its lovely to watch a creator advance in video creation as well as in the hobby greatly i hope your skills accumulate into somthing worthy of a golden deamon which at this rate may be sooner than you think
So nice of you to say! Thank you so much, I'm really enjoying bot the hobby and video creation, it's a lot of fun while also being a pretty big challenge 😊
Thanks so much for the follow and comment, I'm actually subscribed to you on my personal UA-cam account and it was your videos on how to play Tau Empire which pulled me in last year while I was still learning to play!
This comment means so much to me, it's the individuals who are finding the specific videos helpful which I'm finding really motivating. Appreciate you watching as well as commenting, have fun building/painting the Tau Combat Patrol - I really loved it, such a nice box!
@@TinBearStudios the combat patrol arrived a day late to my local shop so i'll be picking it up tonight and can't wait to get started. I really enjoyed the Warhammer World video as its only about an hour away from me and i've never been, thank you for the nice reply and keep up the videos :)
I think there's a difference between painting game and display prices. I can happily spend 15-20 hours on a single small troop model if I'm enjoying the painting, but for a gaming army I think it's much better to simply base coat, wash, base the model, and varnish to get them on the table. Blends and highlights I reserve for units which either see the table a lot or I particularly like. Because from three feet away you can't tell.
Without my glasses it's more like 6 feet away for me, so even better for both myself and my opponent! But yeah I'm in complete agreement, I've really enjoyed trying some newer techniques like Slapchop which has just got me blasting through models sooooo quick.
Yeah what's happened to him? He used to post shorts almost daily but he hasn't posted or commented for months. He hasn't done anything on insta for months either? He just kind of disappeared
Your spot on with your batch painting tip, i painted 1 fire warrior and it seemed like it took hours to paint. When i finished i painted the rest of the box about 11 models only in XV88 and Rhinox Hide but was done in an hour!! Dont know if i was just a bit rusty on my first model, but using the same colour speeds things up alot!
Yeah it makes a huge difference doesn't it! I'm definitely not as fast as you yet but have definitely seen some pretty nice improvements by painting consistently more recently.
Your minis look great. I’m thank full for the tips on painting minis. Recently I placed a order for a great unclean one but I don’t have time to do anything with it till Christmas, I have a bunch of school stuff including midterms. Recently my small insta account with the 3 posts I made about my first minis and progress on them got banned. It’s says it didn’t follow community guidelines. I think it might of been the pfp of a kreigsman. That sucks, but after I found that out I went and watched one of your videos who hee helped me feel a little better. Anyways, when the next livestream?
Thanks for the compliment! I'm finding ways to get faster and enjoying the process of improving a lot. That's frustrating with your Insta, I find their appeal process is pretty good if you appeal it soon (within like 30 days) so definitely try and appeal it any way it lets you, I'd be surprised if you were banned on anything that's your fault with just 3 posts.
Thanks for checking in! Just real life stuff and managing a few pretty big projects, I actually just posted my first video today in a while and it feels great to be back.
That's really kind of you to say! I'm really happy with how my painting is coming along, especially with the speed though more than anything - I'm finally getting through my backlog.
Great vid, I've decided to start army no4, the adepta sororitas. I should of done a test model instead of trying 8 of my new sister's troops... the helmets were a bit of a pain, after doing 3 i just covered them in white then did the black after which covered straight away. I tried the eban chalice's colour scheme black armour, white skirt but with blue inner skirt instead of red. The white was taking too many layers to get a solid colour so switched to dark blue in the end. I'll move back onto my cult 1st that are about half done, before doing anything else though hopefully there will be more sister's when I get onto them in a month or so.
Appreciate the kind words, this video was a bit different compared to my usual editing style but I'm really happy with how it came together for the most part! Sisters is a great army and I can't wait to see it, sounds like an absolutely awesome scheme. What white are you using, out of curiosity? I've been using Pro Acryl's Titanium White and have been so incredibly happy, it's such a nice white and has great coverage!
Thanks buddy! Was pretty happy with how quickly I got them done while recording at the same time, got all 4 done within an hour and pretty pleased with how they came out. I still need to base them but I'm not currently using them in my army so they're a lower priority.
I can tell without even watching the video what you did in the thumbnail to get such good looking white on the tau and I've only been painting since april. No.1 you didn't actually paint that much white, only the very highest highlights were white and the rest of the mini was in various shades of grey. I paint my models at the speed that George R.R. Martin writes and I've Madd staggering progress in my miniature painting journey. Just to give you an idea I've yet to even complete a single squad of my aspect warriors even though they are mostly painted now.
"I paint my models at the speed that George R.R. Martin writes" I'm going to have to borrow that line 🤣 Yeah exactly with the white on my Fire Warriors, using light grey for the most part - you can definitely tell when you put them next to something actually white, but otherwise they look white to the eye when on their own!
this is great if you just need to to put paints on models and awesome if it lets you enjoy the process! but i find that relying on contrast doesn't let me practice and improve as a painter, cool tips for those who needs to combat the grey tide.
Yeah that's very true, I've noticed I'm using contrasts more and more these days as I need to keep the grey tide at bay - but more traditional methods definitely have a better end result.
Yo dude are you ok? You used to post shorts almost daily but you haven't posted anything for months. You haven't done anything online for months? You doing good bro?
Thanks so much for checking in! A few guys who were following a lot of my stuff like you were checked in recently too. All is good, I had a pretty hectic end of the year which then turned into a hectic start of the year, but I'm so excited to be recording content again.
@@TinBearStudios thank god! If I'm gonna be honest I thought something had happened to you since you and been dead silent for a good few months. Glad you're ok dude!
Thanks, appreciate that! It's not so bad with the Raphael brush, I kind of overbought when I started the hobby in March as I made an order, it didn't arrive and so I ordered again - now I have way too many!
Batch painting is the best! However... Don't do 20 models at a time. Sounds like a good plan but in reality you will burn out. Can't even look at my Skaven anymore
Been in and out of this hobby over the last 15 years these are amazing tips that I am only now implementing in full stride
Awesome video! Great watch and great tips!
Thanks guys! Heavily inspired by your own content and a big fan, as you know 😊

I bought another knight.....
Lol. How many do you have now?
Haha, I'm proud - which one did you get? and how many points worth do you own now, roughly?
The answer to this is always "Not enough" 🤣
@Inquisitor_Snake 4 armigers 2 quesotris pattern (magetized so the name doesnt matter) and a knight Valliant
@@TinBearStudios nearly 2,000 points depending on weapons wargear etc
