Years ago, someone binned a new Veyron into the hedge by me (Littleton Lake)- clearly driven by someone with all the gear, but no idea. It took me 40 years to get to the IoM- it did not disappoint 🙂

Thankfully, it seems like nobody was seriously injured in this incident, that's more important than the lack of talent blah blah blah brigade going on about it while not knowing what happened, the car will be replaced or, if the carbon isn't damaged, be repaired. Either way the important thing is everyone is safe.
Last went 2019 and was stunned at the number of cars camper vans etc on roads aside from locals who are going about their daily business . Can remember in eighties island was awash with bikes during tt very little cars now seems other way sadly .
Trouble with these cars is they flatter an inexperienced driver into believing they can drive fast. It takes years of experience at speed with no driver aids to become a safe racing driver. When things suddenly malfunction or go wrong it's muscle memory that saves you.

I was speaking to the recover crew. Part of the extended clean up was that the wheels had buckled under the car and they could not pull it up onto the recovery truck. They had to get the hi-ab grab to lift it on.

I'm not sure you can but just being here is awesome. The public transport is excellent for getting to the different places to watch, the pubs are great, everyone is friendly, its worth coming even without a bike.

He was up hobbling and other bikes were involved. It was pretty dodgy the speed differentials. Still, brilliant.

Been to IOM 76 to 80 TT and the Manx GP had some good times on mad Sunday it was just a free for all one way on mountain section , no cones just manx police marshalling at the bungalow ,great memory's don't know how I survived Off the ferry one year a 4:30 am empty roads , you got have a lap haven't you ! like an idiot did Ballaugh Bridge on racing line luckily go away with it , bikes now are amazing ,still riding bikes but much slower Great video keep safe and fast

It was me he was trying to race, i was at 165mph as he tried to come around the outside of me as we approached the bend, i was on the front wheel mega stoppy to avoid hitting him…..total idiot all the car and no skill ! He lost the back end bounced off the wall into the post and wire fence which acted like a sling shot and launched into the wall again. I then spent 20 mins traffic control.
A car crashed into my parked bike and ripped out the petrol tap and squashed one the wheels. I had it repaired at the free repair place (can't remember its name as it was back in the early 90s) and I was able to ride the bike back home to Yorkshire :-)

Years ago Evo magazine did a feature about driving fast cars on the few unlimited roads left in the world. They took a Porsche Carrera GT to do 200 mph on the Autobahn (it was difficult even overnight because of other traffic), another car to Australia where they did the central north-south highway and took the fastest accelerating car on sale in the U.K. at the time, it was American, to the IoM. They set off early in the morning and at about the half way point they pointed out that despite the speed they had been travelling at that was the point that a top TT bike would have been lapping them. Top speed and acceleration are important but speed from A-B is what counts.
