St Wulfram`s is a magnificent building. Wonderful to see the colourful trees that the community has decorated for the celebrations. Two hundred trees is amazing. The sight of all these should certainly make the sun god feel a lot better.
Thank you both so much. The church dominates the skyline in Grantham and it really makes for a fantastic setting. It is particularly colourful at night however as the skating attracts a lot of youngsters we prefer to film in daytime when it's a little quieter. It's that time of year again... 0:22-0:27: I wonder if you two think the dates of the Festival are a little odd...? I mean... December just begins - and down come the Christmas Trees! My best guess is they want to get some of the less-Christian based (Pagan) traditional stuff - albeit, adopted into Christian celebrations - out of the way so that the building in December is freed up for most of the Advent season services. (And, after all, you wouldn't want the trees blocking access/views on a Sunday service!) 3:09-3:22: Didn't realise it was as early as that in Germany! Anyway, an excellent overview. I've studied religion, so the generalities of what you said were not unfamiliar; still... some of the specifics - like the early use of Christmas Trees by German Christians - were not previously known to me. That's one of the two main things I like about your videos: you're always learning something. (By the way, if you're wondering what the other main attraction is... it's your engaging and gentle personalities!)
