Tipper, I think one of your greatest blessings and treasures is that you still have your mother with you. Cherish every single moment you have with her, because those memories will one day be more precious than any material possession you could have. ❤
I never had a Nana . Now, I am a Nana myself. My mum had me at 45 and both my Nanas had gone to God.. Treasure your mums and Nanas and ask them lots about your history and their childhood.
I really enjoy your interviews and talks with people. One of the things that really stand out to me is that you ask a question and allow people to not only respond to the question but allow their own words and thoughts to carry the conversation. You don't have a need to hurry them along. Your kind and gentle and interested in all they have to say and it shows. Of course anytime we get to chat with Granny is a treasure ❤️. God bless!
Tipper, your little mother is so precious I just want to hug her. She’s so genuine and loved her husband and family so much. I always wanted a bride doll when I was a little girl, but we had no money to buy it. So, when I saw Granny’s doll I wanted to cry with joy. And, she’s kept it so nice all these years. She is such a treasure!! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
Tipper the name of the song that's playing on your mom's little jewelry box is My Melody of Love. I recognized it but I looked it up just to make sure. It breaks my heart to see your mom missing the man she loved so much. It's a Testament to your parents on what true love looks like. I wish all marriages were as great as theirs was. We are so blessed to still have our moms.
It's always interesting to see photos and other items that remind you that an old person was a kid once. Thanks to such videos as this, I know more about your closest family members than I do about some of my own not-too-distant relatives!
Granny is so sweet & soft-spoken. I just love when she makes appearances on the channel. Cherish every moment with her, Tipper, as there is no greater treasure this side of Heaven, than a Mother’s love!❤️ God bless & keep you both.
I couldn't of put it better myself Cindy!! Granny seems like such a sweet soul. I sure do miss my mom. Tipper, you will be so happy that you have these videos! ❤❤
Oh Tipper, you have to start talking to Granny each week! I could listen to her talk for days. She is a true blessing. The baby, Bible and recipe box. She’s a treasure. What a blessing to still have your Mother. I miss mine terribly. This is something to treasure! ❤️
Oh how I miss the storytelling of my father and Grandma (born and raised in Tennessee). What a precious mother you have. You have been blessed with that storytelling gift also!!!
Louzine is a darling, beautiful woman. Tipper, you were raised by a wonderful mother! What a legacy for your girls and future grandkids. Thank you for sharing this 💗
That was beautiful listening to her speak of the love of her husband and your father and I agree y'all are blessed to live in the area y'all are in. Y'all need to hold a Miss brass Town pageant because I know your mother would be a shoe in to win, she is absolutely adorable.
I love her Bible! What a sweet treasure! I have an old Bible that belonged to my mama. In Mississippi, many years ago, the funeral home in our area would always give a large Bible (I called it a coffee table Bible) to families who had lost a loved one. My mama got one when her dad passed away. He died many years before I was born. This Bible was filled with all kinds of beautiful pictures, and as a young child, I loved looking at that Bible, which I did every day. When I was about 4 or 5 years old, I began attending a little church down the road from our house with my older sister. One day, my Sunday school teacher asked us to bring our favorite Bible with us to church. I begged my mama to let me take that big Bible with me to church, and I was so mad when she wouldn't let me. (The Bible was about as heavy as I was at the time!) Fast forward many years later, I went to seminary in Kentucky where I learned all about those pictures I saw in that Bible, and I appreciate them more now than I ever imagined I could. I still have that Bible. It is worn and tattered now, mainly due to me flipping through those pages again and again over the years. I love that Bible to this day, and I am so proud to have it. ❤
Absolutely precious video and that bridal gown is prettier than any store bought dress! Her stitching is so precise and fine. A wonderful video Tipper ❤
How sweet Granny is! I can see in her eyes, she misses her husband very much. So great to have these videos to look at in the future. You are truly blessed Tipper. Thanks for sharing with us.
Things like these are SPECIAL to hear about!!! It is Days gone by but it is MEMORIES of another in your HEART!!! Remember When you Meet someone they put footsteps upon they heart forever more!!!
Your mother is beautiful, and how she looks like her mother … and how you resemble your mum when she was younger. Gorgeous photo of her and her mother. I felt a heartstring being pulled when she spoke of her husband, she clearly loved your dad very much (& he obviously loved her too). Thank you for this lovely video.
It's so nice that you are filming these moments of memories with your mom. I often wish my mom was still here to ask her questions about the family that come up. But I'll just have to wait until I see her again in heaven. Sweet memories❤
Oh, how precious Granny is showing us all her favorite things! She's had her bride doll a long time. I don't have my bride doll anymore, but I have a smaller doll that I got when I was 10 years old. My doll has lost its shoes, too.😊 I love her musical jewelry box that Pap got for her. She's such a beautiful, sweet lady, and she tells the most interesting stories. The picture of her with Gazzie, she looks just like Katie now. Tell her that I still have my recipe box that I got when I was in home economics in the 7th grade many years ago too. Thank you for sharing your Granny with us, Tipper. Sending blessings to you and all your family. 💕
That's so sweet that Granny was able to make a new dress for the doll. Any dolls that I ever had are long gone now. Granny has some precious memories to; I am glad that you are documenting them then in your videos. They are treasures!
