I disagree. Simon is biased as hell. I used to live in Minsk (Belarus). He said that votes had been rigged so badly that all people went to protest. And Putin send his forces and saved lukshenko rule. What an utter nonsense and lies. Yes in 2020 lukashenko won officiall votes polls said he got 80%.
My family who is living there , voted for him. 40+ people voted for him. I don't doubt that he gained 60% plus. Tho young people voted for "pro European" candidates. They went on protests. At some moment Russia offered help , tho Lukashenko refused. After a week protests got to zero.

Relatively balanced, with little bias, and with just enough depth to keep people watching without boring them, whilst providing some detail, news agencies worldwide could learn a lot from this man...
Idk, the main reason the Houthis haven't been crushed by the West or the Saudis is probably that there's no appetite to inherit Yemen's 30-ish million people, a significant chunk of whom live in near-famine conditions. If another power collapses the Houthi government through an actually earnest military campaign instead of the pinprick strikes the US and Allies have done, then they'd have to either be ok with leaving the power vacuum for Iran to install Houthi 2.0, or otherwise stick around, fight ANOTHER counterinsurgency campaign, and do the whole "nation-building" thing that worked wonders in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Vietnam, etc etc etc.
The Houthis are relatively well-equipped compared to the forces that other powers are willing to commit to that fight currently, which is fairly limited. It's more politics than balance of power, tbh.
Edit: lol I'm loving the copium in the replies so much. Read my comment carefully, and really think about what I'm saying when I say that it's more about current-day politics than it is about the balance of military power.

Hamas "acceptance" of ceasefire was their proposal, similar, but changed the status of hostages they would return from "alive" to "dead or alive" while firing from Rafah to Kerem Shalom crossing, thats why it was closed, bc they shelled it..
Why Rafah crossing was closed?, the Egyptians closed it, not Israel..
Honestly all the gaslighting for HAMAS is pathetic
so im not hauling water for anyone that defends hamas but let me say this.... simon and his writers try to be neutral, but as far as simon goes.... its pretty obvious he leans left from my perspective.... with that said, i can tell hes making an effort not to include political bias and i respect it.... with all that said, its my opinion that these emotional appeals he keeps making in regards to his coverage of Israel's revenge battle with hamas, are in regards to the humanitarian crisis. I dunno what makes him think that his videos have such a large impact.... (i mean, who knows, maybe they do? i have no clue...) but at times it almost seems like he is trying to get a message to those involved.... or more like he believes they WILL see it.... hence the emotional appeal for the civilians involved...
In other words, i dont think he is on hamas's side, i think he is simply doing what they want in regards to spreading the news about the misery of those on the ground. To be fair, Im pretty sure it was one of his videos right after the attack on israel that informed me about hamas's intended tactic of hiding behind civilians and letting women and children die on purpose solely for propaganda.

Couple of interesting points to note... the southern border of Gaza was already closed by Egypt, the IDF seizing the Gaza side only eliminates blind eyes turned away for Hamas smuggling.
The cease fire agreements hashed out thus far have NEVER included Israeli hostage release, which is literally the whole point of the escalation.
Dont forget Hamas was the voted in government body by Palestinians, and whether or not an idividual agrees or voted for them is irrelevant as it did not matter to Hamas if the Israelis they killed or took hostage voted for the current Israeli government.
War is hell, especially when your fighting force is content to hide behind innocent civilians.
Not only content, but Hamas have stated that their goal (or doctrine if you will) is to cause the most civilian deaths because they know that’s the best way they can put pressure on Israel.
The IOF killed kids that weren't alive when Hamas was elected during the march of return protests back in 2018. So by your logic, when Hamas then attacked on Oct 7th, it would be irrelevant who an Israeli individual voted for, they had it coming because of their government's actions. I don't really agree with you at all, but hey, an occupied people trying to break out of their open-air-prison is hell, especially when you host music festivals right outside the prison.
Also, Hamas did agree to release the hostages, but Israel backed out of the deal because they don't want a permanent ceasefire and instead want to still invade Rafah. It takes like 2 minutes to look up the text of the most recent proposal that Hamas agreed to dude. It's not actually about Hamas or the hostages, it's about the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
@Laroccrj not by my logic, that is what hamas did. They came in slaughtered and captured indiscriminately of any perceptual reason beyond their Jewish ancestry, and you expect them to react to such with a compassionate soft hand? None of us were alive for the events and decisions that seeded this conflict. It just has been and is our reality, we all just have to choose which side we feel we can ultimately live beside in the future. I personally find Israel the better neighbor.
“War is hell” is your excuse for genocide? Don’t forget that Hamas only exists because Israel was invented shortly after WW2, with the native Palestinians living there either killed or forcible evicted from their homes.
Hamas didn’t come from thin air neither did Oct 7th, learn your history.
@@zombieninjapitbull3856 That is exactly the logic that you laid out. You said it was irrelevant if a Palestinian voted for Hamas because Hamas didn't care if the Israelis they killed on Oct 7th voted for the current Knesset. So by that logic, Hamas shouldn't have to care who an Israeli voted for, they should just be able to kill indiscriminately because the IOF killed over 40 children, who didn't vote for Hamas, back in 2018/19.
True, I wasn't alive during the Nakba, but it's not as complicated of a history as Zionists make it out to be. It's a pretty basic settler colonial project. If you took the time to research it, you'd probably not 'choose' the Zionist side. Instead you'd realize that there is just a right and wrong side in this situation. We study events in history such as the Holocaust because it's supposed to make you realize that the side running a concentration camp is the wrong side.
The slightest bit of research would make you realize that this is not about Jewish ancestry and instead just an occupied people's resistance. When someone makes that claim, they're either being disingenuous or they're just a fool. The 15 years leading up to Oct 7th saw 6 - 7,000 Palestinians killed vs 3 - 400 Israelis. Between that, illegal settlements, the occupation of Gaza, the apartheid system, you can't be serious to claim that the Hamas attacks are just fueled by a hatred of Jews.
Ultimately, who makes a better neighbor for us is not the concern, millions of people's lives are the concern.

