Looking good brother. Gotta love having an attic above your garage to pull off that.

Are you still happy with the V-3000? What is your longest run? Thanks, Jake.

Not to minimize your effort/knowledge, but I think you may be significantly gimping your performance with that 90 going straight into the DC. Pretty much any DC needs a straight run of 4+ feet to allow the particulate to enter the cyclone with minimal turbulence to separate optimally. Some of those 90's in the attic seem a little sharp as well.

We knew the bends would create some restrictions when we (Oneida rep and I) discussed the layout. There is a decrease in separation due to the 90 at the unit, but it was unavoidable given how i wanted it to run along the ceiling right next to the collector... what it means is that every 3 or 4 barrels full, I blow air through the filter, then remove the bottom filter bin... that simple... even just prior to blowing out the filter, there's no noticeable decrease in suction all the way down the line...

did you consider building a closet around the cyclone to minimize the noise?

How's the performance of the V-3000 at your longest run? Does it handle everything you throw at it?

Now that I've been using it for a few months, I really have no complaints... My Bandsaw is at one of the furthest points and i can barely open the access door on it when the collector is running... tons of airflow/suction down the line.

@@rbwoodcreations1039 Good to know. I just ordered my V-System last night. Super excited to get it.

What kind of ducting did you use? From a Home Depot or Lowe’s?

Question? Why not put the cyclone dust collector in the attic?

because then the climate-controlled shop air would be vented into the attic. Not only would I lose good A/C air in the shop, but then it would negatively pressure (suction) the shop space.

sorry for the delayed response... If i had put the DC in the attic, then the A/C'd air in the garage would be vented into the hot attic and hot or cold outside air would come in through the garage door seams due to negative pressure inside.

Just need to extend the filter return back below the ceiling. There is space up there for an air compressor too if you plan out your tank condensation drain.
