Hey guys! I get a lot of people asking about why the twinkling stops about 16 seconds in. I made a fix for this which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/8I5EcKhWX0M/v-deo.html Hope that helps! ❤️
Jony Roy I’m sorry I was so frustrated the other day I didn’t mean to sound so rude. I’m reading what I said back and I definitely could have been much nicer so I apologize. I got stuck on where you said to right click and put it on screen. Because when I right click there is no screen option.
Thanks for providing this fix!
This tutorial really helped me out with a project! Thanks for taking the time to make it. It's really well done!
In case anyone can't find the "Screen" option for the Glowing Stars layer, click on the 3 horizontal bars next to his "Night Sky", mouse over "Columns" and enable "Modes"
Thanks! Was stuck right at this point. Legend
Jayden Lawson you’re welcome! Glad our comment helped someone haha 😃
Thanks everyone for the support! ❤️
I've been crazy busy but I am starting to work on my next videos!
Perfect! Just what I needed for this project!Great job
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you for making this tutorial!
It's not exactly what I wanted to do, but it's very similar. Thank you very much for this tutorial :)
This helped me for an intro to a wedding video. Thanks man. Amazing tutorial.

I love it! Nice results, simply and nice effect
I´m starting my career on animation! Loved your tutorial! Congrat´s!
Awesome video man! Super high production value. Keep making videos and the following will come :-)
A cool trick I've used to get a more realistic camera shake is to track a static point in a video and then apply that track data to the still footage. This basically applys real camera shake to something that wasn't recorded with a camera.
Feel comfortable😌 very nice tip!!
Great tut #JonyRoy... Sweet simple, and effective... Thanks
Thanks for the tutorial! It really helped me out! :)
Thank you saved me a lot of time trying to browse videos for an actual working one

Awesome tut, thank you!
Really nice tutorial man! Do more videos!
thanks for this, came out great.
Wow, great tutorial! I needed this for a student film. Great integration method. I do feel like the "twinkling" is a little too strong, but you may have done that so it stands out more.
Magnusson Productions thanks! I definitely brought it out more than what is realistic since I wanted it to stand out more in the shot and not get masked by UA-cam compression.
very nice - thank you. I have some footage I want to do this for just a section so this will come in very handy
Thanks, excellent tutorial!
beautiful effects! thank you~!
Muchas Gracias ✨ me funcionó efectivamente! 💛
This was super duper helpful! I'll link you to the project it helped me with once it's out (:

Very Nice! Thank you!
thanks dude, love you
thanks for the help!
nicely done!!
LOVE THIS
Do you have any tutorial of a spinning diamond or jewelry with twinkling star glow applied? Any thoughts of Trapcode Star Glow filter available for Adobe Aftereffects? I'm a noob in Aftereffects but want to achieve a star like glow on jewelry video and wanted to know the best ways to do it
thank so much your tutorial
Thank you.
This is very useful. :-)
Amazing, thank you.
thank you, helped a lot
Awesome tutorial, but I’m having the same issue as some other posters....the twinkle map works great with the turbulent noise, but nothing else with work/twinkle....thoughts? Ideas? Thank you!
Thank you brotha
Very useful!
Fantastic!
Great tutorial John. What i found, that in my composition "Overlay blending mode " gives better, cleaner result. Chears!
Maciej Ustynowicz interesting. Good to know, thanks!
Which layer do you have the blending mode set to overlay?
Thanks!
Does this work only with a dark sky? I am trying to have a twinkling star effect on a rather light purple and orange sky, but the twinkle map animation is showing through too much.
Perfect! Fanx!
Awesome!!
Came to find out how to do stars. Such a coincidence it was you!
Maybe you can help me.
I am trying to figure out how to take a star field such as this one and make all the stars align to form a person. How would I do this in After effects? And how could I give the stars color?
Any tips/advice is highly welcomed!
Merci beaucoup !
Thank you very much!!!!!
thank you very much bro
Thank you very much, UR MY GOD
Thank you so much maan
If you want longer twinkles the expression provided by Jony without the extra clicks:
freq = 2000;
amplitude = 16000;
m = amplitude;
i = time*freq;
m - (i % (2*m) - m);
It uses a saw wave to reset the values so they stay below 90 and don't cause issues.
could i get a overlay film thing? could u tell me how i get that? :) Thanks for the good contents always!
VERY COOL!
could i make it like the background in my video like a green screen edit
Great Tutorial, hope you will grow :)
IF ANYONE WANT MUCH MORE TWINKELING STARS JUST USE COLOR DOGE BLEND MODE
very nice!
THANNNNKSSS!! VERY MUCH!!
good tutorial :D
Hello, I am using adobe After effects cc 2017, but nothing happened, what should i do with that?
Muito bom 🇧🇷
Very helpful! Thanks so much dude! One question though, what expression would you use here if you wanted the evolution on the turbulent noise to increase infinitely or in a seamless loop?
Did you ever figure this out? I think it has to be Loopout() or Loopout("Pingpong") but I can't get it right
Hey Jony, my image has bright lights, and not all my stars show up when I do the curve adjustment
Thank u
Could someone please let me know how do I export the project properly? In the preview I do see the glow and the twinkling stars. But when I export it from Media Encoder, it doesn't bring the twinkle effect in the video after it's being exported.
thanks!
Hi, amazing tutorial, however I cannot find how to make the effect loop ? Can you help please
hello! i followed all your steps but my Fractal noise in the Twinkle map is showing still. and its not even enabled. : [ if you can help me out, that would be great!. im trying to finish an animation for a client.
I don't see any Expression option below evolution tab, Please help
i subscribed!!
Is there any app that can do the trick but customized (not all over the pic) I don’t know how to use after effects plz
thanks bro
How can I slow down down the speed of the twinkling ?
for some reason, I am having trouble mapping luma map with 2023 after effects. I clicked on screen and then track matte to Twinkle Map (Luma) but it still shows up the big white and black solid
what about the the twinkle map layer?
I’m having same problem as poster below. Everything works until I get to the changing Mode and Tracker on Starry Night layer (middle layer). First, I notice when you changed Mode to Screen, your original picture showed. That did not happen with me. After changing Track Matte to Luma, Starry Night layer was not twinkling. Bottom layer doesn’t twinkle. The only thing fluctuating is Twinkle Map layer.
Your Starry Night layer should be mostly black (as dark as possible) in order for your the Screen mode to work. Make sure that your Twinkle Map is directly above the stars layer, you should see it say "Luma Matte "Twinkle Map"" and then it should work
Cool !!!
