- So with the 9th generation of video games coming by the end of this year, stores like Gamestop will most likely be pushing out the 7th generation of video games out of their stores. When this happens, more than likely the price will go up on certain titles since resellers have the option to do so. Even if that is not the case, now is the time to look for certain titles on the cheap

I have the Metal Slug anthology collection for the Wii and I love it plus I have DuckTales remastered and The High moon Studios Transformers war for Cybertron and fall of Cybertron
Get them before Game Stop throws them away lol.
Then they have the regret of throwing them away, because then they become BC, and then the very little copies they have left will be priced high as fuck. LOL I remember seeing video of factory workers cutting up copies of ps2 xbox Gamecube games away for recycle. Awful.
Lollipop Chainsaw's story was written by James Gunn the Guardians Of The Galaxy director. I loved that game. one of the few PS3 games I actually Platinum and got all the trophys for.

So glad I kept my Super Slim PS3 and about 50 games. All my older consoles still work and I always look for games for them. Great video as always Reggie.
IF you can find El Shaddai, Knights Contract, Operation Darkness, Deadly Premonition, Splatterhouse, and or Akai Katana, get them asap before too late. They will definitely be VERY expensive in near future. Operation Darkness is already demanding $45 average online lol.

Yep, I'm late to the party and everything that was cheap years ago is outrageously expensive. The Simpsons game, Captain america super soldier, X men origins wolverine are a few that were dirt cheap a little while ago.
Gamestop is likely to close their doors in your area before you get around to it anyway.

It's their loss by ceasing the sale of classics. It's not like ppl are gonna stop buying them. My local pawn shops don't sell PS3s no more for instance. It's online sellers gain and classic gaming stores.
Already bought every 7th gen game I wanted most from Gamestop for under $10/ea over the last 2 years by only buying during sales.
The one thing I love about the 7th gen is that it was the first HD generation and the last where a supermajority of games were sold as full/complete (not much of the DLC, seasonpass nonsense) games.
Also, all 3 home consoles were amazing 360, PS3, Wii, each had plenty of solid exclusives and offline multiplayer games.
The Wii had many Nintendo exclusives and I loved some of the better motion control games to play with friends,
the 360 had some of the best shooters and cheap multiplatform games that didn't need to be installed to the hard drive,
the PS3 had a blu ray player and most of the good RPGs and fighters. I still have all 3 hooked up and play the crap out of them to the point I haven't felt the need to get a current gen console yet lol.
I went to gamestop yesterday bc they had a buy 2 get 2 free for 360 and ps3 games so I bought quite a bit of them
I find they never have many 5$ gmes when I go for those systems

In the uk we have a shop called CeX, they have racks and racks of Xbox 360 and ps3 games and apart from the more expensive outliers you can pick hundreds of games up for like £1 to £2.50. That’s like 70c to $1.70. I think I picked up the mass effect trilogy for about £4.50 and the dead space trilogy for about £7. Good times!

Can you tell me why they cut the Spec ops campaign from the game and made it dlc? It felt like that campaign should have been on the disc
@@The_RadicalOne Man it was so long ago and as a coder we were kind of kept apart from a lot of those decisions and conversations. I left before the DLC development started and now that I think on it I don't remember ever really playing through SpecOps content during development of the initial game but I do remember seeing people working on it here and here so maybe it was always intentional to make it DLC. I'll ask some people I know who were on the design team and see if they remember.

@@The_RadicalOne So according to my buddy who was on the design team there just wasn't enough time to get the SpecOps missions polished enough before the ship date which was pretty much set in stone by Capcom. Roughly half the SpecOps missions were completed by the time the game shipped so you're probably pretty close to the mark - I think if the schedule had allowed for it, the SpecOps missions would have been released at the same time and probably at some point early on that was the intention before reality kind of kicked in a little bit.
Reggie, you are awesome. every video you do with MJR is absolutely amazing and it feels like hanging out with a buddy. and of course the ones you do on your own are this as well - but there is something about your chemistry with MJR that makes those videos more perfect. I wish there were more people in this world as genuine and sympathetic as you are, it would make the world a better place. wish I could meet you some day but thats veeery unlikely so I wish you all the best and keep watching you on YT! if you came up to me asking to lend you money or go out for a beer I wouldn't hesitate one moment to do it - there are not so many people like this.

