive, but I'm the one who does all the cooking and meal planning, so.... that's fun.
OMG that was insanely awesome! You totally nailed my 2-ness "It should take as long as humanly possible" I'm dying with laughter. Also particularly enjoyed the 1 and 5. You ladies are so freakin' funny!!
I’m a five and my idea of “cooking” is cutting up veggies or fruit and topping them with something appetizing like nuts or yogurt or rice packs or nice bottled dressing 😂 That’s literally it! The clutter and mess of cooking don’t work with me 😁 I do like baking bread, though.
I identified a little with almost all of them. LOVE to cook and bake, enjoy everything organized and pretty, but I get creative and almost always change the recipe a little. And enjoy music in the kitchen too, and cooking for my family is my favorite thing, especially during the cozy winter months!
This is one of my faves! My favourite part was the 6 using the thermometor, and then revealing she was checking the carrot, not the chicken. DYING!!!! 🤣 I'm a type 9w1, but I'm also single so I don't need to worry about other's needs in the kitchen. However, when I'm cooking with friends I certainly want to be more controlling, but don't know how to assert myself. Also, my friend is a 7, and while she's cooking/baking with me and our friends, whatever task she's assigned to usually burns, or I have to take over. Not because she's incapable of cooking, but she usually end up dancing or talking with us and she completely forgets she was supposed to be watching the food. Also, she never sets a timer for anything! I can't even....it blows my mind!!! One time she was baking cookies and at some point is asked "how much longer for the cookies?" She asks "oh, do you think they're done?" I'm like, "I don't know, didn't you set a timer?" "No, I'll go look at them now," she says. She looks, "I don't think they're done." She returns to talk with us... After a few minutes, we repeat most of this conversation. She pulls them out and bottoms are burnt. We found humour in it, but I seriously couldn't fathom that she made cookies without a timer.
4w3 here- you're both so wonderful- I love it! I don't cook- my teenage daughter is an 8 so she takes complete control in the kitchen and Im happy to let her. I refuse to buy papertowels and napkins or plastic utensils- this drivers her insane.
also... my cooking teen whos an 8 gets irritated that she has to do tedious things like peel the garlic or measure anything, so most of what we eat is undercooked and has an entire unpeeled bulb of garlic sitting in the center...but I love that she's expressing herself and that she sees how much work went into feeding her in the 9 years that I actually did cook :)
"Of all the places in this world I like to overextend myself emotionally, I think the kitchen might be my favourite." :') 2w1 here and feel completely called out! :')
I knew Scott Hoying was a 7, but I had to laugh at how on point all the music stuff thrown in there was :D :D. Also, the anger behind the 9. It's fine. It's fine. I don't feel attacked at all. It's ok :D :D :D.
If I ever doubted I was a 5, this video would be proof of it. Only baking or very specific recipes for this gal, because chemistry. But wearing a vintage apron because wing 4. 😆
As a type 9 I have never in my life followed an exact recepy (even though I cook and bake often). I always need to leave room for creativity and intuition😄. And yes in my household I need to cook different dishes as well!
My 5 husband has literally made the same comments about his grandma’s recipes that have no measurements 😂 he also brews beer because it’s such a precise process.
Okay, as a 6 I check what I cook so frequently that I nearly hover over it. I think I've never experienced my 5 wing in the kitchen. I like free forming where I can.
Me too, but I’ve taken the online test twice and I get 3. I really do not relate to the 3 though, unless a small bit at work? 1w2 is me every time I watch these.
I am a 7. When she started throwing celery everywhere it reminded me of a video that I completely forgot I took when I was 11. Of me cutting up celery. And then throwing it all over the kitchen. This is scary accurate.
I'm a 9. Spot on! But I'm married to a 5. He doesn't cook, but watches Alton brown. So he always has an opinion on what I'm doing 🙄 I'm keto and my family is kinda picky. So I do end up making a lot of sides, or something frozen and fast and I eat cheese. No in between 🤣
I’m a true 5 but my 4 wing allows me to be creative and deviate from a recipe and also own some vintage items. BUT, I know the science behind why I’m cooking what I’m cooking and have done the research to know how different ingredients and cooking methods will change the outcome of a dish. 🤓🤓
As a 5w6, nope, cooking is very much science. Ingredients go through certain chemical reactions to achieve certain results, and certain combinations stimulate your palate in certain ways. Know your science, and you can cook your perfect steak which tastes perfect, has the perfect texture, and is perfectly safe to eat. :P
Omg I watched the 8 and I laughed so hard at myself then I thought... I do make good smoothies. And then I got mad when I saw the kids spit out the smoothie. YOU EAT WHAT MOMMY MADE YOU I HAVE TO GET BACK TO WORK! 🤣 But really I'm trying to get away from frozen.
