    Great insights. I agree that being a top tier ATP/WTA player isn’t easy and not as glamorous as it sounds. However, it is not necessarily more difficult, challenging or stressful than any other high level skill job (eg: being an intensive care nurse looking after critically ill patients); but the pay potential on the ATP/WTA far exceeds such comparative jobs and requires much less in the way of professional responsibility (eg: no one dies if a tennis player loses a match. Except maybe the rabid Djoker fans 😛).

      Hey, you’re definitely a Hopman/Saddlebrook pro if you were hitting partner for Jennifer and Martina. Who’s this? Eric Drew? I was a Hopman/Saddlebrook pro 1987-94 and I traveled with US #1 -ranked 16’s Jared Palmer on ATP Tour including US Open qualies and main draw 1st round. Some guy named Sampras travels with us and played doubles with Jared. I can’t remember his first name or how he did later in his career, but I remember Wimbledon MxD winner John Austin was his traveling coach. I was only a sectional level semi-pro player and was a little over my head, but I was hired for a couple tournament trips. We spent training weeks with Sampras and Austin and later Michael Chang. We played basketball, football, baseball, mini tennis, baseline games and serve games. At the US Open we got half a court dorn30 minutes once a day. So, Austin, Palmer (later Wimbledon and Aussie Open doubles champ) and I would go to a public park court and hit additionally daily. I remember this old guy came out from his residence across the street and charged us $5 for the court rentals. I wanted to tell him these guys were in the US Open but just smiled and paid the fee. I remember Sampras made light of my slow moving, looping ground strokes compared to his clean laser-like bullets. He was real nice though. I’m thankful to the Palmers too. They could have had almost anyone travel with them and they chose me. It’s the life!

    How much do you work on giving your pro different kinds of balls to hit? You hit a fairly flat ball, with a certain speed and weight, and my experience is that hitting with one person gets somewhat "predictable" as you learn to read cues from their body language, etc., subconsciously. So to help prepare for different opponents generally, or a particular opponent specifically, do you intentionally try to hit in different styles, other than your normal "best play" style? Or is it mostly helping your pro stay in a good rhythm?
    More videos about how pros really prepare and practice would be a nice addition that I don't see others providing. But a nice job on this one.

    Awesome video , is it difference hitting with with wta vs atp. On UA-cam , there is a thing on wta vs atp forehand’s . What’s ur thoughts . Do u change how u hit the ball when practicing say u hit more topspin for with osaka to prepare fir a Halep vs azarenka who hits flatter

    • @KaruesellHQ
      @KaruesellHQ  4 роки тому +2

      Well it really depends. Overall, male players hit with more topspin but there are still tons of guys who play flat. It is just a personal preference. Those videos aren’t really that accurate in my opinion. I don’t really change my style much when we hit. If Naomi is locked in, doesn’t matter the style the other player plays

    Hi Karue. Many thanks for this video "from the inside". Lots of great stuff, and I think your comments about the players all doing basically the same drills (the X drill, etc), were great to hear. I was wondering about the technical side, and the work that went in before the tournament, and you did explain that. But, what I'm really hoping to understand, is this; what makes Naomi perform at this level? If everyone is doing the same drill, can you shed some light on YOUR observations of a champion? Maybe she is just super talented; maybe she just worked harder than most as a junior; maybe Wim or Sascha developed her; maybe she just does all the little things at 100%, which adds up; maybe she does crazy strength and conditioning; all of the above?? I think the reason I'm asking, is that my own daughter is a very good player, and I am looking for any insight to how I can help her to take the next steps, and it makes sense to see what we can learn from a great champion like Naomi.
    I think also your point about you being the one who feels the power of the shot, and also you can hit hard back to her and see the result and how she handles it, means you have a first hand insight about your player. This, I think, might also mean when she is playing someone else, you might have a good idea how it will go. Which leads me onto the next thing; strategy. I don't want you to tell me anything secret about specific training methods, but rather at a high level; do you guys spend much time thinking about "next opponent", and what to do / expect? Or, is it a case of, "go out and play your game blind, and everything will be fine."

    • @KaruesellHQ
      @KaruesellHQ  4 роки тому +3

      That's actually a great question. I will save it so I can work on videos in the future to break this down. At the end of the day there's something that very few people will say and is that some people have it and some people don't hahah like most player are working extremely hard with very competent professionals. But you see some players pull ahead from others. The natural ability to problem solve, the champions mindset. At the end it is simple, some players are special. And as bad as it sounds, if everyone was special, nobody would be actually special, right? Naomi is just in that realm of people

    Karue, you get asked this question all the time and you always remain coy, so I’ll ask it in a more difficult more diplomatic way 🤣
    Hypothetically speaking... not naming any names here, but if for example a former ATP ranked player around 370... were to play a match against a WTA grand slam singles winner.. oh I dunno... a 2020 US Open champion for example, who do you think might win?
    Cheers dude, excellent channel I’m hooked.

    Can you please name all members of Naomi's team? I can't find this information anywhere and I'd like to know each members role. Thanks.

    Also, considering that Naomi is the highest paid female athlete in the world, you should be able to travel and stay in the best fashion at all time. $30 million a year goes pretty far for luxuries