Spec Ops the line + Fear + Fear 2 + Dead Space 1 .... are all on GOG, so their best versions are all archived forever with no DRM on PC which is good.
I’ve been stacking ps3 and 3ds games lately. They are probably at the lowest prices they will ever be and I have good memories with those systems!
Just about the same here, I've been stacking up games for the 3ds, gba, & vita. BTW, if anyone knows where I can get the full 6 game gba Megaman battle network collection & full 4 3ds game megaman startforce series & not get ripped off, please let me know.
William Jones Good luck with that lol. If you were asking this back in like 2010 it may have been easier to help you find them cheaper lol. That’s the issues of collecting “older” games. Especially Nintendo cartridge games..

Great Video Reggie. I jumped on My 7th Gen Collecting in 2016 when things were being moved in to the Bargain Bins. Alot of or almost all EBs and Games Stops in Canada dont have any 7th gen stuff. IN 2017 everything 7th gen was like 9 dollars and down and Thats when I bought everything. Nobody was buying it at the time so I said I will cause it was dirt Cheap, I remember too the guy at EB thanking me because they said the could get rid of it fast enough. Then I said dont worry I'll help you.
Resistance franchise, kof 13, tekken tag 2, dead space trilogy, mk9..... this was a great generation.

I love my remasters and remakes as much as anyone but this gen was a really weird one to me. It seemed like I bought a lot of games I really liked multiple times. I wish it was just like a token across platforms to where I don’t have to keep buying em to play but hey will see what the next gen has in store lol

Took your advice and got me a few games. Got a great deal and got really lucky. Some guy was trading in a 2 disc Mario Kart Double Dash for Game Cube, Mint condition. I spotted it at the counter and they let me use that game for the buy 2 get 2! Thanks Reggie!

Undernight Inbirth is totally an underrated fighting game and I love the graphical style, figures you would have heard about it since im pretty sure you could open a fighting game museum at this point lol

Depending on the console, the modern generations are rife with remakes/remasters or just straight ports to modern consoles. Making games that did release in that generation, that won't be released again (or already been released) the exception rather than the rule. Especially with the growing Netflix-type services for games in the future, they are all going to be vying for content and publishers sitting on these games are just going to start flooding them on those services, as it's money just sitting there for them.
So there's going to be very few games worth spending money on in my eyes with modern games. But yeah if you can get the games on clearance for pennies, go for it. But be weary of spending any kind of big amount for a modern game.
I've said for a long time now that the PS3 is the end for retro collecting, passed that point games will never have that massive value, limited run games won't have anything on working designs etc.

You might get the odd one which fits certain criteria, whether its being banned, censored in certain regions or lost rights to music in future release etc that may get some natural value. But on the whole they're all gonna be pretty much worthless. And as an adage, they are all going to play better down the line on newer hardware. So there's not much upside lol
Enslaved: Oddyssey to the West looks awesome with the crazy acrobatics and parkour kinda stuff. I love games that have that kind of clever level traversal. Had My heard of it before, Thanks Reggie!

Nice list. I just bought Lollipop Chainsaw. I like Raccoon city too. I preordered it and it came in a steel case with 2 patches you can sew on your favorite jacket.
Enslaved is one of my fav games ever such a great game ninja theory really hits the hack and slash genre on head I wish they come out with more

Love the PS3 generation! Please make more Reggie. Seconding Lollipop Chainsaw, that game is crazy! It's a Suda51/Grasshopper Studios release who also did the Killer Is Dead and No More Heroes series teaming up with James Gunn who did the Guardians of the Galaxy movies (think I heard he was doing the next Suicide Squad too). The game is just as crazy as it sounds!
Alpha Protocol is an awesome underrated game tbh. Kinda felt like a James Bond RPG or something.
I just got back from a few gamestops because of the buy 2 get 2 free sale. Sliiiiim pickings with games that come with case and manuals. Picked up New Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Party Star Rush for the 3ds,, and Harvest Moon Animal Parade, and Pandora's Tower for the Wii. Not bad.
How do you confirm if it comes with the case and manual?
@@MegaFinalRound Oh I bought in store. That what I mean by slip pickings. They had a lot of games I wanted but very few with games that came with original case and manual. Just generic GameStop cases.
Looks like Gamestop will be out of business before the next generation comes out anyways.
kinda hard not to see why tho....they've been going downhill for a long time and when ps4/xb1 hit they really started tanking from what I could tell....at least in terms of things I noticed in store....

