Anthony Ruggiano Jr. is a former member of the Gambino crime family, which is one of the five families of organized crime in New York City. He is the son of Anthony "Fat Andy" Ruggiano, who was also A Capo, a high-ranking member of the Gambino family. Anthony Ruggiano Jr. has been involved in various criminal activities, including extortion, loan sharking, and racketeering. However, it is important to note that engaging in criminal activities is illegal and not condoned by any reputable organization or individual.
Anthony Stabile, a member of the Gambino crime family and an associate of Paul Vario. Stabile was murdered in 1985, and he reportedly was tasked with killing Henry Hill during a mission to Florida, but Henry instead entered the Witness Protection Program.
Henry Hill, portrayed by Ray Liotta in Martin Scorsese's iconic film "Goodfellas," is a character based on a real-life figure who was involved in organized crime. The movie chronicles Hill's life as a young boy growing up in Brooklyn to his rise through the ranks of the mafia, and ultimately his decision to become an informant for the FBI.
Hill's character in "Goodfellas" is compelling for several reasons. Firstly, he provides an insider's perspective into the world of organized crime, offering viewers a glimpse into the intricate workings of the mafia. His narration throughout the film adds depth and authenticity, drawing audiences into his tumultuous journey.
Moreover, Henry Hill's character is complex and morally ambiguous. Despite engaging in criminal activities, he is depicted as a charismatic and likable protagonist, blurring the lines between right and wrong. This complexity adds layers to the narrative, inviting viewers to grapple with questions of loyalty, ambition, and the consequences of one's choices.
"Goodfellas" gained widespread acclaim for its masterful direction by Martin Scorsese, who expertly captured the gritty realism of the mafia lifestyle. The film is renowned for its frenetic pacing, stylish cinematography, and memorable soundtrack, which includes classic songs from the era. Scorsese's use of long tracking shots and voice-over narration became iconic elements of the film, influencing generations of filmmakers.
"Goodfellas" received numerous accolades, including six Academy Award nominations. It won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Joe Pesci's electrifying performance as Tommy DeVito, a hot-headed mobster. The film also received critical acclaim for its screenplay, editing, and direction, solidifying its status as a cinematic masterpiece.
Beyond its critical success, "Goodfellas" achieved cultural significance, becoming a timeless classic that continues to resonate with audiences decades after its release. Its portrayal of the mafia underworld, coupled with its compelling characters and expert craftsmanship, cemented its place in cinematic history and ensured its enduring legacy.
One of the many messed up things about addiction is that you will never get an answer to the “how did this happen to me?” question. It’s best not to dwell on it.
Always enjoy listening to you, Anthony. Wish we had a little more about DeEimone and Stabile, who they were, where they lived, which crews, which crimes, etc…maybe some photos would be good too. Thanks again.
“Catch a delusion”🤣🤣🤣🤣
The 80's were a wild time especially around the 5 boroughs of NYC
great episode keep clean have great weekened there!!!
I've heard that even Gaspipe Casso was a heavy cocaine user and used to go to the basement of some restaurant and smoke it. Maybe explains why he was so violent and caught delusions about people so often.
It wouldnt surprise me at all.
Heard the same
Love your stories! All the way from Ireland
Thank you so Much.....%100 So True..A BLESSING

I don’t usually chime in with questions but as a life long New Yorker born in queens raised in Brooklyn . I grew up around all the wise guys as I been working in gyms most of my life not just went down the straight and narrow . But I was curious being in the city during the 70’s and 80’s did you have interaction with the west side Irish ? Or was that strictly a Brooklyn crew . Congrats on recovery . Be well
I've been waiting for this episode forever....I always check my patron app to see if it's up on UA-cam or the app
Perfect..Yes ALWAYS catching Delusions
It’s one of the reasons Paul Vario was against the junk. Because all the heat it could bring.

I pray for your sobriety every day and I personally don't like Good Fellas, I like your take better, and you tell it well. You Rock ☮ & 💚
Hi Andy, love the show! Do you think O’Neil asked Paul Castellano for permission each time he had a guy killed for dating his daughter? Thanks!

Hi Anthony, as always love your shows.
Question: did you ever meet or heard of Sal Polisi in the early 70s?
Heck I bet the substance abuse problem was worse than the mob problem!
You cleaned your life up which a lot of people did not
Hey Tony, what up, man?? How is everything?? I got my liberty cafe mug a couple of days ago, and my fat andy shirt.....I be drinking my coffee every morning with it

I’m sixty four, from Miami ( Hialeah) and I could tell some stories from the late seventies through the early nineties.
Great video. Happy Memorial Day. Oddly enough, Europe is now the number one consumer of cocaine in the world. The US certainly has a massive drug problem but more with opiates and opioids
don’t mess with fringenti family
Mr Anthony...glad you survived the 'coke blowing....it's nasty stuff that make people crazy! Brave of you telling how it was in the 70's! Greetings from the Netherlands 🎉🎉 mr Anthony 🇺🇲👍🇱🇺

It must of been mad knowing Tommy. No one really ever speaks about angelo Sepe, did you know him? Also Tommy has a lot of sibilings, would for example his sisters not come on your show to give an insight on Tommy’s early life?
Early! First one here! Love your content, Anthony!
Thank you Lisa!
@@AnthonyRuggianogot any pictures of some of these guys????
Your dad taught you some wisdom

Great video Anthony. Appreciate your thoughts and advice on addiction, it runs in my family including me. Your work here is appreciated. But one more thing, fuck merlino, fuck Philadelphia and their cheesesteaks. The city, North Jersey, that's where the best sandwiches come from. Frikkin pennsyltuckians. ✌ ♥
I hung with Stabile’s son a few times. He was a nice kid.
Thank you for another great story, not to dwell on drugs could you imagine those two wise guys on meth geez. A a lot of hypocrites. Thank you for another great video I am in recovery and I've seen what staying up for nights on end can cause.
15:10 He calls Anthony a junkie while simultaneously platforming Scott Storch 😂 - notorious for blowing 30mil in 6 months on cocaine. His assistant Snuff is in recovery also. Merlino's hypocrisy has really shone thru lately. Paying $15 a month, top-tier Patreon- to a self-confessed degenerate gambler is CRAZY AF BTW. Thx.
You are the man! You know? Lol lol
You are so blessed to have escaped that monkey on your back.
Having the gene sucks and the longer I keep my last drunk allows me to keep it fresh in my mind to stay away from that old life.
Did Jimmy Burke get high?
No he was about business
@damonstewart70 well he certainly drank.
@jamiewilson5679 and with loads of cash. Killers like Tommy around,it's a recipe for disaster. I'm from east new york Brooklyn. I was around that time I lived four blocks from,"the hole". New York progressively became more brutal
@@damonstewart70 👍🏴
Jimmy like the sauce
I don’t think he used drugs
He suffered from insomnia
