Thanks Derek for your video it has even been confirmed by my double glazing company as OK. I have successfully adjusted my new french doors. You save me £40 plus VAT for a man to come out and make adjustments on the frame
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for this, my doors have been doing my head in and I had no idea they were this easy to fix
No problem 👍
After a year of banging the door shut I have watched this video and discovered how simple it was to fix. Door closing bliss. Thank you.
+Paul Martindale No problem
Ive finished diying some french doors and going through the adjustments, this helps much squaring the doors to each other.
Cheers D
Great
Brilliant, thank you so much. You have saved us money and made our house secure again. Mine was slightly different but similar enough to try the technique. I used a spirit level to check, as soon as it was level, it locked again fine. Very proud of myself for trying and eternally grateful to you.
You're welcome! All the best Sharon.
More helpful videos like this are needed on UA-cam. I didn't know about the hidden 5mm hex to actually raise the hinge, couldn't work it out. Thank you sir.
No problem!
What's to dislike about this video? It just saved me an £80 call out charge from a locksmith. Two quarter turns on each of three hinges et voila! We now have smooth locking doors again. Thanks so much for taking the time to post the clip.
Graeham Smith No problem. Al.
You just saved me £80 for a call-out, thanks very much
No problem 👍

dereton33 ok, slight update, it’s not worked, it won’t latch so I shut the door and it won’t shut properly without lifting up the handle, any ideas or other videos

Excellent, I have the same style of hinges on my French doors. Job done and saved myself some money not calling someone out for a 2 minute fix!
No problem BrianR.
Yes, helped me out too - mine had torx headed screws that I adjusted upwards ( clockwise ) This enabled the door locking mechanism to work properly in this hot weather that otherwise expanded the striker plate restricting the hook from entering it fully. Good presentation video.
thanks , very easy to do and saves a call to the company
No problem.,
Thanks for the help, managed to adjust one of my doors which was catching the bottom of the frame. A 5 minute job that actually took 5 minutes.

I have the small ones like this but the doors width is smaller - double still though. I can loosen the small allen keys but the Allen key to raise is not a 9 ..... it's one I don't have typical.
To raise the door though as it's catching on the bottom are you turning the Allen key (bottom) so that it's away from you to the outside -- -it's hard to differentiate your clockwise -- better to say away from you or towards you would be easier at that angle ?
cheers.
Great video. Well explained. Thank you
Thanks for this.
Even someone as impractical as me managed to fix a door !

Thank you! Our doors had dropped and we could not shut one of them easily. Problem solved.

Hi,
Can you tell me what brand are those hinges? I may have to buy them and install them on my doors to fix the unevenness. Thank you!
Sorry I do not know. There is no ID on them.
Hiya thanks for these really clear instructions. My door hinges have metal rods in them which cannot be turned with an alen key, any ideas please how to adjust this type of hinge?
+Wendie Sharman Sorry ive no idea on them ones.
+dereton33 you will have to remove the lass and heel and toe the frame. look on here on how to do that
Very helpful, Thank you .
Thanks a lot.
kind regards
al.
Great video, thanks very much! You saved me again!
No problem.
Thanks very useful. Does the information you provide apply to the right as well as the left hand door? For example on the right hand door do you turn clockwise on the bottom hex to adjust the door up and do you turn spanner clockwise to adjust the door out?
Yes it does!
@@dereton33 thanks
I need to move the top part of my left door left how can i do this
Hi, does anyone know if the right hand door is adjusted a different way to the left or is it clockwise on each of the bottom hinge bolts for both doors? Thanks in advance ☺️
Should be anticlockwise.
That's great, thank you 👍🏻
Hi I have these alen key hols one facing as the one you adjusted in your video and the top one one the opposite side, facing outwards. I don't have any caps just what looks like a metal rod showing at the top and bottom of the hinge. how do I adjust this type of hinge please
