nice set of SF books there Cate. 2004 = Vintage! jesus that's a scary prospect. in my head 80s and back is vintage, 90s is some sort of epochal border country, but the 2000s is "contemporary". showing my age, i expect. i love the Panther science fiction books from the 70s/80s, that's some of my earliest sci fi reading memories. been busy building up my own stash of those, among others. good luck with your collecting!

I know it makes me feel a little queasy thinking about 2004 being vintage 😢 Panther books are the best and I really need to go hunting for some more 😂

Nice collection of science fiction and fantasy books. Some great covers there. Good luck with what you are reading. I hope you get some great stories. I'm currently reading the Count of Monte Cristo. It is excellent but I might be some time.

Thanks. Oh my I do really want to read the count of monte cristo but the size is kinda really intimidating! Like is it that good that it warrants the mammoth page count?!

@@CateCrafter I'm half way through and both enjoying it and looking forward to reading something else when I finish, if that makes sense. I'm so glad I have started reading it. It is a commitment due to its size. You could give yourself permission to start and not finish before hand. No one will know!

I’ve just discovered your channel and love this video. Great selection of books. If you want to buddy read Broken Sword I’m up for it. Left hand of darkness is brilliant, one of my favourite books. The critique of Clarke’s Rama was hilarious. There’s a book event coming soon called Book Trek if you’re interested - it’s the Summer months basically, reading Trek books in the Summer. Looking forward to seeing other videos on your channel. I’ve subscribed!

The oldest book I own is from 1894, the first American edition of The Jungle Book, which I inherited from an uncle. But I love that Left Hand of Darkness cover as I've never seen that particular one before, and I'm a LeGuin fan. I so need that Imzadi and Q in Law books...I think I own Cost of the Crown...not sure.

Wow 1894!!!! That’s so cool. Q in Law might actually be my next read as I’m in need of some silliness 😂

My personal favorite that you showed was probably Foundations Edge. I also wanted to recommend Pet Sematary instead of The Shining. I think it's King's best book. It especially hits home if you have kids. I have a paperback from the 50's of Lost Horizon. For the record, I'm not that old. I was born in the mid 70's, so I guess sort of old but not 50's old. Anyway Sláinte🥃

Good to know all my Robert Jordan books are vintage now. I have a collection of Le Guin panther books but i dont have that version of The Dispossed. Le Guin is my favourite author so im bias, but she is the best sci-fi writer ever. Childhood's End is good but I prefer Rama. Asimov romance sounds dodgy, The Gods Themselves has a kind of romance in it I guess. I need more star trek books, looks like you cleaned out ebay though. The Destiny trilogy is really good which is a TNG/DS9 crossover. My oldest book is from 1828 i think 😂

Caves of Steel is before The Naked Sun - End of Eternity great! - a nice selection all in all. Just an FYI please, if you can - try to look into the camera itself - rather than looking at your screen. It would help connect you even more to your viewers (IMHO)
