These tutorial videos are great! UA-cam doesn't have many videos of erhu tutorials and many videos seem to leave out many important details that people forget that beginners won't know. I hope you will make more tutorial videos and put them in one playlist in your channel to make them easier to find.
I'm learning how to play this instrument! My biological parents are both Violinists, but I find the erhu to be way prettier. May try herdigerdi someday too. I have a beginner erhu.

I only just received my erhu, and I want to learn properly, I know you hold two strings but do you press it with the bow or do you play one string at a time with the bow?

Greetings teacher, when does one finish playing the Erhu! You have to loosen your strings.
Have I been playing the notes all wrong? Do you not press the top of the string? From the video it looks like the fingertip is placed on the side of the string and not the top. I'm very confused.
I do press the top of the strings as you do. The fingertip is NOT placed on the side of the string.
@@JBChen I too have trouble figuring out the angle of the fingers in most videos.
Can you teach how to produce a sound from the erhu? I just received mine and don't know why I cannot make sound.
Also can you teach us how to tune?
I tried to start learning but I can't seem to make a sound how do you tune erhu,please help.

If you don't have enough rosin on the bow hairs then the hairs will just slide without making any sound. It seems to take a while to figure out how to get enough rosin on the bow without getting too much. I think maybe it's because different rosin is different in hardness especially depending on the temperature and stuff. Using sandpaper on the rosin can help get it started.
