Excellent video! I needed to know how to remove all the A/C stuff to get the valve cover off for a cam/phaser job. Thanks!
Perfect job!!!! great explanation, and at the right speed for non mechanics as well...Too often the little and most important things are left out... The only downside is now I have to do it!!! Thanks again!!!
Thanks for making this helpful video!
What size disconnecters.........????
Thank you sir! This was very helpful.
I cut my accumulator line off to make room.
very thorough explanation. Thanks for sharing bro!
Why don't you show removing the line. That is the part I can't get off.
You need to get an ac conector remover
Man, you did a great job of getting this process onto video with great (simple) explanations for each step. I have the parts to rebuild my 2004 f150 sitting in my garage, and needed to learn the process for removing (and locating) the dryer. Your teaching process is good. Keep producing them and you will eventually start making money on youtube. I bought the vacuum gauge assembly from O'Reilly's to pull a vacuum on my system and use the Freon from the store to refill, but I'm taking it back, getting my refund and going to have the gas added professionally like you said.
Get after it! Thanks for watching.
The refrigerant can be removed with a vacuum pump if you own one. Connect the hose to the low pressure port. It’s usually marked by being blue or with “L.”
Can you do a video on ac compressor oil leaks between the firewall & engine. Same engine.
Oil leaked on transmission. Blown line maybe??
Ac refrigerant leaked onto the transmission?
Just the oil leaked down on it. I thought my transmission was leaking but it was ac compressor oil.
@Tigger1068 not sure why ac compressor “oil” would even be near the transmission. Are you sure it’s not something else leaking?
Good work. Explained things well.
Excellent!!!! Great job
Thanks for the info.Looks like it maybe took an hour to do. The only thing I would’ve done different is to clean all the plastic parts before reinstalling them(battery tray, etc). A clean engine compartment is a happy one.
Would anyone mind letting me know where the Orfice Tube is on this truck? I have the same truck.. pressures are climbing up to 450 and the safety is popping the compressor off. I have a blockage somewhere and likely replacing the this and orfice tube. I know my compressor is good, AC works for a good 20 minutes then, pressures climb and it clicks off.
If you watch the video and get to 6:22, that line I’m holding. Just follow that towards the radiator where it meets a flare but. Pull that apart and the orifice tube and filter should be in the end of that hose. I actually replaced the filter in this truck in this video. It was severely clogged up!
I wanted to comment and thank you for this really great, well done video (as well as the compressor video).
ecellant video!!
I have a big problem so I did this and now my engine cranks but won’t start idk if it has something to do with the ecm someone pls help
Crank sensor cable fell off
If just replacing the receiver dryer / accumulator should PAG oil be added and where?
If you get the system properly evacuated they can note how much oil came out and just refill the same amount back in when the system is recharged. That’s the easiest way to be 100% sure.
Is there a specific type of gasket or o ring set to get? Also how do you replace them? I missed that in the video.
There will be some gaskets and o-rings that come with this drier assembly. They don’t need to be installed since most of the assemblies come with the gaskets pre installed.
If you are talking about replacing all the o-rings and gaskets in the system, you could buy a master set and replace them all. This video is not going to show any of that.
26820 a/c kit from oreily had all new o rings for my 2006 f150
How did you know this was the problem?
I replaced the compressor on this vehicle because the clutch physically broke. I replace the driers when I do major ac work such as replacing the compressor. I also suggest replacing the orifice tube and filter when doing this drier replacement. I bet it’s clogged up.
Did you put oil in dryer?
No. Oil is administered through a specialized AC machine at the ac shop.
Duhhh.. In other words just get a shop to do the whole job
Definitely an option for you.
Or save a few hundred bucks and do it yourself
