Thank you for sharing your art and creative journey as well as your reflections of your emotional and mental processes during travelling on your own and dealing with anxiety. One good thing about anxiety is that your awareness of everything around you is heightened because you are on alert with adrenalin running. Anxiety and heightened senses can be overwhelming but you are not letting them stop you but instead using them. Bravo! It is so good to see you and Winnie your companion dog together and how you are so tuned to each other discovering new places. How you can grab a moment's image and make it into artwork astounds me. So looking forward to looking at more of your UA-cam videos - thank you!
What a lovely comment, thank you! Yes living with anxiety is forever challenging but I'm always determined to not let it stop me from doing things and to harness the good things about it! I'm looking forward to more trips with Winnie soon!
This is sooooo very close to my heart is Tintagel Cornwall the artworks you did are beautiful your Dog Winnie is a sweet girl it was lovely to see Tintagel again and you captured some beautiful sights thanks for sharing ❤
As someone who's never been to England but grew-up obsessed with Arthurian legend, Tintagel holds a special place in imagination. It's stunningly beautiful there. Thank you for sharing glimpses of your residency and the landscape. I hope you were successful in getting an ice cream cone.
Oh I’m so pleased you enjoyed watching! Yes a long history of legends based in Tintagel for sure! I did get an ice cream on the last day - white chocolate and raspberry!
Lovely to see this area and your work, which is beautiful. We live just up from Trebarwith Strand, so a lot of familiar landscape. Love your doggo too.
Trebarwith Strand is beautiful and I totally understand the gravitational pull back there. Ive only visited a few times whilst staying at Port Issac. Thank you for sharing your art but mostly Winnie x
The ‘dreads’ are frequent visitors to my mind but you have ploughed through those feelings.loving your observations and style of work. I would hate talking to camera also.
You’re so industrious Molly! Thank you for sharing your latest residency at beautiful Tintagel. I will never tire of the British countryside and I feel like you absolutely nail the colours of the sea, cliffs and vegetation in your sketches ❤ I am waiting for some of your artwork (big painting and collage piece) to come back from the framer and I cannot wait to see it! You mentioned experimenting with red in your sketchbook and I wanted you to know the framer and I had such a lovely time looking specifically at your green and blue marks because you mixed some gorgeous colours and we took our time selecting the right mats and museum glass. She was really interested in the story of how you made them so we had fun talking about that too. And it’s such an English view, I know it’s going to look so beautiful hung (will send you a pic). I also look forward to seeing how your latest engravings turn out. Thanks for sharing your days and process, as always I feel we’re all very lucky to see that. You absolutely deserved an ice cream! Hope Sam is feeling better too.
Thank you Natalie! I love the colours here in spring, the greens are so vibrant! Oh how exciting about the framing, thank you for taking so much care and thought about how to display them with your framer! I did get an ice cream on the last day which was nice! Sam is much better thanks, just really sad he missed out on the trip! There's always next time though!
Thanks for sharing this lovely video. Wonderful to see your creative thinking and process, and to see you working outside from nature in such a beautiful place. Your work is so amazing. Love also seeing Winnie!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you always taking the time to watch! I’m enjoying creating so much new work inspired by my trips around the UK 🥰
There is such a lot of work involved with producing your prints - I do hope that you manage to take a little time out now and again, to recharge your batteries!!@@mollylemonart
The landscapes in this area are so beautiful. I really enjoy your videos. Winnie is a star. The cottage is so inviting and makes me want to visit, although it may not be possible. Thank you so much for sharing. Take care!
I agree Donna, the landscape was amazing! I’m so pleased you enjoyed watching! Winnie is such a good companion for my trips! The cottage is so lovely, I’m definitely tempted to return!!
Wow, Such a beautiful scenery and the weather stayed good as well! I loved the sketches, the cottage, the prints, especially the blue and green one from min 19., I can imaging staying there for a long time... Winnie is such a good girl when you are out painting, she is so calm :) (my dog Ruby, would probably whine a lot for me to get going and not sit in my lap while I paint) Well done on your Residency and yay to a future video from the market :) have a great day!
Thank you so much! Yes I was so lucky with the weather! I could have happily stayed longer for sure! Winnie is a very good companion, I think as she gets older she's even more happy to rest while I work! Thank you for watching!
I enjoyed this so much. I own two of your small prints and it’s so interesting to see your work and thought process. I also loved the small bit at the end and the tour of the NT property. The videos seem a tremendous amount of work and I appreciate that you’ve felt inclined to make and share them - thank you! (Speaking of NT properties, have you been up to Thomas Bewick’s home of Cherryburn? I just got back from a trip to Northumberland and it was a highlight. They also had/have on a wonderful exhibit of Chris Daunt’s work.)
Thank you very much! I'm so pleased you enjoy the videos, you're right they are very time intensive and I frequently wonder if I have the energy to continue with them but also the connection I get with other people because of them make it all feel worth it 🥰 I haven't been to Cherryburn, maybe that's a good future residency idea!
Love your work! You have inspired me so much that I decided to try it myself. Unfortunately, I have an all metal Speedball model B press that is terrible, spoon printing is better! What is the printing press you are using?
Aw thank you! It's a Pookipress! I am planning to do a video on it because I want to talk about the pros and cons and compare it to my Albion press, I'll aim to do that in the next few weeks! It's linked in the description of this video with a discount code ☺️
Hi Molly, could you please explain what an "artists residency " is. Are you sponsered by the local arts council or local art galleries for the time you are there? Or is it just a working getaway?
Hi Steve, I use it as a broad term to describe time away from my studio where I'm focussed on making art (normally in response to the landscape). Often the residency is self funded and self directed - I book a holiday cottage and make art there. Sometimes they're more organised official residencies - they're organised by other people and you have to apply - but I've always funded my own, I've not been paid to do one. The only one I did which was free was the one in Pembrokeshire as the accommodation reached out and offered me a room for free, I hope that makes sense!

Aw thank you so much!
