    The Smothers Brothers
The Smothers Brothers, Tom and Dick, are one of the most iconic comedy duos in the history of television. Tom and Dick began performing as a duo in the late 1950s, playing in coffeehouses and clubs in San Francisco. Their act consisted of music, comedy, and witty banter, which quickly gained them a following.
The Smothers Brothers became a household name in the late 1960s with their variety show, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. The show was groundbreaking in its approach to comedy, pushing the boundaries with political satire and social commentary. The show also featured up-and-coming musical acts, including The Doors and The Who, and introduced the world to comedians like Steve Martin and George Carlin.
The Smothers Brothers' irreverent style has made them a beloved and enduring force in American comedy.

The joys of sibling rivalry -- the Smothers Brothers captured it better than anyone else.

I don't know what I like better -- their comedy, or there singing. They were great at both.

I think this was the first song I heard TSB perform. Either this or Boil The Cabbage Down. Anyway, it started my life long appreciation for these guys.

In the early 70s my father had a reel to reel tape player and all the Smothers Brothers tapes he brought back from his deployment in the Air Force. My fondest memories are of the hours listening and singing and laughing along with my father and the smothers brothers. Sadly the player and all the tapes were stolen.
There are some performances from those tapes that I’ve never been able to find again. Some that I would give almost anything to hear again and download to let my father, now in the throes of Parkinson’s disease to laugh with me again like we did when I was his little girl….pumas in the cravices, smoking crayolas and drawing in the dirt, the one wheeled wagon and the rooster that killed his dog, cream of asparakeet, the cat that landed on his feet and came up the stairs going quack quack, and Cap’n can we row our boat today?………
    ……..
    …no….😂
It wasn’t till years later that I understood the “went to town to spend their meager weeks wages to buy an oar” joke.🥰
I’ve found the songs, but not those particular jokes. If there are any fans out there who can point me to any of those performances, I would be forever grateful ❤