I find it kinda weird that neighboring nations won’t allow refugees in. Curious on any opinions.
If the Palestinians enter they might not leave, and Isreal wanted that.
And most of the Arab nations from Egypt to Saudi didn’t want free mouths to feed and fulfilling Israel’s dreams of getting rid of the Palestinians.
That’s my guess
Yeah, half of them are terrorists. Nobody wants to let terrorists into their country.
Why?
I mean…they’re the ones that put the line on the map. They put in there for a reason.
At one time it was all one land.
People realized they had deferent beliefs and opinions, and needed to live in different states.
That’s how humanity works.
Not EVERYONE has the same beliefs and opinions. Thinking they do / should is naive and detached from humanity to begin with.
What’s so hard about letting people believe in what they wanna believe in?!?!
Why does EVERYONE have to have the same humanitarian opinion as you?
Egypt and Jordan are at the brink of economic collapse and have been for a while now.
Egypt is overpopulated to the point that they are desperately trying to build new cities which unfortunately is only further sinking them into debt.
Fortunately they have geopolitical advantages that the US needs so they have their economy artificially propped up.
An influx of another million people would likely push them over the edge.
In fact if Israel were to push more refugees into their country they would likely have no other option then to wage war.
There’s obviously more to it but that is the underlying reason. It’s a s*** show over there
It's not like any country can casually take in 1-2 million people, especially when the country in question is poor to begin with. It's also a risk of bringing in terrorists from Hamas.
20:20 Goddamn. Georgian politicians be throwing hands down in parliament.
Hey guys.
Before everyone stresses out about Russia doing military exercises with nuclear weapons, understand that it's nothing new. Anyone who lived on or near military posts in the 80's could tell you that this isn't new, or fear inspiring. And it was even worse before that. The cold war never really ended, so sit back, relax and don't feed the fear mongers.

Oh no, anyway, Happy mother's day.
The only reason the protest sparked a revolution in Ukraine was because the US had its hand in it. That’s what Georgia has to worry about.
Where the wind blows, the fallout goes.
As an Ethiopian 🇪🇹 I look at Middle Eastern people who has systematically oppressed women, Black/Africans, Jews and the LGBTQ community, categorically rejected democracy and peace deals, and been responsible for virtually all terrorism in the world. Several of the worlds richest nations are in the region, still not a single one has been willing to help their own people. Yet, somehow, they are always the victims. Now, make it make sense? I don't feel the slightest bit of empathy for any of them nor one single iota of sympathy for their cause, because whatever they are going through, they have no one but themselves to blame. Now, ANYONE, prove me wrong!
They just want to grow their olives and dates and live their modest life, they don't need of the aforementioned, you are dead wrong and shame on you
@@daveconrad6562 How exactly am I wrong? Oh, and please spare us from your simplistic, romantic and innocent 'Lawrence of Arabia' nonsens about "olives and dates". But since you love these people so much, be a 'Florence Nightingale' and go there and help them. I can assure you, you would neither want to live, nor last long, under their rule, and you know it. How many Palestinians have hurt you in your life? Yet you condemn them all to death because you are simply racist towards all middle-easterners.
You proved yourself wrong already with your own ignorance and stupidity but I thought I’d add something extra to make it more clear.
You NEED to turn down (or preferably off) the music in the background. Around the 10-11 minute mark it was so loud I couldn't even concentrate on what you were saying. I see comments like this in almost all the videos for this channel, and yet they still do nothing.
Honestly…I didn’t even notice the background music until you made your comment. I had to go back to 10-11 to see what you were talking about.
I would have liked MORE background music. I like it.

Gaza has been in the “brink of starvation” since the beginning of the war but there have yet to be more than a few examples of people actually dying from starvation. People are complaining more about cigarette prices than access to food. That says a lot about the food situation…
