Thank you! Great how you’ve noticed the fingerings! My A clarinet isn’t that perfect in tuning, I often have to use alternative fingerings to make it sound well tempered ;)
Clarinetist is perfect, but if I had a conductor take it this slow, I would have to change careers :-) You can tell the soloist is trying everything to get the tempo up. It does make quite a bit of time to allow the high D to become heavenly. And big breath for the last note. What a great player!
I don't think I've ever heard this peace conducted faster, but I certainly understand the feeling. Usually the solo is felt more than it is conducted so part of it is the clarinet as well.
I'm not familiar with this but I don't hear any rhythmic tension with the soloist and the conductor .I've played drums for 50 years and rhythmic nuance is tricky to say the least. What do I know? I loved it.
As a trumpet in my school band, we're known for hating clarinets; however, I actually love the instrument when it is played as shown, so skillfully and softly. In fact, I feel as though this clarinet-hating reputation has only spread from those who have witnessed our gutteral screams upon hearing the goose-like tone of most players in the band.
Rachmaninoff certainly knows how to make things subtle and romantic!
Fedoseyev seems crying... I could not help hearing with tears. It is truly a divine performance.
The control of the dynamic is mesmerizing!!This sound wonderful
Thank you so much!

I think this is the best version ive heard!! and Ive been obsessed with this movement for days. Great performance!
Thank you! Please check out the other clarinet videos on my channel! 😉
Obsessed by just one movement? The whole symphony is the greatest ever. The 4th movement also has the greatest finale of any piece of music.
