Gomshall, Abinger Hammer with its striking blacksmith high clock (if it's still there) were also beautiful, but There was the prettiest and possibly the most ancient.
I have seen nearly all of your videos and love them all but rarely comment. After watching this one I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy them and how much I appreciate your shooting and editing style, as it really gives one the sense of being there with you shooting as you walk along, also the nicely timed pans and staying on the view of the buildings for enough time to take a good look. Also the information you tell us, as well as the phraseology of it, is always interesting and enjoyable to hear. The artsy shots of flora and fauna or just certain angles of buildings, along with sometimes humorous finds, are also much appreciated bits. Finally, the music your choose always blends in with the location and sometimes in particular, the place, such as organ music in the church. Many travel UA-camrs use annoying, loud and totally inappropriate music for the location they are shooting, which can negate the total experience. Thanks so much for putting out such wonderful videos of such amazing places. Cheers!
Nancy this was just a lovely read! Thank you so much for all the compliments it really keeps us going to make more videos for everyone to enjoy. Thank you taking the time to support and watch our videos. Best regards Simon & Will
Ah yes, if only I could move into this absolutely beautiful and exquisite village in a flash! Words cannot even begin to describe how I feel about this part of English paradise! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place with us ❤️
It's very, very beautiful.. but it's also brimming with tourists and visitors, especially in the summer, so it's not such a great place to live if you want tranquility and a slower pace of life! But more than worth a visit. A great video too.
You guys are the best! We truly love your channel and thank you for making us feel as if we are there. We are anglophiles! We live in a little 250 year old house in New Hampshire USA but would move to the UK in a heartbeat if only we could!

Marvellous! I first went to Shere immediately after arriving off a 24 hour flight from Australia! Taken there by friends from Guildford for lunch at the White Horse. Jet lagged and somewhat disoriented, I felt like I’d dropped into a dream. Have been back numerous times on visits from half a world away, what a special place it is. Thank you so much for the tour.
I am Canadian, my country is beautiful but, to me, England is my loving choice. The quietness of its country side, the beauty of its historic villages and the charming little rivers that run across the villages and the fields around make me so happy. I like walking with my dogs along the lanes throughout beautiful England. History is everywhere. Lovely places where we can feel in harmony with the surroundings. Sometimes I dream I am back in Jane Austin, Emily Brontë , Daphné du Maurier, or Agatha Christy’s, good old days when there was no tourism, only the locals getting through their every day lives and I find this very joyful, romantic and relaxing. Thank you for showing such beautiful places.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and passion for England. We have a video coming this weekend on Emily Bronte and the rest of the family I hope you will enjoy.
I am an old soul who reads medieval history and romances set in England and Scotland you have a rich history And glorious past as evidence by your buildings and villages I hope in my next lifetime I will to live in one of these places. Thank you for your very enlightening videos. d

I felt this way most of my life as if it were my home & I should have been there. I think it is my DNA some how knowing I’m tied to the places in England.
I've been touring England for two+ weeks every year for decades and often think I've seen way more of it than the average Brit. World circumstances has prevented that for the third year now and I really miss it but your videos greatly help with that - thank you!
Great, great tour !!! This picturesque village makes us to dream. UK is really a country fall of true historic treasures. I stayed delighted while watching the video hearing the little birds singing. 🐦😃🤩
You are the best "Visit the UK" channel on youtube. We appreciate that the music is so appropriate & timely. You speak so nicely and pause the music. How refreshing. Thank you!

