the way you used the mouse is so smart! i tried making the mouse slide sideways as i spin the wheel but it was much more complicated, thx this helps a lot

@TychoZ Yeah because you can just make it and boom you have it just in an hour (or how long it takes) but while wish. It takes weeks and plus it cost like 199.99$ (or less) and if you make it. Its free! So yes it is much better than wish

@@ShaelsStudio Because of the VR integration you wouldn't need to look with the mouse, and plus in most simulator games you are able to find a way to replace the free look controls, but otherwise in VR you wouldn't need that and you'd only have the mouse solely for steering.

I made this with my homemade F1 steering wheel (made out of Lego bricks), and it feels awesome, so precisely and with my gaming mouse I can change the sensitivity just with one click.

In the configuration menu there should be some way to change your input to keyboard/mouse/usb/steering wheel, I think this is a thing in F1 2021
yes under the scroll wheel theres a button that says dpi and when i click that it changes my mouse sensitivity

Ahh yes, IKEAs own 'Paper cut' series of steering wheels.
I had a very old "office mouse with no right button working i still kept it and somehow it's sensor was so amazing it's DPI was adjustable too! Even just being a 80 cent mouse it's great and now a steering wheel :)

The pedals don't work as pedals, they're just buttons when you press them, like "w". So you have no acceleration control. But its still a good idea.

It is very good but could you add the templates and the centimeters of the building in the description or in the video with the editor?
I don't think you need template and measurments, it's a very simple design and measurments are going to be different due to driving comfort and positions for each person.

For the steering wheel not to be so sensitive you should change the dpi in settings or on your mouse if you have that option

To make the steering more realistic u can reduce the dpi so it's similar to 900 degree and add rubber bands for force feedback

This was a very nice steering wheel (with some mouse modifications and tube reinforcement) but the software setup is not too bad but pretty bad. Overall, worth it.
Nevermind it broke on me instantly.
Any ways to fix the tube when the mouse is under the tube? Like raising it or expanding the tube. I can’t make the mouse sideways because that would ruin the setup and it would have to be bigger which would not fit on my desk (it goes under my computer which is on a stand)
Fixed it. The mouse was loose. Works perfectly now!

Just make a cardboard box big enough to fit a mouse and the rod aswell as the two cardboard piece to hold the mouse

If you just soldier some wires of left & right click and middle button from the mouse board, and if you shot it, it will work like the button you had shotted. And this is how you can make steering wheel, accelerator, brake & clutch for pedal. You can shift gears from keyboard or make gear shifter from arduino uno.
I dont have a lot of cardboard so i used a real steering whell from a car instead of making it

One thing you could do is change it so it had more spin range, and lower the sensitivity of the mouse so it would feel more realistic.
Less sensitivity is more steering angle
