This is part and parcel of the Court's (or the majority's) decision to overturn the Colorado court's ruling, consistent with the Constitution, to keep Trump off the ballot. To date I know of no effort in the Senate to pass a law to negate that decision. Today's discussion wandered so far afield of the Trump application that it confirmed my suspicion that it was only happening in order to shield him from prosecution. I wager this was done in order to create the appearance of necessity. It is yet another unethical, unprincipled departure from the Constitution and its tenets, as well as the widely held opinion that presidents have no immunity from criminal acts. I worked for a Judge for a long time and we used to discuss the well over 50% of people who would attempt to get out of jury duty. It was the saddest thing because you can't really explain to people the important of the role. They don't care enough. As a juror, it is the only time that an average citizen is acting a sovereign with the power to take someone's liberty or assets. Talk abut not realizing how important democracy is.

Today's discussion wandered so far afield of the Trump application that it confirmed my suspicion that it was only happening in order to shield him from prosecution. I wager this was done in order to create the appearance of necessity. It is yet another unethical, unprincipled departure from the Constitution and its tenets, as well as the widely held opinion that presidents have no immunity from criminal acts. It puts the authority of the lower courts into jeopardy, along with the entire Constitution.

If as the Trump lawyer says that it depends on context, then why would the justices like Alito refuse to speak about the specific context of the case before them, the insurrection that actually took place. This citizens getting very scared and angry at the duplicitous nature of the SCOTUS.

Interesting that Rick lives it Tallahassee. I spent many years in Tallahassee, loved this city, still come to visit my family in Cairo, but mourn that Ron DeSantis and his cretin crew have ruined Florida for me. I feel your pain. I DID retire in FL because as an only child, I had to "rescue" my Father from the facility he was in. Once back in this state, I made so many mistakes & errors in judgement, I'm now trapped in the panhandle. I grew up here & could not wait to escape "the Redneck Riviera". Now that I'm a homeowner & registered voter living under the DuhSantis regime, those days seem like paradise! 💙

In a perfect world, everyone would be held to the same standards where any alleged crimes are resolved by a jury trial. There should not be immunity under any circumstance. Of course, that would also require prosecuters to face harsh consequences when a jury says they are wrong. Why make it so difficult to protect the powerful? It should be clearly understood that jeopardy comes with the position. Only then will the powerful avoid being corrupt.

The supreme court is political now. Needs to be abolished and reformated. It is not a court of law but a court of political preferences following directives. Reform it bring it back to purely legal matters.

And an X president who never was stable nor intelligent nor Honorable enough to ever be a President! Now we have this group of truly picked loyalist,bandits who are destroying our great American democracy piece by piece ! I sit in my rocker and know we need to again gather millions and protest in peaceful marches ! And I realize just how truly important MeidasTouch network people are to save our country our democracy!
At the supreme court today there were 9 kangaroo heads with judges gowns indicating a kangaroo court which was so monumental for some of our supreme court judges. I wanted to scream out at some of those judges especially Alito and Claurence.
I am ao infuriated!! He needs to be removed from office!! There is no other context to her description of a coop!! It is simple! He will try to take office if he looses and he will try to stay if he takes office. He tried to stay and said he would not leave when he was in office! What a hack!!!!

I worked for a Judge for a long time and we used to discuss the well over 50% of people who would attempt to get out of jury duty. It was the saddest thing because you can't really explain to people the important of the role. They don't care enough. As a juror, it is the only time that an average citizen is acting a sovereign with the power to take someone's liberty or assets. Talk abut not realizing how important democracy is.
He's gonna have an epic meltdown. Leave the court in handcuffs or a strate jacket. 😂
