very good video im glad you showed about the safety systems because it just gives you the basics in the train module and never tells you or shows you in the tutorial its ok if you am expert but thry should really go and show you how to use these systems in the training i havent seen it there
Indeed it would be helpful. DTG use their fleet of ambassadors to fill this gap. There are plans for more advanced tutorials in the game and they are starting to appear in text form discussion articles in the game.
Is there somewhere I can find out how to reset the PCS after an unplanned emergency stop? The Driver assist message don't provide enough info for me to accomplish the task.
Yes, not all stock is compatible with each other and not all of it works in free roam or formation designer. The bombardier stock (I assume from Caltrain?) is from so long ago there's little chance of it working.
@@trainsimulatordriver epic, I'm just saddened by the lack of implementation of safety systems. Ik they couldn't implement PTC for technical reasons but what'd stop them from implementing atc/aces even though fictional
@@trainsimulatordriver I know Metrolink Dosent have aces/atc irl, but I feel like it'd feel better to have a safety system, even if unrealistic, compared to no safety system
What I find funny it's says it loading passengers but no one is on the platform or it's loading passengers and the train is empty also when driving you have Bushes in the middle of the track and the timetable is strange you arrive at one place and you suppose to be at the next a few minutes later making you late! also the speed changes quickly without notice. But it fun anyway.
Passengers are fickle in the game and real life. The loading passengers is really "dwell time" it's the timetabled length of time you sit with the doors unlocked/open. Often no one gets in in real life too. Speed changes without notice are real life. Real drivers learn the route and have it memorised so they know what speed to be doing when. On some routes that use permissive block signalling in cab ATC signals will change your speed unpredictably to keep you away from the train ahead of you. Turn on "track monitor" in the HUD settings. It will help with upcoming speeds and signals
Thank you for showing this. It will be very helpful
You’re welcome 😊
I think you have to manually turn on the rear cab car red maker lights. They are not on by default.. This helped me out ..thanks Paul. Great vid👍
Thanks, I shall pop down there for future runs and do that.

On free roam I can’t even open the doors
On what route, train and platform (steam, epic, xbox, playstation) and have you set a destination to you have a path?
Me To
@@trainsimulatordriver like when I open the metrolink doors and failed to open

Put the brake into suppression, throttle to off and wait a minute. It'll reset itself then you can drive again.
GREASE! I thought those flood channels looked familiar ;-)
Hehe yep 😂

When I drive it it tells me traction up ahead and it makes me go backwards what do I do
Sounds like the traction lock is on and you are rolling backwards. Are you running safety systems?
What do i do about the traction lock
Depends how you got it locked, can you tell me more about what you were doing leading up to it or upload video of it happening?
@@trainsimulatordriver I figured it out thanks!
@@thesegasquad6254 what was the issue?
I hand to turn on the engine 😂

In free roam, I tried using a Bombardier bi-level cab car to remotely control this loco in pusher configuration but it would not work

@@trainsimulatordriver It is a Caltrain car
@@evanstonbalce9588 it would be nice if Peninsula Corridor was brought to to current standards.
Overall, what do you think of antilope valley?
It's a nice mixture of hectic commuter and long runs. The scenery feels right. I used to visit the area quite a bit when I worked in California.

@@AviTheWolf the line doesn't have PTC or ATC so what they've done is realistic. The only downside is you can't use the locomotive on a PTC route.
@@AviTheWolf but then people would complain it wasn't realistic. Also there's nothing on the route or signalling to drive it.
Hey Paul, is it just me, or are the brakes on this loco very weak? I found myself using full-service all the time...
Not weak but they're typical Westinghouse brakes on the long train they're slow to apply and release.
@@trainsimulatordriver I haven't experienced that at all I just feel like the train needs a lot of distance to brake compared to others.