Granny is absolutely lovely!!! I just love hearing her speak and remember moments that meant the most to her. Thank you for interviewing your sweet mother and asking her to show her treasures. Just love your family! God bless you all!
I really enjoy listening to Granny tell stories. She is a treasure to everyone who knows her. Thank you for sharing your Mother with us. Please let her know that she admired.
I love listening to her stories. Just precious. I lost my grandparents very young. My maternal grandpa was born in 1888 and my maternal grandmother was born in 1900. I remember them both as a child but wish I had asked them more questions about their childhoods.
Holiday/Christmas greetings to your beautiful family and subscribers, all the way from New York City, on this [lovely] rainy winter's day. I would like to thank you for sharing so many loving, creative and special moments, in and out of the kitchen. All are filled with such warmth and a whole lot of inspiration. I also want to mention that your precious mother, "Granny" is a joy to listen to. I loved each and every walk down memory lane as she shared those treasured gifts from past years. As for the magnificent music box her beloved husband gave her, I am almost positive the tune it plays is called "Melody Of Love". The song was recorded by many vocalists, but Bobby Vinton made it a hit back in the 70's. Please let her know how much I valued listening to her, and that I hope she will make future appearances here on your channel. G-d bless all of you for a healthy, loving, peaceful and Merry Christmas/New Year. MELODY OF LOVE: ua-cam.com/video/tfnBxbDz77U/v-deo.html
Video of the month right here Miss Tipper!! I love listening to our elders talk and Granny is such a treasure her self. Her voice is so sweet and peaceful. Enjoyed her sharing her treasures with us. And man she is sharp as a tack! Sure wish we could have been able to spend more time with her back in March. Thanks for sharing your mom with us!!!! 😇🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻
Hi Tipper I always say just sit an hour if you can at a Seniors side and you will have stories that will make you so full of joy to know how life was so different when she was a child. It is one of the best lessons anyone can ever have. Tipper is Granny your Mother? Seems there is a resemblance of sorts. Enjoyed this video so well. Thank you Granny for sharing. I remember getting gold stars and red stars and blue stars at school many times good memories. Made you feel really special. Wow 24 when Granny got married, I'd say that was unusual as I would gather that most people back then got married when they were 12 and 13 years old Or I could be wrong about that. My Dad was Baptist and my Mom converted him to the Church of England. So many lovely memories that will live on for a very long time. Thank you Tipper for sharing your interview with Granny.
Aww, this was so special. One day your own grandchildren and on will be able see how sweet was their great-grandmother. One NICE thing about time we're living in, that ability to capture something as wonderful as this memory, this interview. I know I'm not the only one who despite never meeting him, feel they met your dad "Pap" and when she spoke of him, it put a tear in my eye for the sweetness of life, and the bittersweet too. THANK YOU for this, Tipper. 💓
You are so right. I have a voice recording of my Pops, he left a message on my sisters phone. It’s so simple, just I love you, have a good day. It’s all of 5 seconds but it’s his voice, and it’s so precious to me.
Ive been waiting for another interview with Granny! I LOVE her! Her doll looks good for nearly 80 years old! Bless her heart. I just e like i know yall. Granny looks great! I know you treasure her. She's so proud of her Husband, I love that, too! She's a lovely lady inside and out! She's special to me, too! Thank you for sharing her! When i think of true Appalachian's, I think of Pap and Granny, You & Matt, your Brothers, your Precious Girls, its your Family. Thank you for sharing your life!! God's Speed Only
I think I am about your mama’s age (I will be 73 in Nov.) , and I still have my bride doll that was a Christmas present when I was around 8 years old. Love your videos with Granny.
ah, the Christmas Poke. i make em up for our Church and for the people where i work my job. i always draw animals on em, as cute as i can. there was an old couple from Serbia that had a gallery in the building. they were very sweet. he hardly spoke any English, but she had lived in Chicago for several years before he come over. i give them one of the pokes. well, he opened it up and grinned and called his wife over. she looked in and seen the two oranges and the stick candy. her face took on the sweetest look. he said: "is same in Serbia!" they're gone now, but i still smile when i think of em.
Oh how cute that picture of your mom and her sister and what a beautiful young lady granny was and still is. Your family sure is blessed with the beauty genes!!
I was struck by how much Katie favors Granny in the picture of Granny and her mother. I love your interviews with Granny. She reminds me of a treasure I am blessed to still have in my life, my Aunt Nell who turned 90 recently.
