I live in Florida USA and in the summer we get nasty storms like these every day around 1600hr. Also tropical storms and hurricanes can give us up to 26cm of rain or more.
Yeah, it's almost like clockwork. I have family in Miami and have been there for them. The other thing I've noticed is that they generally, aside from tropical storms and hurricanes, rarely last too long and usually keep moving along. I've also been to Holland and know that the storms there can stall out and stay for a very long time. Strange for me being from Michigan where storms rarely stay long and very rarely stall, aside from the occasional winter storm. Even then, though, they generally move on rather quickly.
Hey Suds..watched one via stream in Plant city few days ago, one angry looking storm. I imagine temp convergence zones favour development on the peninsula hence the severity, yet some places may miss them others get a deluge, sometimes very localised.
Reminds me of Winnipeg ,MB Canada during the hot humid muggy summers at night there was one hell of a light show sometimes high winds heavy downpours hail.
That was an amazing video ... thanks so much for sharing and keeping all of your railfans up to date with what's going on in the Netherlands, from your friends across the pond, so to speak in London, Ontario Canada.
Ah yes a refreshing storm, like it! Brill footage do like these. Thanks for your efforts, I think we all appreciate it ; ) Remember, from seeing flash/lightning count. 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 miss..and so on. One second. To the very moment you hear the thunder and stop. Speed of sound. Divide seconds counted by 5 = distance from lightning. Eg, 10 (Mississippi's) means you're approx 2 miles from lightning. Less than one, er, OK don't panic. Now, also remember the lightning can be hotter than the surface of the sun...hence why loud thunder. It heats up the air, extremely rapidly and crash...; ) different thunder sounds can be due to elevation of cloud, humidity/rainfall/wind level orientation, local surroundings or if you're hiding under a table.
Two things to remember: Point number 1: Once the rain has stopped, you're not in the clear; lightning can strike up to ten miles (16.1 kilometers) from a storm. So you're not completely in the clear until the thunder stops, dissipates, etc. Which leads me to my second point, related to the first point: Point number 2: a saying we have in the States, which is something good to remember: "When thunder roars, go indoors."
26 juni.
I love this place. I've been to this site before and may have asked this, but forgot. It seems that the traffic lights for the street that parallels the tracks are actuated by cars, since it seems to stay red most of the time, aside of course when trains are coming.
@@weeardguy Thanks. That's what I thought. It did seem that the lights were red for so long I figured that it had to be dymanic. Since most of the tracks go across the tracks without turning, why have the lights change, stopping traffic for nothing, aside, of course, from trains.
Hi. Sometimes the worst storms can occur when a hot plume of air arrives during a cooler spell, I'm sure Argentina gets heavy storms too! By mountains and by the sea ; )
@@edek8470 Yes. There are storms in Argentina in different ways because it is very big and diverse. In Buenos Aires the biggest storms occur in Summer, but, of course, also in Winter.
@@weeardguy Thanks. I thought maybe it was a matter of the latitude (or longitude - I get them mixed up) where it stays lighter longer than it does here in PA (USA). Being a photographer, I also considered what you said about the aperture adjusting.
@@weeardguy That may be true that the Netherlands can fit four times into PA, but I'll bet it has much less governmental corruption. We do have the "Pennsylvania Dutch" but they are actually descendants of Germans not Dutch. The English changed Deutsch to Dutch. Easier to say, I guess, but the tourist think they are from Holland.
Just a very quick heads up..temps are set to rise over the next few days, 30c+ easily achievable. This could be conducive for a few thundery episodes. Likely trigger point is upon cooler air making inroads by next week end and the start of August.
Great video! I know the cameras would stop recording but have you ever witnessed the power going out and the trains coasting to a stop in the middle of the crossing?
does this area ever lose power during storms? here in las Vegas, NV we seem to have outages every time we get a storm, like they have never had one before and this is a completely new thing.
That was nice. Wish we would get some rain like that here in South Eastern Colorado. We need it.
Cheers from Colorado
I was watching railcam this night. Had a party, trains and thunder. 😁
Thank you really enjoyed watching this. Stay safe
just found you....awesome storm...all cool'd down NOW
thanks for that ...
Very Cool,,, Great Vid.

Loved that. Thank you
I really liked this video as just goes to show how much rain and thunder/lightning can have an effect on it

But here in Argentina is very cold now. Anyway we enjoy watching the storm in Helmond!

Why 3 thumbs down!? Cannot quite understand..Maybe they expected a twister, running scared dinosaurs, free pizza?
Interesting...... Are those yellow trains double deckers ?? ..... Quite the storm there....
A slightly delayed repeat of June 2019!
Surprised it was this bright past 9 PM?

Like a good heavy downpour of rain more so if indoors the light show that usually comes with it the thunder.
Holy train what wheather is this 😲😱

Interesting question!
There will be mechanisms in place for these eventualities.
