@@pity_6095 ok bro that happens those engines and other that i forgot to put such as the l28e can rev that high thanks to spend a ton of money in them also the l28e can rev to 11k there was a video of it using a dohc and stroking it to 3.1 litters and that dohc is pretty expensive and exclusive and the 1uz idk if can rev up to 10k the highest i ever find in internet is 9.8k

jimded yes and no. The bhp they got from low capacity engines was great but the torque was really lacking. As other manufacturers went to boosted engines it was only a matter of time before honda had to do the same to remain competitive in the global market. That's the difference between an ep3 with 220 bhp from a 2l and 316 bhp from a 2l. Bhp sells these cars

Something like 93% of cars sold in the usa are automatics. Which in europe and asia is slightly above 50%. In europe only handicaps and old people get to drive auto for their driving exam.

Same here. I used to be all about the 'big turbo boys' of JDM, the GT-R, Supra, WRX and the Evo. But now I've grown to appreciate Honda's cars.
@@bluesrike I love older BMW's and VW GTI's but these Honda engines are truly special. Much easly tuned power gain per money spent then any European 4 cylinder, maybe the Opel C20XE 2.0 16V is closest to what you could call a rival.
The B16B is definitely a technological marvel for sure but I never understood why people were so surprised how high the engine revs. It’s 1.6L and makes almost 200 HP. If you want to make more power NA the main two ways are increase displacement or rev the engine higher. Well the engine is very small displacement so they have to spin it to the moon to make the kind of power it makes.
I just went in there and Harry has three Honda Civics with spoon engines.
The big advantage here with the high RPM range is that, the gears can be changed in the sweet-spot of the high rpm range above the V-tech cross-point where the car produces its peak power and torque, therefore also keeping the V-tech engaged, thus eliminating the dreaded "V-TECH CROSSOVER LAG" which cuts power.
There is no such thing in this engines as "V-TECH".

I remember watching these videos years ago. The late 90s/early 00s were amazing.
B engines were legends, I remember growing up they're literally the dream of every kid on the block who owns a Honda.
The sound that car makes coming over the hill at 1:48 is something I've been chasing for 20 years. I finally have my car sounding very similar.
Whatever horsepower it makes, it still only makes 115 lb/ft.
But we still love you B16B

It says at the beginning that it has stock tire and rims, 4 pot brake calipers, carbon bonnet, reinforced engine parts, aluminium sump, headers, street type muffler (from spoon), ecu, but uses stock pistons and head due to an increase in practical rotation speed, giving 200hp at 10000rpm, with rev limiter at 11000rpm.
Definitely is the BEAST from Gran Turismo 2!

After years of watching this video we put together a itr high compression built head sk2pr2 cam motor toda itb spoon header and i told my buddy we are those guys in that video we finally get to feel the smooth hi rpm honda power
My car revs up to 8500rpm & after a decade of driving for the first time driving in this rev range felt unorthodox & took some time getting used to. I can only imagine what it would be like at 11k!!

@@ibrahimqureshi2420 It'd be a trash converter to blow out from a 200hp engine. Stock converters can easily handle more than that, even small turbochargers at mild boost.

Omg this high reving was tingly.. i love high rpm reving. My eg is reving a little bit more than the normal. Its rev limiter is on 9000rpms and love it. Only hondas can mess up with these rpms. All the other cars probably should have broke down!

To everyone saying no power after 9k. It says 200hp 10000rpm for a reason. To me it looked like torque was the issue after 9000 it was struggling to pull enough to get up to 10000 because of the lack of torque . But that's just my guess.

+WasmachinemanTT5/R™ of course they don't, stock vtec cams start going downhill after 8k and there is no point in revving over 8500 with stock cams. even with aftermarket cams you won't really see power increasing after 8500 need lots of headwork to take advantage of big cams..

I bought an EK9 new in 1997. The price was 2.4 million yen in Japanese yen.
Honestly as a huge fan of high revving Hondas, I find this car to be nothing more than a fun experiment.Practical redline for these cars should be around 9000...nothing else happens after that and the engine becomes very volatile and unreliable, which in my opinion goes against Honda's philosophy of reliable, tough engines.I call bullshit on the "ECU malfunction", it was probably a valve.It's cool to build something like this, but if I were to get a car from Spoon I'd much rather have a car that has spoon brakes, suspension and chassis tuning weight reduction and a reliable B16B that's around maybe 220 hp.
Stock Type R's are perfect in my opinion.They're actually driveable in everyday life while being exhilirating on the track.

@@upnorthviking823 No, you don't need $3k headers to make power at 8 grand, there are less expensive 2" primary headers that won't choke the engine. Guys have been building 408's that rev to 8 grand for many years. Some CNC ported aluminum heads (premade aftermarket heads are out there) and a healthy solid roller cam with matched valvetrain will do it.
