I admit I was not feeling Alicia Keys at all on her first record. I felt she was just sooo overhyped and most of us hadn’t gotten over Aaliyah. But as soon as I heard You Don’t Know My Name I had to give props.
I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it and I was literally like 😳. Ain’t never questioned this woman’s talent since and it’s still my absolute favorite song from her and Diary a close second👌, then Doesn’t Mean Anything.
When I was listening to this beautiful tune and I thought to myself damn this sounds too good to be true for today’s music it sounds like the music from the 70s, sure enough it’s a cover from the main ingredients let me prove my love to you... no disrespect to Alicia, but thank God we had real music back in the 70s!!!!!
That song was dope when it dropped the moment I heard it I was like thats a hit🎼
This joint and Teenage Love Affair is Alicia at her Dopest....
I can relate to that song so much! Delta like this so many times. You can be the prettiest girl but there is that one guy who just doesn't notice you. Yet other men do.
