  • As I mentioned a MagDrill might not be a tool you use everyday but when you need it, it's a must have. This video is for people who may not know this tool exists or have been thinking about buying one. It is an investment but will for sure take you to the next level in your fabrication abilities.

Speaking of stepping up your game, I started watching your channel in 2016 and over the years I've watched you up your game drastically. Everything from everlast welders to magazine interviews the whole kit kabootle. As always it's a pleasure to watch your videos. Always learning something from Jimbo. Look forward to seeing your next video.

Have used mag drills at work for many years. Had one go flying across the workshop one day when the magnet broke loose drilling a heavy beam flange.

Wish I had a dollar for every hole I have drilled with a mag drill! Lol. Those are really great though.

They are a great tool, the only limitation is you need a reasonably thick bit of steel, and room the get the base of the mag drill on the steel and drill the hole in the right place.
I use annular cutters in my drill press often as well. The cutters are a real game changer for big holes both in a mag drill and in the drill press.

Sucks I used to use these everyday until our shop made a switch to only stainless steel jobs.

you could try a bit of plate of steel for the mag drill to grip that you can clamp on to the stainless if you have the room.

If you can find one get an old metal body Jancy Slugger (not the new plastic crap they make these days). STAY FAR AWAY from Milwaukee's mag drill, and the dewalts are meh.
