He was a sailor in the Hanseatic League and married a woman from the Netherlands - Grietje Peiters. I feel so grateful to have traveled in Norway extensively and somehow having "roots" there seems perfect.

I know that South from Trondheim you can expect a few hours of daylight in December but further north I thought the night would rule the whole month of December. But I only visited Norway several times: in the months of June, July and early September (amazing colours in the forests). In June 24 hours of daylight, seeing a sun that bounces back from the Sea horizon in Lofoten, never to go under. Incredible; a magical and blessed country. One time in my life I will visit the far North in the Winter, to enjoy the Northern Lights and to feel the cozyness of a warm fire and many candles in nice wooden cabin. In a snowy landscape, watching an unspoiled night sky. Greetings from a Dutch living in Switzerland (sunset 16:40 and rise 8:13 ;) )

Thanks for sharing. You are a beautiful couple. I know that South from Trondheim you can expect a few hours of daylight in December but further north I thought the night would rule the whole month of December. But I only visited Norway several times: in the months of June, July and early September (amazing colours in the forests). In June 24 hours of daylight, seeing a sun that bounces back from the Sea horizon in Lofoten, never to go under. Incredible; a magical and blessed country. One time in my life I will visit the far North in the Winter, to enjoy the Northern Lights and to feel the cozyness of a warm fire and many candles in nice wooden cabin. In a snowy landscape, watching an unspoiled night sky. Greetings from a Dutch living in Switzerland (sunset 16:40 and rise 8:13 ;) )