EB games in Canada has been offering all sorts of sales in the last year. In fact they are having a 70% off sale next week for all PS3 and Xbox 360 games. I think the best deal they offered was Buy 1 Get 6 Free.
Enslaved is an overall great game, one of my favorite from last generation if a tad repetitive but benefits from great characters, story and wonderful moments. Like the intro which is one of the best i ever seen. I don't get why it didn't get enough praise.
I got Star Ocean and Splatterhouse too! Came in a generic case though, same with Infinite Undiscovery.
The fact that I have all those games and most of them I got them when they came out tells me something. Either I have very good taste on games or I have a problem.
It's true though, get all these games while you can. Some of these experiences don't exist on the current consoles (lollipop chainsaw, for example) so it will be a very worthwhile experience.

EB Games here in Canada was selling all Xbox 360 and PS3 games for $3 I was able to get a few random games I have never heard of before

Alpha Protocol is a good game that is very overlooked. You should definitely finish it Reggie. I don't think you will be disappointed. To anyone who is considering this game but has never played it be advised ALPHA PROTOCOL DOES HAVE A BIT OF A LEARNING CURVE. That said, it's worth playing through to the end.

IT actually makes sense that Anime fighters would be a sub category conidering how many fighters with just 2d anime characters have been around since the 90s. Its like how apprrpriate jrpg is versus rpgs in the west.

Good choices! You should also be on the lookout for the Lords of Shadow Collection (1&2 in one package), which is how I got those games. Also, you probably know by now that Vanquish and Bayonetta are now available in a 10th Anniversary bundle for PS4 and Xbox ONE - If you are willing to pay the $40 price for it.
I know one good physical buy , the Farcry Compilation on Xbox 360, the only way to get a single physical copy of Farcry3: Blood Dargon!!! No one should miss that gem!!!

In the last 6 months I ended up getting all the generation 7 consoles (my 360 died long ago, and I never bothered getting another one or anything else from that generation, just stuck with my older systems). There's a bunch of GameXchange stores in the area and they always have a "buy 2 under $7.99 and get 1 free". Most common games of this generation are between $3 to $5 there. So I've bought over 300 titles since late last year. Here in the Dallas area, we also have Movie Trading Company stores with higher prices than GameXchange but slightly better selections. I haven't gone into a GameStop in years (probably back when they clearanced out all their Nokia N-Gage games to show you how long it's been), I guess I'll put my hatred of GameStop aside and check one out.

Baltimore Retro Gaming it use to be $10 at GameStop but they raised it to $15 for some reason.
Cool thing is that some of these are playable on Xbox One now!
Sega racing transformed is still the best kart racer I've ever played. I think it's better than MK8 and much better than the more recent Team Sonic Racing. Man, I played the hell out of transformed, got 100% completion on it (actually completion rate went above 100% iirc!) and over 60 hours of play. Same with Alice Madness returns. I even got the artbook for that one.
Gamestop still sells most gen games online. Everyone always hating on them, but their deals be killin it(buy 2get2free, buy2get1free) and SOMETIMES games are cheaper then local shops and ebay/amazon

Dead s\Space is a great trilogy. Hope someday they bring it back. Far as Gamestop, they aren't my favorite place for buying games but if it goes down it isn't good for gamers. Less choice is never a good thing and it's another blow to physical game sales.

Local used game store chain had a 25% off ps3 games this past weekend. Picked up Resistance 3, Journey C.E., Killzone 3 and Lost Planet 2. Added a bunch of your games to my wishlist.
I don't think cheap ps3 games are going away. There are plenty of alternatives to gamestop.

There's also a second Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. The game has two new story modes P3 characters and P4 characters instead of each character having their own individual story. Also there's a survival mode that's sort of like SFA3 World Tour mode,
