Bullet train is good to show the world how far India has progressed, but the existing infrastructure also needs attention and resolution with equal fervor. If we can dig a tunnel below the creeks for the bullet train, then we definitely can build the same technology tunnels to connect Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Panvel to Mumbai. Also, the top speed of the bullet trains will only be possible on the straighter and longer distances between stations, which is not possible within Maharashtra as that assigned stations are closer to each other. I was talking about Realignment of existing tracks, i.e. broadening to high radius curves, increasing sleeper density, embankments against fencing and railroad, Adjustment of superelevation of fixed S-curves. We actually need an extensive DFC too. Currently Railways is looking forward to upgrading existing rails to R350HT High Strength Rails, installation of Kavach Protection System all over the fleet, Amrit Bharat Stations, which are good things. But without Realignment of existing tracks, the way those tracks have low radius curves, 130 kmph is the maximum speed that can be achieved even if R350, Kavach is installed and DFC is built. Now of course if you say about HSR, it is simply Bullet train and its new tracks. After the Mumbai -Ahmedabad bullet, India is looking forward to building its own bullet capable of running 300+kmph speed, in 7 new routes.

We dont want fast trains, govt should first supply enough trains on existing tracks as common ppl are not able to book train acc to their wish, we need to book months in advance if traveling via train to any part of the country, tatkals are useless are without agents you cant book properly and limited coaches will always leave you with waiting ticket incas of emergencies
