Got my out of state license yesterday. Ringing in 2019 with fishing in st Pete's. Just moved to Florida permanently so thanks for the tip.on the little crabs as bait. They are everywhere here in south sarasota.
I love rod n reel but ive been fishing anna maria for about 6 years and there are always the same 5 old people sitting in the corner hogging the sheepshead spots and they get there at the buttcrack of dawn 😂
Once again...great video! I like how you used your thumb to pin down that rock crab (or stone crab.) That first sheepshead you caught...was that at the Rod and Reel? Looks like you are at docks. Also how did you rig the line? I've been told to use a split shot weight just above the hook. Thanks!
Wow looks good brother! I used to live out in St.Pete in 2000 but you should come up here in Boston and RI for fishing. We target similar fish like Scup fish and Tautogs. Tight lines!
You went to Anna Maria island but that wasn't rod and reel pier that you caught those sheeps at. I've been scouring google map to pin point the location. Could you show me where that is?
I wish I'd known about those little crabs a long time ago. We've been trying to catch sheepshead at our dock down the street for years with shrimp. We get a few but it looks like the crab is a lot better bait. Off to the oyster beds next week.
Awesome vid! I have been focusing on the sheepshead bite around my area and have had great luck with hauling them in. Thinking about doing a catch and cook wdy think? What's the best way to prepare one
Great video, but was all of this shot in the anna maria/Bradenton area? I've been wanting to take a trip over there but I've been worried about the red tide I love that area but it's a 2 hour drive for me. Any feedback that you can give me on the red tide in that area would be great thanks
loving your vids bro and im a local who has came and bought lures from you lol if you need a camera guy or ever wanna put me on my first snook let me know until then ill be on the water my friend
Check out Rad Reeling Fishing, he just did 2 videos on mud crabs, or rock crabs, and stone crabs. Look for white bands on the legs, that's a stone crab. If in doubt, throw it back. Cool vid.
2023 - I'm surprised anyone catches much of anything from the pier as the boaters come every morning and strip the pier of bait fish with their cast nets. I've seen as many as 4 boats working both sides of the pier at one time.
I agree with you, here in the city of Vítória where I live in Brazil, we call this trophy fish, so special that it is, very good to fish for its sportsmanship and a real delight to eat, hug and congratulations on the channel won one more writing.

Best place ever!
It’s a cool place for sure !
your audio as you speak is very low, and suddenly you turn the background music really loud, that makes it hard to watch, specially with earphones
Nice catches. Interesting title. You didn't actually catch the fish there, ha ha...Man I love to eat Pompano.