Okay. I really identified with the 1 this time. I would have my silverware drawer set up like that, but my new drawers don't fit my old silverware tray. My house might be a disorganized mess, but my drawers aren't! Baking is awesome because it is like chemistry. Cooking is awesome, too, because I can riff.
Love how you changed the 4s "thing" to essential oils in general 😂 probably a smart move considering what's going on with.. that company Awesome video, btw. Vintage utensils are absolutely necessary 💖
@@LovingLifeasEmma young living keeps getting in trouble for branding their products as injestable. Plus the guy that runs it isn't an actual doctor, and apparently has a pretty rough history so people are losing trust. The whole thing's seems like a pyramid scheme :/ But I'm not an expert so please don't take this as fact 😅
I am a hard core One. The silverware drawer makes me want to scream because it is so messy. Also, the fast food cup with the straw in the background is distracting me because it needs to be thrown away. So I'd say you do a pretty good job on the One's. 😁😁😁🙋 Confession, my fridge is labeled, and my cupboards are in alphabetical order. Keep up the great work. These are so good!!!
OMG, I died at 9. "My husband rearranged the kitchen again. He's a 7." Yes! I'm a 7. My husband is a 3, but he doesn't like change. Since the Kitchen is the one area of the house I have 100% control over, I move shit like once a month.
I am 6 wing 5. I don't freak out about touching stuff and worry about safety for that, but I do check the timer (which I always set) and items on stove/in oven so often. I have a hard time just sitting. We do have a set of go to recipes, but I do love to experiment with new recipes.
I'm a 6 and I def over check my proteins when they are cooking. I almost always sacrifice one chicken breast by just cutting into it so many dang times checking the center, that by the end..one is completely sabotaged and the pets end up getting that one lol but I'm w7.. especially w that garlic lol just add and add and add and add until someone says it smells like garlic in here lol 😆
7w8 - “I don’t like anything telling me exactly what to do” 😳 Recipes are suggestions/starting points. And I constantly lose the little tops on my spices. How are you supposed to get enough out with those little stop signs?? Weird thing is I do enjoy cooking, but due to renovations currently have no kitchen. So for the first time ever I have those exact microwave rice and frozen chicken!! Are they watching me??
5w4 here. Little more 4 this time: Have a ton of china teacups and dinnerware, refuse to buy disposable plates and non-compost disposable utensils, and was just thinking about buying a lemon-themed apron. But 5 got me with the exact measurement cups (for new recipes only), the tried and true staple recipes and spices to make ea thing taste good without frills, and need to have cookie dough/cake mix around at all times.
I'm a 7 and I actually love baking, because obviously that's the only way you're gonna get cookies and cupcakes which are the best, but also I actually love the chemistry side of it, haha. I want to know how food works (because then I can successfully make up recipes and meals, as the seven in the video attempted, lol.). I want that five to teach me. XD
I am a type 8 and I am pretty sure I do my 5 "special recipe" smoothies a week. Also, how did you know that I browse all cook books like that? Literally SO ME. Also, how do people cook for more than 1 person? I don't understand.
Lol. Y’all are always hilarious. I’m a 9, but I’m at the point now where if I had a husband that moved everything around on me... I would tell him about how done I am with it and we’d get to have a fun time of conflict that nobody wants but it’s happening. 😂. Yay for 9’s and uncomfortably moving toward personal health! And hopefully the 7 wants to move toward health too because otherwise... that could be a non-fun marriage. Lol
My former roommate is a Type 7 and one time she was making a key lime pie and the recipe called for condensed milk. She accidentally bought caramel instead. I want to see enneagram types grocery shopping, and also making bread.
i'm a 4 and i was actually looking at vintage teacups when i got the notification
ahaha your 5 is accurate, I get soooo frustrated at "pinch" and "handful" measurements and I love the chemistry of baking :D

Absolutely loved this video! Thanks for posting! Admittedly, I was the most predictable of all - a 6!
