You could use WILL in the sense that you're expressing a fact (I'll miss you.) Or you could use GOING TO in the sense that you have evidence (love/friendship) in which you know this is likely to happen (I'm going to miss you.) 👍

From Gustav, I have a problem with the word will. It looks exactly like will in German buts it means something way different. Will in German means "I want" something. e.g - Ich will Eis = I want ice cream. It's not "Eis CREMA" like lots of Americans say. Vicki has a problem with the word will in German. She said she always "sees" the word meaning 'something that happens in the future. It took her 3 years to start "seeing somebody wanting something."

From Vicki: I listen to a lot of stand-up comedy, which totally confuses Gustav because this woman said "My mother thinks of herself as part of the Godfather's family. I'll just make her an offer she can't remember," [her mother is 85 in the skit.] He usu doesn't 'get' English comedy and I didn't understand ANY of the German jokes. That felt really depressing. I failed to comprehend even one German joke.
Hey Vicki. I imagine that can be frustrating. But I think comedy can be really challenging in another language. Sometimes, it's not only the meaning of the words that have to be understood but also any social or cultural references as well. It's the same for me with Spanish. It's often too fast for me to process the information and know why things are funny. I used to watch movies with friends and when everyone started laughing I continued to sit there. 😂
