bro you have to use the drum machine! trust me is a game changer!!... Right click on the empty kit and create pattern region and that is the beast right there! once you learn how to it 💯
4.20 the workaround is to drop the sample onto the instrument channel, where it says in this example "Empty Kit", it will let you add it to the kit without having to open DMD back up.

@@sonnybrix77 not exactly. FL is considered a toy by most main stream producers. All they did was take existing features and make them more streamlined, advanced, and more efficient.
I am a total newb that needs basic instructions. One little question: What are you using to play the sounds? midi controller? I can hear you pressing something and was trying to determine by the sound what you are using. On whatever you are using, how do you know which percussive sound is being assigned to which key? Thanks and your videos are worth gold!
He was either using a MIDI keyboard or MIDI drum Machine. The keys are assigned to default keys but the cool thing is you can change them to whatever you want. I believe you right click and press “learn” or something and play the key on MIDI to change the note.
You saying the drum designer closes out when you tap through the folders but are you sure it isn't just being switched behind the main Logic window? If it is then you can resize the window and have them side by side.
I don’t know about you but I’m finding it even more convenient to just get my work done on my laptop now as my workflow is just extremely fast with all my plugins using logic /maschine On the iPad i fiddle a lot but never move from concept to production. I’ve been collecting music apps on the iPad for five years. ....
if you can get a student id/email. u get the whole apple bundle $199.99. u get the logic pro x, final cut pro x, and others. and u will own it. mpc $1,100 and limited think about it
@@12tribes61 mpc is dope dont get me wrong i had a mpc2000xl loved it! but today software production is more flexible. i dont know how to make beats in logic lol i use maschine/beatmaker3 and logic for mixing and vocals

Does Logic's new Drum Machine Designer automatically make your drums mono/stereo depending on what they are meant to be? Like for example, kick drums should be mono not stereo - but i can't see anywhere to open a Mono instance of drum machine designer, and i can't see anywhere to specify what pads/drums are mono and which ones are stereo like how in battery you can open it with 8 mono pads and 8 stereo pads etc.
can you layer samples on each pad? I can't find that option anywhere. im trying to round robin some hi hats but I can't do that unless I make a separate sampler
