Amazing work as usual, love your channel and your dedication to us new guys and keeping it safe in the top. Will be getting the kit when available, nothing like having the right tools at your fingertips.
August, This video is totally cool! I really like the "mollys," and the tip about keeping them all going in the same direction. I'm soo new to this but, those things are HUGE! Keep up the good work!
really wish my boss would get that, its a real nice set up!the last kit was a CHEAP 1 & got scattered disassembled etc.now ive been left with SO many jobs that i couldve used it on.
I have used a rock climbng shoulder sling to attach my speed line slings, since I first zipped a limb, circa 1990.... At least six years ago, at the Boise ISA conference. Dan Kraus gave a speed line demo. He used a small stuff bag to put his slings in... easy to reach in and grab the top one...... neater than having a bunch of sliings hanging from your harness--- as unless its the first turn of zipping, my slings aren't neatly daisy chained. Anyhow, I just got a nice, stiff DMM stuff bag that could hold 20 slings.... breaking it in tomorrow on four large firs that we're prepping to be craned out Thursday...
Right on. Ya, I've been doing it forever too. I find the molly less like a ball and chain than the the bag. All the clips oriented nicely on one ring with gates all the same direction helps me shave time off the project every time I reach for another sling.
Great video so far, I made it to 11:12 minutes. Going to watch the rest another night. Really liked the commentary and safety tips and extra info for your watchers. Those snaps look excellent! Looks like the best speedline kit out there. I never had a "molly" to put my loop runners on. Always just used the last loop runner and had a unique color for that last loop runner or a different looking biner on it. Then groundperson knows I'm all out and puts all the looprunners on that one. But the "molly" is a good idea. What's it stand for?
Hmmm, I just call it a molly because it resembles the molly I have seen cable splicers make. Just a piece of cable spliced into a perfect circle. So technically it's not actually a molly but I named it that.
Dude....all I can say is I have money,I have trees,I need to be able to buy these quick haha very interesting product can't wait to order a set.and created by a fellow climber not some nerd in a factory, oh yea I'm all in
I'll suggest to our safety coordinator to get this, I'm glad you mentioned that the non locking carabiner came off your rope, it happened to me couple of times (nobody got hurt). PS: did i see a beer belly at 11:21?
Man i wish i could afford some gear. I own the bare- boned basics but I guess i'm what you'd consider a hobby arborist (in training) . I have 7 acres absolutely covered in trees and 90%of them need work. I can't afford to pay somebody to have all the fun so i'm doing it myself on the weekends.
hey im only four months in to climbing...been around tree work my whole life my dad is the head Forman n i watch your channel all the time and just wanted to know if their is other trees you can use this zip line on ..just bc most are all pines you i see you do ...so if you could make video on another type of tree cuz out here in the Philadelphia p.a...not too many pine tree out here ...just trying to lean ...well thanks you have been a big help to me i reall don't have anyone teaching me we had to fire are climber cuz of his drug problem so i took into my own hands to help my company out n i just want to be safe and good at what i do n i love what i do ever since i was a kid i was always fascinated with waching the climbers ...thanks - ROB T phila pa ...
Excellent thoughts my friend. As far as Speed-lining trees goes. It's helpful on any tree of height. Speed lining requires enough height for clearance of the obstacles below.
So interesting. Speedlining seems such a cleaver way to do what you do. Nice truck by the way. Have you checked out RETRAX pro bed covers? They are really nice, only problem is fitting an older truck like yours. Anyway nice video.
Nice job on the speediness kit! I'll be picking one up when they come out! Are they available from new tribe or tree stuff when they do come out? Can't wait to see the harness you guys are working on! I'm sure it'll be awesome! Keep up the great work and videos !
Really great vid august,im impressed with the speedline kit,one question though-do the slings come in different lengths or r they all the same length. The reason i ask is i find i can use slings in a whole host of applications not just fr speedline.
August if you don't mind me asking how much investment do you have in rigging equipment including climbing equipment? Not including the chippers, trucks,or the skid steer,
August, I've been looking around for this speed line kit, which looks awesome, but can't seem to find it. All TreeStuff.com has is their simple one. If you are producing this, please direct me to where I can get the kit. If not, you seriously should.
@@AugustHunicke Great! I look forward to it. I am relatively new to this community (6mos) and have really enjoyed watching you, Buckin', and Human do your thing. Haven't heard of them. I like this one I think it's made by ART or something like that.
When and where are these available?

Thanks, Will be available first from TreeStuff. Still working out the details, production costs etc.
have you tested the slings in the kit for the breaking strength,or have you determined the breaking strength?
I wonder if first responders might be interested in a variation of this for evacuating a high-rise? It would be scary as hell but ...
Really great vid august,im impressed with the speedline kit,one question though-do the slings come in different lengths or r they all the same length. The reason i ask is i find i can use slings in a whole host of applications not just fr speedline.
We can make you a kit with longer or shorter slings. The thing is, the snap is dedicated to the sling with my system.
is the mic in the helmet recording the audio for the camera ?
I could probably use it for that but so far I'm not smart enough. It's just native sound with a go Pro camera mic picking it up.
August if you don't mind me asking how much investment do you have in rigging equipment including climbing equipment? Not including the chippers, trucks,or the skid steer,
“Why I saw it on UA-cam once, doesn’t that make me a professional now?”
Hi August where I can buy the Speed line kit
please let me know tnx... great work. God bless you
What are your thoughts on spiral thinning a fir tree to remove the mass and allow air flow?
Never heard of spiral thinning. Reducing wind sail is smart tho if done responsibly.
great job mr. h ..... you are one smart feller ....... ( or is it faller?)
When???_--I talked to new tribe and they said you would know better. Thanks
Brilliant idea. Will they be available for the UK?
TreeStuff ships there. If they don't, which they do. I'm sure anything could be arranged.
+August Hunicke. Awesome can't wait to try it out.
How are you getting on with the Matt Cornell saddle August? No one in the uk has them so not like I can go try one on.
+scott jones Its a solid choice, but difficult to talk about much since I am working on my own design : /
When will these be available?
I say this all the time, but I honestly believe that very soon. Within two or three weeks.
Hi August, Thanks for vid, i need a set sent to the UK
cant find your set up on Tree stuff
Should be ready by late December.
+August Hunicke dec 15 actually
ok cheers
nice xmas present to myself
Hope this new saddle beats out the competition.
Thanks. Thanks for the positive thought. I never really imagined such a thing though myself LOL.
Do you know when that will be available?
I rock climb and climb trees. you suggest me just trying that?
I don't understand the question. If you are doing tree removal jobs then my answer would be yes if you are properly experienced/trained.
where do you buy this
Is anything in this video still made?
Modified versions

Where can I buy the kit?... I need one, like now.
Hang in there, very very soon. Perhaps I could send you my personal care if it's that pressing.
On treestuff.com it says the slings are 23" where can I get the 28"?
WILLIAM AADLAND maybe they changed it. I don’t know, they cut me out of the deal after Sherrill took over. Save your money for series 2.
How can I obtain me a SPEED line kit i need 1 or 2.
