Had a uncle was 82nd ,went to Vietnam 69. Probably around sept.,oct,nov69. Because the 82nd left soon thereafter for s.america ,he was assigned to the 101st screaming egles. Can anyone tell me how they did that.? Like what unit he might have been assigned, a place I could start looking. I know he was infantry, heard him talk about phi bai, hue,danang,cam ran bay. He used to tell me how good those huey pilots were. I know he had 1prpl.heart. maybe 2. A bronze I think it had a V on it. I would ask him what he did there. He said he went on a year long hike through the jungle ,he called it' Humping dem hills" He left the world way to soon. He died of old age at 44yrs. old 09-20-49 to 09-15-94. He was humble but proud of his family, proud of his service, and he would lite up when he would talk about jumping out of airplanes, Although I don't think he got to do that much in Vietnam. More like jumping into foxholes. I could use all of the info I could get so I could maybe find pictures of him, public records of were and what he did there. And maybe friends he had there. They could have pics,with him in them. I don't have access to anything like that. And don't know how to find it, I'm his nephew, I have been getting, I have to be his next of kin.
2/508th in 1945. Most probably taken at Frankfurt-Am-Main while the 508th was on occupation duty.
It was in France.

Today's "safe handling" of firearms wasn't practiced 75 years ago, these guy's were pooking eachother with loaded guns, you know?! ... for fun hahaha