Such a precious interview. I loved her treasures and her memories of school. She graduated seven years before I did, so class offerings were about the same. Those were good times. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
Corie and Katie look so much like Granny when she was young! So beautiful! How wonderful it is to have her recipe box, that's one thing I wish I could have held onto after my Grammy passed this year (she was from Insull, KY and loved to bake and cook). Much love to you and yours, Tipper!
Your Sweet Mama said that y'all are blessed to live in your part of the country. I've visited that area many times and I must agree that you are indeed lucky to live in those beautiful, serene, majestic mountains. I never want leave when I visit. We ate Sunday lunch in Murphy on our way to Maggie Valley and Gatlinburg a couple of years ago. I remember thinking how nice it would be to call a mountain town home. I enjoyed watching y'all reminisce as I was eating my supper of purple hull peas, sour kraut and smoked sausage and cornbread and sweet tea. I may not live in the mountains but I'm southern and proud of it. Thanks again Tipper and Granny.
I never understood till I was older why my dad would tell the same stories; recalling all relatives and even on moms side after she died. How I wish I could hear him telling them again but now that he is gone I, and my brothers, can tell them and we do every time we are together and sometimes we learn something new each time. Listen, respect, and cherish it all while ya can everyone❤
After losing so many loved ones I realized that I knew nothing about their childhood so I wrote a book about mine so they wouldn't go through the not knowing that I did
@@lisapop5219 I understand. If it was her twin daughter’s doing the video I would have obviously know it was her mother. Anyhow, Just depends on how you type out your sentence 👍
My Mama bought Allison a porcelain doll.We were at mall in Rocky Mount. She had her in a little stroller. The doll fell out and a lady shopping came quickly over to render assistance. That doll looked so real.
Tipper. Your family bless me always. I am so happy to see you with Granny and the way you are with her. My Mom went ro to heaven 5 years ago. I miss her everyday. Your family keep me moving forward with my grief. I love Granny and your beautiful family from Terri in Ohio. Prayers for my family please. GOD BLESS YOU
Hugs and lots of love for Granny. She sure did set great store by your daddy Tipper, I could tell by the way she talked about him. Those are some lovely treasures your mama showed us.
Tipper, your mom is just so precious. She is truly a treasure! I still collect dolls. I’ve seen some that look like real little girls and cost in the thousands of dollars. I had a little bride doll that I won in Atlantic City when I was a little girl, just by putting a token on my birthday date. I had her for years, until she fell apart. I had a special shelf that I had to keep all of my “shelf dolls” on…the special dolls I wasn’t aloud to play with. Thank you for sharing your mom with us again. It’s such a treat whenever she visits with us!
I got a Revlon doll back in the early 60's and I donated it to the church for underprivileged children. My dad was also a Minister. He passed away August 24th, 2022. Love hearing your stories.
Oh, how very precious! Your Granny has wonderful memories that are so sweet to watch her retell. I love how you share your family and Appalachian heritage. God bless you and yours❤🙏🙏❤
Tipper, I think one of your greatest blessings and treasures is that you still have your mother with you. Cherish every single moment you have with her, because those memories will one day be more precious than any material possession you could have. ❤

Very True!!

I AGREE !!!
My mama is 97. I’m going to visit her in a few weeks. I was sorry the day that we had to move away from mama and dad. I love her to pieces.
The music box song sounded like, My Melody of Love. This is a priceless video, I love the older generations.

Yes we truly are blessed to live in this part of the country
Bobby Vinton, “My Melody of Love,” I think is the song on the music box. My grandpa used to sing it. ❤ Beautiful video!

I enjoyed watching y'all reminisce as I was eating my supper of purple hull peas, sour kraut and smoked sausage and cornbread and sweet tea. I may not live in the mountains but I'm southern and proud of it. Thanks again Tipper and Granny.
Thanks for sharing your Granny. She is the real treasure of Appalachia! God Bless you and yours.
Your mom is so very sweet! That recipe box is priceless!
Thank you 😀
OMG! 1956!! I was born in 58 and we’re talking like these are ANCIENT artifacts. THANKS! I wasn’t feeling quite so old before…ha ha ha. ❤️❤️❤️
After losing so many loved ones I realized that I knew nothing about their childhood so I wrote a book about mine so they wouldn't go through the not knowing that I did
Your very blessed to still have your granny! ❤
Thank you for watching!
Technically, it's her momma.
@@lisapop5219 I’m newer to this channel and the video said “granny” so technically I thought it was her granny…
@@josephinezermeno887 no problem, I was confused at first too. But wasn't answering to be mean just to inform.
A beautiful time with your mother and seeing her treasures. I think you look a lot like your mother when she was young. She was and is very pretty.❤️
GOD BLESS YOU
Prayers for you and your family!! Thank you Terri!!
Absolutely love this, how wonderful to listen to living history. I wish my Grandparents were still around to tell me stories like this.
Granny is such a sweetheart. ❤