I'm a 6 and have seriously been considering getting gloves for when I make chicken😳😂
I'm a 9. Spot on!
But I'm married to a 5. He doesn't cook, but watches Alton brown. So he always has an opinion on what I'm doing 🙄
I'm keto and my family is kinda picky.
Type 5 in the video is so true! And that “safety first” part in type 6 also. This combination is totally me.(5w6)
Whoooo, this 9 dating a 7 can RELATE!!! 😂😂
The passive aggressiveness of the 9 - feels about right.
I love that I'm watching this as I'm cooking.
Michelle's 3 is perfect because i 100% see a old friend in that 😄
I’m such a 6 just you considering pulling on the dirty glove with your teeth freaked me out. 😂 Otherwise, SO accurate.
This was so funny! Thank you for sharing.
Love how you changed the 4s "thing" to essential oils in general 😂 probably a smart move considering what's going on with.. that company
Awesome video, btw. Vintage utensils are absolutely necessary 💖
Amarah McGuire wait, no, what’s going on??
@@LovingLifeasEmma young living keeps getting in trouble for branding their products as injestable. Plus the guy that runs it isn't an actual doctor, and apparently has a pretty rough history so people are losing trust. The whole thing's seems like a pyramid scheme :/
But I'm not an expert so please don't take this as fact 😅
I’m a 7 and I’ve never related to anything so much ever 😂 I have actually said all those phrases to everyone I know
I’m an 8. Oh so that’s why I don’t like recipe books! 😂😂 Completely makes sense now!
I just love you two! I’m a 4 and I was howling with laughter at your 4 🤣🙃
You two again are hilarious!!
I am a hard core One. The silverware drawer makes me want to scream because it is so messy.
Also, the fast food cup with the straw in the background is distracting me because it needs to be thrown away.
So I'd say you do a pretty good job on the One's. 😁😁😁🙋
Confession, my fridge is labeled, and my cupboards are in alphabetical order.
Keep up the great work. These are so good!!!
I'm a 4.. you got me with the cloth napkins and cups.
You made my day! Thank you!
OMG, I died at 9. "My husband rearranged the kitchen again. He's a 7." Yes! I'm a 7. My husband is a 3, but he doesn't like change. Since the Kitchen is the one area of the house I have 100% control over, I move shit like once a month.
Perfect! As a 2w3, i am cooking just like a 4.
You totally got the 7!!!
You nailed the 1 🙋🏻♀️
I'm in love with you both girls. You simply make me feel happy and laugh so so loud. Have no idea I m type four or other but I cook like 7. Cheers
I'm a 1 and my fridge looks exactly like your 1 fridge! Bahahahaha!
The 6 is very accurate , 🤣🤣 we like a specific staple of cookbook(s) and wont follow trends like the 3's.
Hahahaha everything that came up for type 4 I've done, said, am doing, am saying...hahaha
The daughter with red hair has a great laugh.
Ha! This really helped me figure out my strongest wing. :)
Lol i always thought i was so weird for wanting a vintage tea cup collection- turns out its a 4 thing! 😂
Ha ha ha! I’m a 5 and I did take the free HarvardX science of cooking course...didn’t make me a better cook though. 😂
As a 1v2, the 1's bring me joy.
Early bird gets the worm

I'm a 7 and I actually love baking, because obviously that's the only way you're gonna get cookies and cupcakes which are the best, but also I actually love the chemistry side of it, haha. I want to know how food works (because then I can successfully make up recipes and meals, as the seven in the video attempted, lol.). I want that five to teach me. XD
I am a type 8 and I am pretty sure I do my 5 "special recipe" smoothies a week. Also, how did you know that I browse all cook books like that? Literally SO ME. Also, how do people cook for more than 1 person? I don't understand.
9 here, but i cook like a 7, apparently 😊 just no dancing
Oh my gosh. I had to stop the video and type this comment when I saw the 6 temping the chicken. My 6 DOES THIS ALL THE TIME!!!!
7 is soo me with the music and dancing 😂
I’m an 8w7 and I am constantly saying “Nah. I’m not doing that” when reading a recipe.
Can I be 8,9,1? I totally relate to those 😆
How did you know?? I’m a 9 and I have to make 2-3 different meals because of food sensitivities. 🤦🏼♀️😭
Lol
