I know that it's completely different music style but puffed cheeks are very very common in eastern Europe/balkans and turkey. And guess what, the best clarinet players come from there

Ngl I agree and I know other players puff out their cheeks for some reason but I hate it when I see it. (Not giving this creator hate at all that's just my personal opinion)

@@kyrpousinI’m not a clarinet player so I can’t really comment on the last part, but if I use a jazz embouchure on a classical piece, it just won’t sound as good as it could, doesn’t matter on whether or not I’m an amazing jazz player

@@kylesparks1826 no it wasnt. Jazz wasnt even invented when clarinet was used for that purpose. It was used for classical coming from the chalameu in the 1700s. Jazz wasnt popular with clarinet until the 1920s and 30s

@@kylesparks1826 plus clarinet isnt used really in jazz. It got overshadowed by the saxophone. It is always used in concert while in jazz it can or cannot. Without clarinet in concert would be weird and bad. Im not saying hazz clarinet is bad. Im a clarinetist myself. I love playing jazz. But to say it would be used more in jazz would just be wrong

@edwardholder429 yeah your right about it being made way before jazz, I was tripping. It was heavily used in jazz early on though, and in my opinion, the oboe sounds a lot nicer and is a better concert instrument.

    Mouthpiece
    Barrel
    Top joint
    Bottom joint
    And bell
Also the clarinet can play quite literally any genre of music it just depends on if the person can play it bc I play fur Elise on mine all the time while I also play marches and stuff also with playing your clarinet I recommend using a 2-2.5 since your newer it will help you play easier
