I rarely report someone for cheating, but every time I report someone for toxicity the next time I log in Blizzard notifies me that they took action after a report I made. So I guess that in certain situations they are willing to ban people.
Yeah same here. I've had a pretty high ratio of reports to "action taken" screens. That being said my biggest issue now is the endless smurfs ruining matchmaking and apparently that's not a reportable action.
Overwatches community is really toxic tho, if somebody picked the hero they wanted, or there was a carry on the enemy team that was making the team win, they would get kicked
It's Important note blizzard doesn't always notify you when a player you reported got banned. It could just be a bug but I didn't get the message that a hacking widow was banned, but my friend who only plays with me did.

there not just in high ranks either. new accounts start in gold... a few weeks ago i got clips of 7 different cheaters in 2 weekends of gameplay.. one game had 3 on one team.. cuz apparently cheating in gold isn't enough, ya gotta stack to still get the win -_- thats 5 games... I'd like 100sr refunded please .... not doing anything about the cheaters doesn't just keep them in the game.. It tells others that it's not punished, so more people are more likely to do it..

The amount of cheaters at the moment is annoying as hell and I've seen nothing happen lately. They rely so heavily on their anti-cheat software to detected tampering with the game in anyway as well as artificial mouse movements but if someone managed to trick it or circumvent it, it's gonna take upwards of a month for blizzard to catch on and either patch it or start looking into the reports, the only time reports do anything themselves is when someone gets a mass amount of reports for the same category in short span of time. I.E 8-15 reports for cheating within 24 hours.
man I remember encountering what I firmly believe was a cheater it was quick play, and I was playing rein, so I used my charge, caught the lucio, and right before he got hit, he got a zarya barrier. Their team NEVER had a zarya, I checked multiple times, no one left on that game, and tanks were ball, monkey and hog

I mean you can't really draw a koth map and only rarely can you draw a straight payload map...
you can draw on a payload map pretty easily really. It's one of the easiest to draw on.