What a beautiful peaceful and relaxing video, thanks alot, having lived in Italy for 57 this Is my England that l remember and love so much, Take care of yourselves love from Ann Italy 🇮🇹🥰🤗👍🇬🇧
What a beautiful village! The words idyllic, bucolic and pastoral all popped into my mind as I watched the video. I don’t remember ever seeing so many half timbered buildings in one place. And all of the paths and open spaces to walk on! As a Yank from the arid desert West I’m thoroughly jealous of you being able to have access to places like Sheer. This is yet another winning video. Thanks.
Hello Monica, it is a wonderful part of Surrey which does make it very popular. People like nothing more than a ramble or cycle in the Surrey Hills and then pop into the pub for some lunch. Makes for a fine day out. Thanks for watching.
I love the timeline of buildings and that the village is proud of their past and maintain it, not trying to modernise everything. Thank you as always and take care. =-)
what a beautiful little village so restful and peaceful just the kind of a place I would love to live nice quiet parks a place where one could read the newspaper and have some coffee in the morning. thank you so much. from a A grateful American 👍👍
Hello Gary, well at times its peaceful but its also quite a popular village to visit so does have its moments of chaos. You just need to pick the right time. Early morning I found pretty good.
Well it just add interest rather than just showing the scenery. Always a frustration when we have watched other videos. We like to find out a bit about the place and share it. Part of the fun of making the videos. So glad you like it!
I absolutely love the quaint buildings in this village and the history that goes along with it! Thank you for bringing this beautiful part of the country to life for us to enjoy.💕
I love your series. I remember visiting some villages. I was cold for 3 weeks. Looked lovely but could not get warm. Most guest houses didn’t have central heating. I am a cold whimp unless I am skiing ending the day with a hot drink and a warm bed with central heating plus a fireplace
We are just starting to see the cold days again after a very hot summer. It is hard to adjust to what is to come. So glad you like the content we make. Thank you.

What a simply perfect village. Adding to my must visit list. I think I just need to travel with you two gents. You visit all the places I dream about! Thanks!!!
Be still, my heart! So many lovely, charming cottages! I love to see historic buildings preserved and put to a new use in lieu of being demolished. The Holiday is a fun movie; it always cheers me up when the bustle of the Holidays becomes too much. You jolted me out of my reverie, however, when you showed the cell of the Anchoress of Shere! A long time fan of mystery fiction, I read Paul Moorcraft's novel of the same name many years ago. It's quite dark, but fascinating, with a modern day parallel plot line. Thank you for taking the extra steps in search of the local mysteries there. Cheers! :)
It quite amazing what stories you can unearth from almost every village or town. Something or some one fascinating has left there mark. Living quite near to this village I never knew about the Henry Cole link or the anchoress until researching the villages which is all part of the fun of making the video.
Absolutely fantastic. What a gorgeous village. A bit of history thrown in. Just love your videos. Thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Thanks for all your travel vlogs mister as they are quite unique from conventional ones. If it wasn't for you I would have never known England harbors so much underrated attractions in its countryside . Really appreciate your efforts and thoughtfulness
I so enjoyed viewing this video. Undoubtedly, it took a great deal of time and effort to produce; thus, I'm grateful for your efforts. I've subscribed to your channel and recommended it to family and friends who champion similar content. I look forward to future episodes, whatever the subjects may entail. Best,
Hello Gerald, thank you for your kind words and sharing our details. This really is a great way of helping us. So glad you enjoyed the tour, lots of other videos to watch and catch up on. All the best.
I really enjoy your videos. The scenery, of course, is beautiful. The narration brings it to life with the excellent and comforting delivery. The narrator is exceptional and I enjoy letting the videos run just to have his voice for company in quiet evenings. Thanks so much for all you do and all of your folks to do it.
I have watched your channel for some time now and may have only commented once or twice. Just wanted you both to know you are doing a great job sharing places far away from where I live (USA) in such a professional but easy manner that is so relaxing. I almost always learn something and feel like i have had a very much needed bit of escape to a peaceful village or destination. Your style does make one feel we are walking right along with you seeing and hearing everything you are. Good job, safe travels.
Well this one is only 40 minutes from home and have never visited but heard through friends and family of its beauty. Sometimes we get suggestions, places we already know or research really.
Lovely, just lovely! Another wonderful video. Thank you for the subtitles as well. As a result of having multiple untreated ear infections as a child, it has left me with decreased hearing in both ears and there are certain pitches of sound that I cannot hear very well. I’m telling everyone I know about your videos, sharing them on my FB page, encouraging them to please subscribe. Since I’m not free to travel, watching your videos is a very good substitute. In your antidote about Agatha Christie, I have watched a recent television program on just that incident. There was speculation that her supposed mental breakdown and subsequent disappearance was a result of her husband’s having an affair and asking her for a divorce. Even though I don’t think either one were happy with the other, a divorce during those days was nothing short scandalous, with the woman always coming out of it with the blackened reputation while the man got to go on his merry way. Too, there’s no telling how much money she would have had to pay her husband because by this time, she was filthy rich from the sale of all her books.
Thank you yes you are right about the possible theories around the possible breakdown. Thank you for supporting us by sharing its really helpful for us to grow! All the best.
Yes it can be a very popular place to go. Lots of cyclists and people walking the surrey hills want to stop for a coffee or a pint. And why wouldn't you, its gorgeous!
Where is one of my favourite places from when I used to live in Dorking. The many historical buildings are just beautiful. I happened to go there one day to specifically visit the gift shop and was aghast to discover it had been turned into a coffee shop! A voice behind me asked if they could help me. I turned around to see two men sitting in a van. Turns out they were the Locations team for a film that was being made there called The Holiday. They told me to look at the roofs of the houses down the street and that’s when I noticed the fake snow! They said Jude Law and Kate Winslet had been there the day before, shooting scenes. I was absolutely amazed! The guys recommended I go up a muddy lane to see the fake cottage that had been put up for the film but unfortunately I had the wrong footwear on to tackle that and have always regretted not getting to see it apart from in the film.
Loved it...enjoying ur video... such a immense beauty & u literally made my day with this beautiful & peaceful video.. after a long stressful day, watching ur video with a cup of coffee & making my mind that I'm traveling through this pretty wonderful place & living in it....it just heaven... thank u I couldn't forget mentioning how well & peaceful the place is maintained...
Add Die Monster Die from 1965 to the movie list. I watched it last night and the little bridge at the beginning of the movie looked so familiar! Turns out the fictional Arkham in the movie is Shere. Love the videos, keep 'em coming!

