Just loved in 40 years distance! Mike Oldfield was a subject in my class in the mid 80's in my elementary school in Budapest, Hungary. It was "sing and music class", and we listened some kind of music like it is.
Dear @@johncanavan4060, Thank you very much for the comment I've had a few live performances myself, and a lot depends on the sound engineers. But I think it's important when I present music and songs live and sing them live, everything else is just not honest. Stay healthy, greetings from central Germany
well it was 90% live. The short vocoder vocal Sample at the start wasn't live and one short sample in the centre. That though would have been impossible to replicate then, so that is acceptable and they didn't hide it and pretend to mime it, they just let it play - which in my view is ok - what you saw was what you got. Exceptional though. Mike is an amazing guitarist and Maggie has such a powerful voice. The combination is almost unbeatable.
@@johncanavan4060 she had way to much delay throughout that concert and it worked in places, however it seemed they weren't live mixing it at all and that was a pain at times and it needed adjusting throughout the concert. Weird, they just left with the delay on such a high setting the time, I wouldn't be surprised if her vocals aren't still echoing round the sound system now.

This shit blew my mind away in the 80s and it still blows my mind away in the 2020's. I have no words ...
Thank you Mike Oldfield for this Masterpiece of Musical Art 🙏
She's an awesome singer!
Very awesome love the guitar solo at 1:34-1:45
Maggie Reilly, what an exceptional, wonderful voice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Мэгги очаровательна, как всегда!!

I love this live performance, why because it is the real original.
As true as can be! Like a lot of people are saying, not an easy one to perform live

Great song, great performance (the musicians are flawless), but bad mix. Clearly a rough live mix rather than a considered one.
Weirdly enough I think its easier to make out the lyrics in this version!
@@johncanavan4060 just the delay on the mic is to extreme in places. They did it for the whole set list that day.
Maggie! Wake them up!
The voice of an angel. What is she doing/saying at the beginning? Very cool, what ever it is.
Way too hard to perform live.
What should Pink Floyd say?

Sometimes I wish I died in an airplane... over which I have some amount of control.... Sometimes not...
Both good and bad mixed reaction here.. love it in not live version
I think it's a good live version of a difficult song but there's far too much echo/delay on Maggie's vocal

The end? Waaaay five time too many.
Still, that was the kick - you will NOT see this these days, do you...?

Pienso la actuacion esta muy deslabazada, algun desafine y poco empastada...soy seguidor de olfield desde jovencito...pero esto no me gusto nada

very messy. too hard to do live
the new vocal bit at the end is nice tho
you can't expect a live version to be anything but a little messy. I love it. Just don't compare it to the studio version.
