      Call me crazy and/or a neanderthal, but I personally like Dave’s “Holy Wars” solo the most out of all Megadeth solos.

    Weird when slow it sounds like ass but when played at the correct fast tempo it sounds really musical

      When slow, solo's usually sound like a dying electronic toy, that batteries dying, but you still hear slow melodies from it, hahahhaha but in fast, it's a solo...

      Well it’s because in the slow one he’s only focusing on the correct fingerings and the muscle memory. If he played it with the correct accenting, phrasing, and timing, and esp. if there was a backing track to hear the harmony along with it, it would still sound musical and pretty good

    It's weird that I bought this cassette when it came out, that it was my least favorite song on the album. Thanks for slowing down some of it, maybe I'll learn the solo someday. Lucretia was always my jam - the rhythm guitars and the solos

    I stopped playing seriously for 2 years and came back to it and decided to start this solo because I've always dreamt of learning it. I shoudve chosen an easier solo 😂. I predict I'll be ready in 4-6 months. But if you post this whole thing I might be able to learn It faster!

    I don't know bout y'all but I always find these diminished leads are what inspired Synyster Gates. Their fingerworks are so similar yet they have their own craft. I seriously think Marty is one of the inspirations of Syn's playing although I've never heard him say it. But I guess it's just me though

    Just curious did it take you one take to record the full speed version, or did you make a few passes and pick best one. Either way you are a phenomenal player, and I enjoy your channel, and your down to earth personality.

    It's probably the hardest part of the solo too cos it's just his natural quirky way of playing an improvised run. You don't have typical pattens you see in 90% of minor pentatonic based rock solos.
    The fast middle part is much easier than this part

    Nice work Mike!! Been working on the Symphony solo, but it's weird time to time 😂, not quite there yet... the middle-last part is so fast, the part comes after whole step bend 14, trying to work my pinky, but can't, so I may try to work with my ring finger for 15 there, but still very fast... But also, haven't focused on the economy picking there, which I believe is required... Help us on that too :D :D.

    Love it. Kind of funny that sometimes you get a few haters writing shit about your playing level in other videos. Then boom.. perfectly played Tornado solo end, and all these morrons got quite quickly.

    🎯My version when played up to speed sounds like it, but it's definitely a little different. All those notes where you go back and forth at the same fret between the E and B string I did as hammer ons and pul-offs all on the E string. But this is definitely it. Wolf Marshall would be proud.

    I honestly don't think this part should be played verbatim, as long as you hit the highlights it's fine. Even Marty pretty much never plays it 1:1 with the recording, it's just a bit messy. I still love it don't get me wrong, and your transcription is excellent.

    this solo just doesnt let you go as a guitarist. Everytime you think "wow, i pretty much got it", you are still off by some margin and need another 1-10 years to get any further with it. Its like an Asymptote, always getting closer, never fully making it though.