Thanks for all your travel vlogs mister as they are quite unique from conventional ones. If it wasn't for you I would have never known England harbors so much underrated attractions in its countryside . Really appreciate your efforts and thoughtfulness
Thank you for the lovely comment, so glad you enjoy them and we can share the places we like to visit in our country.
I love your videos!!! 👍👏🙋🏻♀️🇧🇷
Thank you! 😃
What a wonderful little village! Thank you for showing it to us!
Our pleasure 😊
A beautiful village. Thank you x
Thank you!
Super video Simon like your commentary style a lot
What an idyllic, peaceful place! Thank you for taking us around nice and early-- the place seems made up entirely of birdsong and sunshine. x
Gorgeous picturesque village. Nicely filmed and put together. Really liked the background music 🎶
Thank you 😊
I really enjoy your videos. The scenery, of course, is beautiful. The narration brings it to life with the excellent and comforting delivery. The narrator is exceptional and I enjoy letting the videos run just to have his voice for company in quiet evenings. Thanks so much for all you do and all of your folks to do it.
Thank you very much!
Just tripped over your channel. I was lucky to attend Shere primary school in the 1970's. This brought back great memories.
Marvelous. Watched a second time :)
Thank you 😊
I have watched your channel for some time now and may have only commented once or twice.
Angela thank you so much for the lovely review of our videos. Really appreciate the comment that keeps us going making new videos! All the best!
Thank you,you never disappoint do you,how do you find all these out of the way gems?
Well this one is only 40 minutes from home and have never visited but heard through friends and family of its beauty. Sometimes we get suggestions, places we already know or research really.
How beautiful village! I'd to live there!🙏👍👏🙋🏻♀️🇧🇷🇬🇧
Lovely, just lovely!
My old stomping ground. Miss it a lot. I must say that weekends there are VERY busy. Thousands of people everywhere.
Yes it can be a very popular place to go. Lots of cyclists and people walking the surrey hills want to stop for a coffee or a pint. And why wouldn't you, its gorgeous!
I read about it in a diary by Mrs.Miles's Diary from the M.O. diaries of a Housewife on the Homefront during WWII! So nice to actually see it here!
Very quaint & cute village . Thanks for sharing Simon & Will

Add Die Monster Die from 1965 to the movie list. I watched it last night and the little bridge at the beginning of the movie looked so familiar! Turns out the fictional Arkham in the movie is Shere. Love the videos, keep 'em coming!
