Beautiful Hair Love..I HAVE DREADLOCS SINCE 1995..I HAVE 17LOCS VERY LONG..Have not Retwisted in @Decade..Wash & condition once a month..Rosewater spriz daily..And Wildgrowth hair Oil Massage Once a Week...less is best..When I did retwist it was EVERY 3mos...PROTECT thy Edges.
“When I look in the mirror and I look at my hair, I don’t see an image I was trying to create” I love this.. it’s fully you. I can’t wait to start my loc journey! You’re beautiful!!
Wow!!! Your locs are beautiful (as are you). I spent years with manicured locs. What a waste of time and money. I started free-forming about 6 years ago and never looked back. Water and time is all you need. No twisting or manipulation. My hair has never been healthier (or looked better). There’s nothing sexier than a sister rocking her natural hair!!!!
When you said you see your hair and not someone else's that you tried to recreate was perfect wording. I've been more connected to my lock'd hair than any other style. Love my hair.
I have officially started my thick loc journey today. I have 58 locs and my goal is to self maintain and semi free form as well. Love how beautiful your locs are progressing
Great video, Im about to start doing my own re twist. Its been too long since my last one ( 3 months ). I only have about 38-40 locs though as a high top style. Love the thick look.

Thanks for the great video.✨ Your relationship with your hair is authentic, really amazing to see. Been toying with the decision of doing my own maintenance - so thanks again for the inspiration. Any other platforms to follow you on?
I went the unconventional route I used super gro tight hold with aloe, and biotin and grab and go twisted my hair until there was no more afro left to twist they were pretty long at first but got really thick in a week I plan to twist them one or two more times then leave them be
Thanks! I just tied a scarf so that they stayed down. If some got flat, they would puff back out throughout the day or you could spray a lil water on it and roll it out with your hands.
hey im so inspired by your loc journey!! I’m almost 9 months myself. Do your locs every feel dry since you only use water? Also what hair texture did you have b4 locing??
Thank you! No, my hair doesn't feel dry. I don't use a shampoo that completely strips my hair if its natural oils. And since I don't use any heavy products, my hair strands can properly and naturally absorb moisture. Then my natural oils seal the moisture. I don't know what you mean by "what texture did I have before locing" but I have type 4b curls.
No, not to maintain them. I only used the crochet needle to start them/keep them from unraveling when they were really short. And idk how they keep their shape. I don't do anything special.
You should look into your internal health such as diet and hydration and then also look at the protein:moisture balance of your hair as well keeping your scalp oiled - all of these along with genetics affects growth and length retention
I’ve finally gone to only water and piling every so often and I was so scared because when I was loose natural, water dried my hair out! But now I can mist it (sometimes strictly water or water and rosewater) and go. My scalp would sometimes feels dry but now I can use water only and be fine without added oils and such. It’s really refreshing, honestly
Be careful about getting big parts bc like Jakaria said “everyone’s hair is different”. Ex : If your hair density is low/thin, I don’t think it’s possible to achieve this type of thickness.
This year, hopefully this month, I’m gonna combine my set to achieve a similar size as yours😍🤩. Probably between 48-54 locs, could do the trick, hopefully🥲🤞

Your hair is so beautiful love. ❤️❤️Any tips on how you used to sleep in the first few months, or in general to prevent flat locs??? 😢
Thanks! I just tied a scarf so that they stayed down. If some got flat, they would puff back out throughout the day or you could spray a lil water on it and roll it out with your hands.

I have 56
Hello beautiful: hope all is well. We need a lock update sis..👀🙏😘
I’m on month 8 and I feel like my hair should be longer idk maybe I’m rushing it or maybe I’m doing something wrong
Hair growth is based on genetics so that could just be the rate that your hair grows. Everyone is different.
@@MultipleStrands_ ok thank you ❤️

You are the only person I know that can use only water on your dreads & never nothing else😭
And I feel no one actually tries it. They just assume it won't work for them lol
I’ve been using water only for my entire loc journey (4 years next month)
@@wanjinkonde9252 Me too
